PART 8

Swara took the packet from him and opened it...It was a set of purple colour glass bangles...It was the same colour of her salwar kameez..She felt so happy and tears came down from her eyes...
Sa:(feeling bad)What happened Swara?You didn't like it?
Sw:(turning to him and hugging him tightly)Ohh Sanskaar...I loved it...Thank you...
Sa:(hugging her)I bought it at the market today...I thought that you might like it when I saw them...
Swara raised her face and looked into his eyes with lot of love and passion...He looked into her eyes, and then to her rosy lips...She was still in his arms...He moved his face forward and kissed her lips gently...She didn't try to resist him this time...She also kissed him back with lot of love...He placed one of his hands at the back of her head and his other hand around her waist and kissed even harder...Swara was completely melted in his kiss...Their first kiss..
After some time Sanskaar drew back from the kiss and they looked into each other's eyes...They hugged each other again... Swara thought that it was the most wonderful feeling in the world as she stood there feeling his heartbeats closer to her chest...
After that, Sanskaar and Swara walked back along the river bank and reached the old bungalow. They went inside and entered the huge hall. They saw Adarsh,Parineeta,Ragini and Lakshya sitting on the steps of the staircase which led to the rooms upstairs. The other students were also sitting here and there in the hall..They were all having their tea with hot samosas..
Lakshya and Ragini had told Adarsh and Parineeta about their confession. When Sanskaar and Swara reached near them,
La:Sanskaar,Swara where were you?The Chef had told that your group have to cook the dinner after tea time...
Sa:Oh!That's after 5 o clock na...No problem..We can relax till that..(leans on to the hand rail of the stairs)
Ad: My group has finished our work in the upstairs..Now we have to start our work, downstairs, too ..Ragini, did your group finish your cleaning work, down stairs...
Ra:No...But all the bed rooms have been cleaned, as the teacher had instructed...Swara, why are you so silent?
Swara, who was playing with the glass bangles which Sanskaar had gifted her, had not uttered a single word after coming back...She looked up when Ragini called her...She couldn't suppress her smile because she had been thinking about their kiss...
Sw:(smiling)Well...I was just thinking about..
Ra:(smiling)About what Swara?(to Sanskaar)Kya baat hai Sanskaar?Sach sach bataao...You guys are hiding something...(with an expression of "your game is up")
La:Haan...Come on..Tell us where you were till now...We were all here..But where did you go..?
Sa:We went to the river side...We were walking along the river bank...Thats all guys...Why are you all looking at us like this..? Dekho na Swara..! Kaise ghoor rahe hain humein..(innocently)
Sw: (smiles) Chodo na guys..See what Sanskaar gifted me..(shows them her hand with bangles)
Pa:Wow...Sanskaar gave this to you...So sweet..!!
Ad:Oh.. That is why she is so happy...

The time was 7 o clock in the evening...All the groups had finished their works..They were all sitting around a camp fire which was lit in the courtyard of the house..
Mrs. Kalpana faced all of them.
Ka: Listen everyone..First of all I want to appreciate all of the student groups for doing your works very sincerely... The group which has got the third highest point is Adarsh Lokhande's group with 7 points out of 10..They had finished their work very neatly and very much in order...The group which got the second highest points is Sanskaar Deshmukh's group, for preparing a delicious dinner for us all...They did their work very neatly and their group member co-ordination was pretty good. They have been awarded 8 points out of 10..There are two groups which got the highest point, that is 9out of 10..They are Bhargav Dutta's and Deepak Dev's groups who did a tremendous job in collecting water from the rivers and filling the tank despite the continuous usage of water by the others...A huge round of applause for all of them and for all the other groups...
Everybody clapped their hands and congratulated those group members who scored the highest...
Next it was Mrs. Suchitra, who stood up to address them all.
Mrs.Suchitra: (smiles) Congratulations to all of you...We shall all enjoy for sometime...You can do anything, such as organize some games or any one can entertain all of us by their performance...At 8 o clock we shall have our dinner..
Sonia raised her hand, to attract the attention of the teacher.
