Pardon my ignorance, but what does Paundrak actually mean, the duplicate Vasudev was saying yesterday that he is Paundrak Vasudev

this fake vasudev was a king of paundra, a kingdom in north eastern region, hence paundrak.

I saw yesterdays episode, Dury hurting his hands which were folded in front of Paundrak😆

Today Karna calls Dury as Mitra and Dury becomes ready to do anything, hoping this episode to be slightly better.

Saw the last couple of episodes. Only thing I think this serial deserves credit for is revealing the real reason Krishna offered anything to Dury. Not too many know that the Samba-Lakshmanaa marriage was the reason. Also, while mytho writers love depicting all of Krishna's kinsmen as being loved, fact remains that in the case of Samba, Lakshmanaa did not want to marry him, but was left w/ no choice once he had abducted her: no other man would accept her as a bride as she was considered defiled by all but Samba. And his mischief caused his father to be put in a position where he had to offer something to Dury, who he had a dim view of. Lakshmanaa probably hated her family, and to show her as a devout bahu of Krishna defies credulity.

I saw the encounter b/w Arjun & Paundrak. If Paundrak had the powers he's been depicted w/, he'd have been more of a god. Reason Krishna killed him was that he was starting a de facto cult in his kingdom, where people started worshiping him instead of the real gods. Other than that, he was not a tyrant (as depicted in Dwarkadheesh), nor was he a black-magician as depicted here. And aside from his narcissism, he was not even evil.

I really wish they had shown him as offering his support to Dury, and Dury going back w/ him thinking that he had won over Krishna. Incidentally, FWIW, in the original story, he probably was killed by Krishna during the Pandava exile, and his kingdom actually fought on the Pandava side in the war. But if they show him alive, they might as well show him fight for Dury.

Other thing - Vrisha___ (ketu? sena?) was a pal of Samba? 😲 Okay, but even assuming that, Samba was not a combatant in the war, and had he been, despite his marriage to Lakshmanaa, he'd have had to be in the same side as his father. So why is Vrishaketu so keen to fight b'cos of mitradharm? Especially since he (if he is ketu) survived the war and joined Arjun.

But these tracks - w/ Samba & Paundrak - really took the focus off Karna, which begs the question - is the serial about him, or not? If this show has good ratings to have caused an extension, can't they show Karna as a king in Anga ruling and bringing about his cherished parivartan, so that the Sutas can come out of their caves and live under the skies of Anga?

What a lost opportunity!!!

Vrish(Sena/Ketu) being a friend of Samb is as much a creative liberty (read fictitious) as the rest of the serial.

However I feel if at all Samb was in the war, he would have sided the Kauravas as the entire army of Dwarika was in their side

Whether the serial is on Karna or not? This question has been haunting me since the day of VH.

shipreeta, only Krishna's Narayani's were on the Kaurava side. Otherwise, everybody was at liberty to join whoever they liked. Like Kritavarma joined the Kauravas, while Satyaki joined the Pandavas. All of Krishna's sons - Pradhyumna, Samba, Charudeshna, Bhanu, et al were neutral, and nowhere near the war.

I somehow think that the name 'Suryaputra' was meant to highlight Karna's Kaunteya proclivities, but even w/ that, it goes overboard

I agree to this, but Samb is free to join Kauravas (at least in this serial).

The show has now become an Ekta Kapoor show post the generation leap though

But he doesn't even seem to like Duryodhan and from what I've pieced together from not paying attention, he seems to think everyone is an idiot except for himself and his priya mitr.

Decided to read the WU of 2 April (available online at various places) just to catch up with whatever is being shown...as per my understanding -

The Vrishasen-Samba-Laxmana love triangle seems to have come to a conclusion...at least for the time being (thank goodness!).

SonyKrishna in Hastinapur currently for peace talks. And similar to StarMahabharat, chains seem to have been kept in full readiness for the arrest...🥱

I don't watch this show (never did even at the beginning). But I was only mildly interested as it was being made on a Mahabharat character. But TBH, I'm not a fan of any kind of work being presented from a particular character's POV - 'cos either the character gets over-glorified simply for the sake of putting others down, or said character gets the sugarcoat treatment. But due to the Mahabharat connection here, I was like,"Chalo...let's see how this one turns out..."

TBH I am totally confused as to why this show is called Suryaputra Karna, when it actually seems like a pathetically shoddy remake of StarMahabharat more than anything else (actually much worse than that) ----> StarMahabharat + Ekta Maiya's soap saga = SPK...

EDIT - Made certain changes to my post. The portrayal and characterization of the characters on this show is the interpretation of the writers and the actor's portrayal more than anything else. However, this forum has its own unique and witty way of expressing criticism. Considering that "FoE" is an extremely touchy issue these days, I don't wanna take any chances. So,...

Dury and Karna (although Karna is anything but a friend, so much I wanted KaDu, and now I really there shouldn't be any KaDu scene)

Arjun and Paundrak (not sure if this exists, still giving it a faint chance)

Samb and Vrihsena 😕😕😕 Nevermind

Bhanumati and Supriya (Long forgotten but still it did exist sometime😆😆😆)

Supriya and Vrishali (Supriya named her son on the latter as she was the reason of her happiness, although I don't understand what happiness did she get with Karna always staying away from her)

I think the name of the serial shall be Mahabharat_Mitrata ki ek nayi Paribhasha 😉😉

Paundrak and Draupadi

Duryodhan and Paundrak2 (not exactly a friendship, but it looked like Dury had a thing for Paundrak2)

The love triangle of friendship -- Samba x Vrishasena x Lakshmana
