Haven't checked the viewership-statistics for this series in full, but presumably if they were getting 3+ TRP consistently, then they would have been unwise to mess those pairings.
But if they weren't likely to get closer to 3+ TRP (and its BARC equivalent), then they would be imprudent not to change the pairing.

The only decisive point is that once a sister gets married genuinely, then the other sister getting married to that same guy later (even with any excuse of majboori etc) would usually wreck the 2nd-wife actress's position as female-lead.

The channel has been very sensible and focussed on ensuring viewership-success since the last few months of 2014 and through all of this year so far.
If something works to attract majority-audience, don't mess with it.
If something doesn't work, change it to ensure requisite success. :)

And there are some online sites which can be used as a weathervane - if they say something is great or interesting, it usually means it'll crash with viewership-lack, and either the track or series may close. If they criticize something for various reasons, it may succeed for years. There are very few times when those opinions match viewership-tends. :(
So channels focussing on actual viewership, and considering opinions which match viewership in positive and negative reactions, is usually prudent. :)