So:(excitedly) M'am..We can play Antakshari...We can play it among the groups or as the Boys team Vs Girls team..(she stands up)Friends ,which one will be more interesting..?
Every body told "Boys Vs Girls"...Then all the girls came to one side of the fire and the boys moved to the other side...Sonia sang the usual "Baithe Baithe kya kare,karna hai kuch kaam, shuroo kare antakshari leke prabhu ka naam..."..The first chance went to the boys..
Ad:"Main koyi aisa geet gaaun,Ke aarzoo jagaao.."
The other boys also began to sing the song...
La:"Agar tum kaho..." Ab tum log "Ha" se gaao..
Sw:"Hum dil de chuke sanam.."
And the other girls also sang with her...Thus the game was going on...Swara caught Sanskaar's eyes and they smiled at each other..
Sw: Tere ho gaye hain hum..teri kasam..(blushes)
After some time, Swara looked at Sonia and saw that she was also staring at Sanskaar. Swara didn't like it, and she tried to concentrate in the game, but she couldn't.
Swara looked at Sanskaar again and she noticed Sanskaar saying something in Lakshya's ear.As she watched, he stood up, then went to Kalpana M'am and asked something..She nodded and he headed towards the bungalow..
Then Swara looked at Sonia and noticed that Sonia was also watching him go inside the house..But much to Swara's astonishment, Sonia also got up and went to the teacher to ask permission fro something. When the teacher nodded to her, she also went towards the house.
Swara wanted to know what she was up to. Sonia knew that Sanskaar was inside the house and Swara couldn't sit there simply and wait. Swara turned towards Ragini and whispered.
Sw:Ragini, come with me..
Ra:Where?
Sw:(getting up)I will tell you..come on...
Swara and Ragini went towards Mrs. Kalpana.
Sw:M'am..Where did Sonia go?
Ka:To use the loo..
Sw: We too want to use the loo, M'am
Ka:Ok..But come soon..
Swara and Ragini walked into the building..There was no electricity in the village..They had lit lanterns only in the main rooms such as the sitting room , the hall, the kitchen and one of the bath rooms for the time being ..Swara and Ragini reached the sitting room and saw Sonia going towards the hall..When they cautiously followed her into the hall, they lost track of Sonia and couldn't find her anywhere..They decided to check inside the only bathroom which had light in it, it was in the very first bed room..But they didn't find Sonia even there..
When they came out of that bedroom, Swara noticed the light in the kitchen, which was the last room which had light in it. Swara looked at Ragini.
Ra: I think she might be in there..
When they reached near the kitchen door, instead of going inside, they hid behind the wall and peeped inside the kitchen..They saw Sanskaar who was drinking water with his back turned to the door and Swara widened her eyes when she saw Sonia approaching him..Sanskaar didn't notice Sonia.
So:Sanskaar...
Sa:(turning)Sonia, tum kab aayi..? Tum bhi paani peene aayi ho..
So:(slowly)Nahin Sanskaar..Woh..Main kuch kehna chaahti thi tumse..
Sa:(keeping the glass on the kitchen slab)Tell me..(faces her)
So: Sanskaar...I love you...
Sa:(shocked) What??
So: Haan Sanskaar..I love you..
She crossed the distance between them, and hugged Sanskaar tightly, even before he could realize what was happening.
Sa:(irritated and angry)What are you doing Sonia..?Leave me(tries to push her away..)
So:(trying hard to hold on) Please, Sanskaar...You love me too...I know..
Sa: (disgustedly) Kyaa..?! Keh kya rahi ho tum, hosh mein toh ho..?!
Sanskaar tried hard to push her away...While doing so, both of them slipped and Sanskaar fell on top of Sonia...Sonia tightened her grip around Sanskaar and pulled him towards her..
So: (smiles shyly) Naughty boy..Tum mere upar girna chaahte the na..!
Swara lost her control and she came running into the kitchen..She went and rescued Sanskaar from Sonia's clutches...Ragini also came in..
