Heart goes out to Shomi

Being a mother is the toughest job in the world, we all know that already. so Annapurna and Shomi have always had my support. Even Sujata. In the earlier episodes, when Sujata was scheming against Lakshya and Swarya, one could not really blame her, for she always thought that she lost her son because of Dp, and that DP had been biased towards them.and the arrogant side of DP only made s believe that.
However the last few days have seen a complete change, as if the the entire creative team have been replaced, but the one character who has not changed and is still getting her share of misfortune is Shomi. how does it feel to be dumped by your beloved, whose child you are begetting? and then getting married off to another, but even that marriage was an unhappy one as she soon returns to her mum's place.being a single mother and raising her child alone, working at the same time. ragini's dadi did not make things easy for her with her constant taunts and rebukes. then somehow through a stroke of luck, she finally gets married to the man she had always loved .her daughter is getting married and look at the reception she is getting !!!
they wont have tea prepared by her, wont have food prepared by her, most probably will object to her doing kanyadaan too!!! why? cause she eats fish??? how stupid logic is that????
and where are her darling daughters fighting for their mother's rights??? where is her husband standing up for his wife's rights??? ...swara is very vocal about not touching lakshya's feet, and a big shout out to you for thatšŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘...and for this serial showing that!!!! well done.. but even swara knows howher mum is feeling yet she is quite...!!!!how she is being treated yet not being vocal about it..why swara why? Bengalis are very debating by nature, always ready to speak on pros and cons of a issue( including yours truly !...maybe that's the reason I identify with her so much)...then why is she still silent on this matter... you are finally getting the love of your dadi, well and good, but what about your ma???? does her hurt feelings mean nothing more to you now that you are going to get married to your love ?????
😭😭😭😭

People say Swara dies everything she is so mahaan.. unrealistic character..

and now you say She is not doing anything for her mother's right just coz now she is marrying lucky?

Like really?

Swara too has a life.. which is totally messed up.. her own sis and that Sanskaar giving her drugs.. made her MMS.. now even gonna do black magic on her..
How on earth you expect her to do everything?
her image is spoiled infront of everyone..

But I too really feel bad for Shomi..
don't know why every time she and shona has to suffer..

I did not say that she is not doing anything just because she is getting married to lucky.
I am saying that she is getting married to lucky, yet some of lucky's family's traditions are objectionable to her, specially the feet touching ritual, however the same family objected to shomi's cooking food for them and instead dadi cooked for them, and on being told about it, she is happy that finally dadi has accepted her as her naatin but did not realise that in dadi doing it for her, shomi lost out on her right. she should have realised that her mother will be happy for her daughter , but deep within will feel bad that she is being treated as an outcaste.

on a small sidenote, swara did question that whether her mother didn't cook because her sasuralwale wouldnt eat that food or not, and when she figured that was the case she was very upset, its just that shomi turned it around towards dadi. since then she's been too busy fighting drug feeders, phone stealers and unknown conspiring sister.
but overall, wonderful piece written. Shomi is the best character in show and perhaps one of three consistent ones. but one thing that irks me is her unwillingness to stand up for herself and her child. its always bothered me. its hard to be a single mother, i know cos i grew up with one, but then it becomes especially important that you have a voice. when she heard AP say that stuff to laksh she should've gone ahead and confronted her. she should've asked- why the double standard? why play with my child's dreams and expectations when you don't even see her as good enough for your son? why bring the rishta in the first place? we certainly didn't ask for it. you came to us asking for my daughter, then the least you owe her is some minimum respect.

wow !!!! you said it so much better than me...agree with you cent per cent... shomi needs to be stronger if not for her self then for her daughter swara. the way she was saying to ragini that she will break the alliance if ragini was not happy with swara's marriage alliance, never for once thinking how the maheshwari's would react , cos for her, her daughters were more imp. in keeping with this characterisation of hers, she should hv taken a stand for swara with annapurna when shd was discussing swara with lakshya, as u hv so rightly mentioned.
p.s you are such a strong lady tejaswini , my respect for you grows ever more, as i read your various posts and replies spread over the forum. your family members must b really proud to have u in their lives...salute!

@bold wow! thank you SO much, I'm humbled, but really I'm the one who is proud of the family i was given and the one I've made, cos i know i caused a lot of grief to the one i was given getting to where i am today but I've taken a lot of grief building the one I've made, so i hope they're proud of me now. 😳
