These things depend on trps. even actors don't know what's going to happen next week, you are thinking about next track which isn't coming soon. but the thing is you have doubt in your mind, that is why you are seeing such expressions even if varun isn't intended to give them. and about madhubala, they gave the unwedding track because they wanted a new entry as a hero but mass-audience rejected this change. there were other reasons too. and rk wasn't negative , but a grey shaded character who was too stubborn to accept the love, well, the relief was, story roamed around Rishbala , no one between them, that was good. see even actors wouldn't know few months ago, that this track will come. and if this track happens in the show, I hope there should be swasan only, no one between them. so, it's the game of trps, nothing else... hayeee! all I want to say enjoy "Swasan"...

Great analysis! I sometimes feel too that Sanskaar has an ulterior motive. After Swara 'convinced' him that DP and Laksh are innocent, I was suprised that he didn't continue to investigate and find the culprit. Yes, it's possible that he's the real mastermind but it could also be that he suspects it's someone in the family and needs to return to the family with everyone's sympathy. DP's words today convinced me that he forgave Sanskaar and totally trusts him. Perhaps he's not after revenge in the original form but still wants to punish the family in a different way for exiling him in the past.

In yesterday's episode I did see the dark side of him again when he was giving Ragini a piece of his mind. He is protective about Swara, for sure, revenge or not. Being with Swara calms him and forces him to fight for the truth in a more 'honest' way, because she would have it no other way. That doesn't mean though that his agressive and ruthless streak is gone forever. It's hiding in there somewhere temporarily and will come out when triggered, such as when Ragini maligns his wife's character.

I think he has a martyr complex of sorts too. He couldn't save Kavita but now he feels it's his duty to save Swara, whatever the consequences. I agree with what you said that Sanskaar has much to gain. Yes, he couldn't put his finger on it, but subconsciously he's in love with Swara. Or is he? Is his past trauma influencing his thoughts and feelings and making him feel that she is the balm to his wounds? Is protecting her and giving her the respect she deserves Sanskar's way of forgiving himself for failing Kavita years ago? I also feel the fact that Swara is Bengali urges him to be extra involved in her life because of the rejection and injustice Kavita suffered. 😆

He said as much in today's episode that he married Swara to save her life, not for love or other things. I think he has always been drawn to her but the day he started to regret his actions after seeing her pain is when his heart started to get involved. He connected with her because of his pain and that will never change.

He knows that under normal circumstances a love story between him and Swara would be impossible and unthinkable. After Ragini is exposed he would have no valid reason for continuing to be her husband (fake or otherwise), but this action of being a savior and marrying her (for the right reasons) will pay off in the end. She will never disrespect him or the marriage and she will never leave him, or so he thinks. He will also have a valid reason to keep her in his life for good..

Sanskaar seems to be a one-woman man but I think he has serious abandonment issues - losing the support of his family and being kicked out the house, living alone, and then losing Kavita ... that trauma still haunts him. Here's a girl, Swara, who's been abandoned by her father time and again, never accepted by her grandfather, and abandoned by her fiance. So he feels the need to step in and rescue her, give her what he missed in his life: support and attachment. It's not just about love or romance.

On a lighter note, sometimes I wonder if his ultimate goal has been to marry a Bengali woman to stick it to his family who ostracized him for wanting to do the same in the past. Because of recent events they had no choice but to accept his 'marriage' and accept Swara with all her Bengaliness. Not only that, they give her the full rights and respect of a daughter-in-law, epsecially DP - this would have been unthinkable in the past. So he made DP do the very thing he was always against. 😆

Sanskaar and Shomi are, in my opinion, the best written characters in the show, but I must confess today I was hoping that after Adarsh's little taunt at Lakshya, that the CVs will flesh his character out and take it to a new dimension altogether. One can dream, hey?

First of all good character analysis.

In the telly world turning a character from positive to negative and back from negative to positive all depends on TRP. Regarding Sanskar's character, he has the potential to emote layered characterization. So there for e the creatives may stay him grey. I said may' as of at this point of the story there is no point in showing him negative.