Sw:(angrily shouts at Sonia) HOW DARE YOU ??
So:(gets up, shocked)What did I do?It was him...He...(starts crying)..He grabbed me and tried to kiss me when I came here to drink water..
Swara got really angry and she slapped hard on Sonia's face..Sanskaar was looking at Sonia without able to believe what she was saying.
Sw: (looking livid)How dare you tell such a lie about someone, Sonia...?(shaking with anger)I saw and heard everything...
So:(shocked) You just slapped me, you bitch...??(keeping her hand on her cheek where Swara slapped) Swaraa, you will pay for this..(storms out of the kitchen)
Sw:(without looking at Sanskaar)Ab chalo yahan se..(walks out of the kitchen)
Sa:(feeling awkward)Swara...Please meri baat toh suno..
Sw:(stops walking,but does not turn back)Sanskaar mujhe kuch nahin sun na...We will talk about it later...And remember,don't tell anyone else about this incident...Ek ladki ki izzat ka sawaal hain...Ragini come with me...Kalpana M'am told us to get back soon...(and walks away with Ragini...)
Sanskaar stood there watching Swara and Ragini going away, feeling helpless.

Ragini and Swara were walking back to others where the fire was lit...
Ra:Swara, why didn't you hear what Sanskaar wanted to say..?
Sw: I don't know Ragini...(angrily)I am really angry at that Sonia...How dare she??
Ra: I know...But why are you behaving like this to Sanskaar..Usse kitna bura laga hoga..
Sw:(looks at Ragini)Haan..Woh to hain...Kya main jaake usse baat karoo...
Ra:Haan Swara ...
But when Swara turned she saw Sanskaar coming, a little behind them..He was looking at her with a sad face...
Swara felt really bad..But she didn't know what to say to him...She went to him...
Sw:I am sorry Sanskaar...But you know..
Sa:(keeps his finger on her mouth)Shhh...There is no need to tell sorry...Tumhari koi galti nahin thi..
Sw:(feels relieved)(looks down)I never liked that Sonia...And I had told you before itself that her intentions are not right..
Sa:(smiles)Haan...Woh toh hain...(naughtily)But what can I do if all the girls are after me...?
Sw:(surprised)Kyaa...??You...(and starts beating him on his arms and chest)Aur kitne hai tumhare girl friends...?Bataao Sanskaar..bataao...(beats him again)
Sa:Arre baap re...Ouch...Ouch...Arre Ragini dekh kya rahi hain...Mujhe bachao naa is ladki se..
Ra:Tumhe bachna hai to bhaago yahaan se...Swara bahut gusse main hain...(laughs)...Main nahin bacha sakti
Sanskaar ran away from Swara ...
Swara : Arre ruko na..(mock anger)
Ra:Ab chale..? (smiles)
Swara and Ragini came back and sat in their place...Sonia was glaring angrily at Swara ...Swara didn't look at her...Sanskaar was sitting near Lakshya...
At 8 pm they all stopped playing..It was time for having the dinner...
By 9 pm everyone had their dinner and were sitting here and there in the ground floor of the house...Sanskaar,Swara,Lakshya,Ragini,Parineeta and Adarsh were sitting in the sitting room, were there was no one else...The remaining students were sitting in some or other rooms and many were still outside near the camp fire...
Ad:Today we all really had great fun...hain na..?
La:Haan..Woh toh hain...Itne dinon se jo baat mann mein tha woh baat Ragini se kehke, bahut acha feel kar raha hoon...Kyun Ragini..?
Ra:(smiles slightly)Kya Lakshya...Tum bhi na..
Sw:Ragini tum sharma kyun rahi ho?
Sa:Achi baat hain Ragini..Tum Swara ki tarah har baat pe Lakshya ko maarti toh nahin hain na..
Sw:(irritatedly)Sanskaar...Tumhe toh main..(raises her hand to beat him)
Sa:(moving away from Swara )Ab shuroo mat karo...Parineeta,can I come and sit near you..?Yeh ladki mujhe bahut maarti hain...(and gets up)
Sw:Nahin Sanskaar..I am sorry..(tears began to fill her eyes)
Sa:(didn't notiice)No way..I am going...
