After killing Agniparv, the Pandavas are relieved and look at each other. Including Karna, who exchanges eyelocks w/ Yudhi & Arjun.
Yudhi asks him his name so that they can get introduced. Karna tells him that he's been asked by his father to leave, including bringing misfortune to his family, and so he was on his way out.
Bhima asks him for more details, and so Karna tells him the story of how Shon got beaten due to Karna's own confrontation of Dury, and earlier Dushy. Bhima is disgusted.
A: Mitr Karna, from what you're describing, looks like you've been badly treated by Hastinapur's princes.
Y: Maun raho, Arjun. Do not forget that Duryodhan is our brother, and is therefore closer to us than strangers.
B: But Bratashree, Karna is one of the citizens of Hastinapur, so it's the duty of our brothers to protect him. And Shon. Instead, they were persecuting the sutas, and now end result, Karna has lost his family and home and has to leave for the forest.
S: Bratashree, don't forget that mitr Karn has saved JeshtMatashree. (sobs) We just lost Pitashree & Matashree yesterday, and had he not come in in time, we'd have been fully orphaned 😭
Nakul & Arjun both hug Karna, thankful that their mother is saved.
B: Bratashree, that's it. Dury may be a brother, but this friend who's saved Matashree and helped us kill Agniparv is closer to my heart than even my brothers. Nothing you tell me will convince me otherwise.
Saying this, Bhima grabs hold of Karna and hugs him from behind, almost squishing him.
In the meantime, Adirath & Priyamvada arrive, and Adirath tells Karna to continue on his journey.
B: Adirath Mahoday, your son has just saved our mother, and there is no way that we can just let him leave alone in the forest, w/ no one to take care of him
S: Adirath Mahoday, we understand that he's the cause of your misfortune. Don't worry - he won't stay w/ you, and you won't be responsible for him. If he has any problems w/ Dury or Dushy, they'll have to come after us, not you. You can peacefully live w/o worrying about bad things happening to your family.
N: I also have the cure for Shon's injuries, and can cure him in a day, in return for what both you & Karna have done for us.
Priyamvada now tries to intervene, knowing that Adirath is helpless to overrule the Pandavas.
P: Princes, it's necessary that Karna continue doing what his father has ordered him to
Y: Yeah, bhaiyon, dasi Priyamvada is right. You should not be asking anybody to disobey his father
S: Bhaiya, we are not. Adirath wanted Karna to leave so that the wrath of our family doesn't fall on him. But we can't be ungrateful to Karna for what he has done - we're in his debt. So what I'm suggesting is that Karna join us. As it is, Mata owes him for saving him. So what we can do is take him home, and Mata can take care of him, along w/ the rest of us. Also, while the rest of us are responsible to follow & obey you, he isn't, and he can be Mata's personal bodyguard whenever we're not w/ her. Mata, please say yes.
Yudhisthir & Vidura both tried to intervene, but Kunti overruled them both
K: Yeah, putra. Adirath Mahoday, we are greatly indebted to both you & Karna. Now I understand that due to him, you are in trouble, but if he stays w/ us, you won't be in trouble for anything he does. I'll take responsibility for him, and you, Radha, Shon and Uchchyasena can still visit him anytime you like. Please don't leave me in your debt.
Both Adirath & Priyamvada were at a loss for words, so they reluctantly agreed.
Karna tried to refuse, but as his luck would have it, he tripped on himself and landed on Bhima's gada. That caused his armor to come to the fore, and Kunti instantly recognized it. Glaring @ Priyamvada, she turned to Adirath
K: Adirath Mahoday, I do thank you for taking care of Karna all these years. Nakul will attend to Shon once we're there in Hastinapur, and I'll make sure your family has everything you need
P: But Maharani...
K: That's enough, Priyamvada. We've been hard enough on Adirath all these years, but now, we have to relieve him so that Karna doesn't cause more hardships to his family. I'm taking Karna back...
V: Back???
K: Yeah, back. Karna is my own son, and the elder brother to my other 5 sons. With my husband's death, Karna can take his place in protecting my sons. Putra, Karna is your elder brother. Unko prenipat karo
The Pandavas all fall @ Karna's feet, and hug it, and Karna falls over them 😆
Vidura, Adiratha and Priyamvada are all flabbergasted. Kunti asks Karna to don the same clothes as his brothers, and tells him about Pandu's & Madri's death. Karna bursts into tears, recalling how Pandu had saved him from the bear. The other Pandavas & Kunti all hug him, and he tells them the bear story.
Following that, the Pandavas (including Karna) & Kunti all go out to do Pandu's shradh, followed by Vidura, Adirath & Priyamvada. Following Karna's cue, all 5 brothers burst into tears, and Vidura is happy that at last, they are mourning Pandu