But before arriving at any conclusion, would like to review some points regarding Sanskar's character and the buildups.

Who is Sanskar? What was his character in this show?

Was he always a villan?

As we all know the answer is a big NO.

Sanskar is the eldest(After Adarsh) among the younger generation of the Maheshwari family. A beloved brother and a best friend of Laksh. He seems to be once the jaan of the Maheshwarian's and the ideal son , who is the least least expected to go against the family's interests. May be DP even saw the future of Maheswari family in Sanskaar than with Laksh.

Laksh on the other side was the youngest and the then spoilt brat of the Maheswari family, who is least expected to do good for the family. There were many people including Sanskar to hide Laksh's misdeeds and many of his mistakes were ignored with an atmost possible warning. But the slightest of the slightest mistakes of Sanskar was unforgivable as he is the least expected to go derailed'(in DP's POV).

Why he turned negative? What was his revenge?

Sanskaar, unlike other sacrificial goats, he was one believed in standing for your love against every odds. His family was dearest to him, but Kavitha was greater that his life. So the mere thought of his family being responsible for her death gave birth to the idea of revenge in him. And all that he wanted was Laksh paying back for what he had done to Sanskar(from Sanskar's POV).

The two people who had influence in him; his mother, Sujatha who is against the Maheswarians, being one among them( may be she wants a badwara rather than living under the shade of DP) and his dupattewali dosth Ragini, who was then confused of choosing between suicide and murder; all made use of his revengeful attitude, for which they could have instead make him understand of the probable circumstances and help him in finding Kavitha's murderer. It was Swara who took their position and made him rethink of the whole situation. At the end, though not intended anymore, his once reason for revenge has been accomplished when Lakshya is trapped in a loveless relationship for the rest of his life.

Is Sanskar still negative? Are his changing expressions at times, getting drunk and setting fire to the tent its signs?

Ok, as of now we all are aware that Sanskar, subconsciously is in love with Swara. If this is true, then all his actions including his expression change at times are may be happening while his subconscious is triggered by certain events like;

-> Mentioning of Swarya relationship.

->The fact that Laksh is still in love with Swara.

->Someone insulting Swara.

->Someone questioning their relationship.

->Someone mentioning him paraya' to her.

->The mere thought of Swara leaving him.

If so, then why is he drunk? Is he really drunk? Have we ever seen him drunk before?

Sanskar as portrayed in the story is not a drunkard nor he is a person who finds solace in alcohol in the midst of problems. If he is really drunk then, the very reason leads to another question that

What would have happened after his impulsive act of attacking Ragini at her mayka for insulting Swara?

Ragini insulted Swara, mentioned her najaayiz, questioned their relationship and above all reasoned with what if Sanskar leaves Swara? And that was what agitated him..and he came into action. He might have thought at first how would her words have affected Swara and what would be its effect?

Ofcourse Swara's mother and deeda is concerned of her future and definitely decides to put an end to the whole game. If so, then what could be the next step? Swara leaving him? For unknown reasons this thought of Swara leaving him at the end has always irritated him. After all they united for a reason and there is no point in staying together if the reason itself doesn't exist. And the third thought will be a big WHY? Seeking the root of the above questions. Why is he so defensive about her? Why is he so disturbed of the thought of Swara leaving him? This would be the greatest turmoil of his life in addition to the realization that he is letting Kavitha go off his memories and all these might have made him lose his control of mind. After getting drunk, his subconscious might have surfaced, the drunk Sanskar with the fear of losing Swara when saw the tent might have felt like the tent is useless anymore if Swara is leaving him. The tent is filled with their memories together (not romantic though) and the alcohol in him suppresses any analytic thoughts in him and on such a situation when he saw Swara , he just blurted out his innerside.

Coming to the question 'Is something wrong with Sanskar?'
Unless there is any TRP twist in store for us, Sanskar is in the process of realising his love for Swara,

At the same time the creatives have left the space for them to make Sanskar negative if they want but that will be an injustice to the credibility of the character.
