Waise, I just saw the ET news 😆 Expected although, the why is still pending! I can think of several reasons and assume it will be several reasons, in the end.

Let me express another possibility for NK to get Karan to agree: Threat. He could threaten Karan to throw him out and cut any financial support they had been providing him (which they seem to have been doing as NK mentions many times how they shouldn't have wasted their money on ashrams for Karan but a pagal khaana for him). This, alone, won't be enough, obviously. So, NK raises the stakes by threatening that he also would not allow Nirmala to see him otherwise, he will have her out of his life, too 🤔

Frustrating, this suspense, but it's fun predicting 🤣

Oh oh oh I had a random idea!! What if NK blackmails saying that naina should marry karan knowing fully well that karan will not agree and hence this marriage will also get cancelled? And then maybe Naina convinces Karan saying marry me now we'll divorce later?

Ok. Suspense is clearly messing with my brain. My ideas get progressively bizzare. 😆
