Finally watched the episodes of last week and the dreaded K-D scene and made a few observations:

The last few episodes were all about Draupadi. Surprising...especially for a show on Karna.

Pankhuri is a very beautiful woman...but she lacks the aura of Draupadi that was portrayed perfectly by Pooja Sharma.
I am liking the portrayal here...soft, intelligent, curious and charming...but a little bit of regal pride(not arrogance) will make it better.

Pankhuri's clothes and jewellery are great but the head gear at her Swamvar was ugly. I am not liking her overall appearance...and Pankhuri is looking too lost and confused to be Draupadi...though I feel she has potential.

Last but not the least...the K-D scene. After reading all the comments and panic here by everyone, I was really scared. But after watching the scene I realized that may be we all are over-reacting. Please forgive me for saying this, but I actually LIKED the scene despite being a strong opposer of Jambu fruit and for the FIRST TIME, I actually SAW Karna in Gautam Rode and liked his acting.
There was nothing even remotely romantic about this scene...and the makers have made it clear that they both feel nothing for each other. Draupadi was searching for Arjun n only Arjun while Karna was not even intetested in participating even after seeing Draupadi...They were impressed by each other's goodness but NOT smitten one bit by each other's charm...The praises and appreciations were more of a human appreciating another human n there was not a single hint of any kind of romance there...

For one of those very very few occasions...hats off to Siddharth Tewary for handling such a delicate topic with maturity.
This scene is not there in the epic...and probably was not required in this serial...but it gave positive vibes for me.

And I am actually surprised that they are whitewashing Draupadi. All those Karma-Dharma dialogues were beautiful but they may not be taken well by people who take the 'Sutaputra' comment so seriously...We had protested a lot for the bitchy portrayal earlier on Star Plus but dont want the makers to show her as completely white either.
Liked the normal conversation of Karna and Draupadi but I guess this good impression of each other will end soon with the rejection...

Personally I dont mind such interactions between them...and for the first time, I actually felt that if Karna and Draupadi had respected each other the way it was shown in the episode, then the epic would have been more beaitiful and there would have been harmony in Mahabharat forums...

But in my opinion Gautam still need to work on being K. his roar is still...
GR is an amazing actor... looks like he is given a diff outlook of him!!

Even I was scared hearing of eyelocks n all but after watching I was relieved...
And the best part is...even after meeting Karna, Draupadi was asking him who his friend was...hoping it to be Arjun... 😳
I smell Ardi... 😳 Draupadi did smile at Karna but she was occupied with Arjun's thoughts...

Gautam Rode isnt very suitable for Karna but I feel in subtle scenes like this one, he was decent...

Yash Raj style promo and then 2 feet rule in serial...Can't believe Arjun was the only husband in Star Plus whom Draupadi did not touch...literally!!
Even the twins got a chance in the end...
Noone can replace ShaJa but let's see...


But I hope this Swamvar episode ends soon...and they focus more on Karna's life...

Are you guys still watching this comedy show?😆 I only saw the entry of Draupadi to see how did she look. I liked how Pankhuri walked out of fire (though the graphics was very poor compared to StarB). To me, her portrayal of Draupadi looked closer to what I read in KMG (single epi haan, I did not dare to watch any further). Drau was a soft-spoken woman unless provoked, right? Not like Star Drau who resembled Seeta of Valmiki Ramayana.😉

It seems IF still thinks Karna is a witty child. In a way, it is absolutely right.😆 I hope SidT does not get GR's vocal cords damaged.

I am only watching from Draupadi's birth and want the Swamvar episode to end quickly so that I can stop watching again... 😆

Well...I havent read Ramayan...so wouldnt comment.
As for Draupadi...we get to see her harsh side on certain circumstances...On other occasions...she was normal.
Soft-spoken or not...that is subjective.

So far...her portrayal is soft. Cant comment till she rejects Karna... 😆

As for Star Plus' Draupadi...she was less of Draupadi and more of Manthara and Satyabhama, as u said in some other thread... 😉

Yeah...Gautam Rode might start sounding like the actor playing Shakuni after the show ends... 😆