Sw:Sanskaar..Please..(voice shivers)
Sa:(turns back)Arre Swara ..Main toh sirf mazaak kar raha tha..(comes to her and puts his hands around her)
Sw:(starts crying)Mera mood waise bhi kharaab hai aaj..Aur upar se tum is tarah ki baatein kar rahe ho...Jaao..Mujhse baat mat karo..
She pushed him away, got up and left the room.
Sa:(looking at all)Maine kya kiya?
Everyone else looked at him with a stern look.
Ad:Ab tumhe hi usse manaana hoga..Jaao..
Pa:(angrily)Haan Sanskaar..Jaao..
Sanskaar came out to the hall and searched for Swara ...But she was not there..There was no one in the hall..He went and peeped into the other rooms,but she was not there also..Then he decided to try in the kitchen..He looked inside, but there was no one..He turned back, and then he heard a sound of someone weeping from the outside the backdoor of the kitchen..He went to the backdoor and he saw Swara standing near the water tank with her back turned to the door..She was weeping badly...Sanskaar felt really bad..He didn't know what to do..
Sanskaar went and hugged Swara from back...He put his hands around her waist and kept his head on her shoulder..
Sa:Swara ...I am sorry...Mujhe maaf karo..pleaaase...
Sw:(trying to take off his hands)Chodo mujhe...Mujhe tumse baat nahin karni...
Sa:(grips her more)Nahin chodoonga...Pehle tum bataao ki tumne mujhe maaf ki...
Sw:Kyun maaf karoo...?You always keep teasing me...Issi liye to main tumhe maarti hoon..Ab main tumhe aur nahin maaroongi...Aur tumse baat bhi nahin karoongi...Ab jaao yahaan se...
Sa:(leaving her)Acha toh tum mujhse baat nahin karegi..?Abhi tak tum kya kar rahi thi...?Or was I just imagining you talking to me..?(stands with an expression of imagining about something)
Sw:(turns and sees him standing like that)You...(angrily starts beating him)Badmaash...
Sa:(stands like that itself)And I am now imagining that you are beating me...(looks at her)Or are you really beating me?
Sw:(laughs)Tum na..Ab tum jaao yahaan se..Nahin toh main..(looks around and finds a broom,she takes it and runs after him)
Sa:Arre baap re...(runs)
Sw:(laughs)Sanskaar idhar aao..Main nahin maaroongi..(puts down the broom)
Sanskaar stopped running and turned back..He saw Swara standing there and she was smiling..Sanskaar came to her and looked into her eyes, with his romantic eyes. She also looked back into his eyes with lot of love..Tears filled her eyes..
Sw:Sanskaar tum mujhe kabhi chodke toh nahin jaaoge naa..?
He took her hands with both his hands,raised them to his lips and kissed them..Then he kissed her forehead..And then he hugged her...
Sa:Main hamesha tumhare saath rahoonga Swara ..And I will never leave you...
Sw:(smiling)I love you Sanskaar...
Sonia and one of her friends had come to the kitchen to take some water in their bottles for them to drink in the night...Sonia heard this conversation between Sanskaar and Swara and she saw them hugging each other..
Both of them didn't make any sound and they came to the hall...
So:(to her friend)Ohh!!So these people are in a relationship..Now I understood why that Swara was so furious when I hugged Sanskaar...Bechara mera Sanskaar...!!Uss Swara ne mere Sanskaar ko apni jaal mein phassaakar mujhse alag ki hain...
Friend :Remember Sonia..She slapped you...!!You should never forget that..
So:Forget...??I will never forget...I will teach her a lesson...Sonia se takkar lene ki keemat chukaani hogi usse...(smiles with an evil look)
And both of them go away...
Meanwhile at the backyard :
Sanskaar and Swara come to their senses and both of them pulled out of their hug...
Sa:Swara , raat bahut ho chuki hain...Lets go and sleep..
Sw:Haan...Chalo..
