wow pakeezah I feel that we are sister souls. Loved reading you. felt as if I was writing it.
By the way I was in berlin when the wall came down and played a part in breaking it down and brought back a few pieces which were unfortunately thrown away by some workers when I moved home because they thought it was useless pathar and I was so heartbroken but at the same time wished I could be as simple-minded as them and treat things with such dispassion!!
Aapke muh mein ghee shakkar.
My Hindi is not that great since I am South Indian but I adore pakistani singers, I have met Ghulam Ali ji. had lunch with him once.
Freak out on Farida Khanum. Bhegum Akhtar Abida Parveen. Obviously Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. So as you can see I am anything but a Pakistan hater. I was just most distressed by whatever I read anytime I came on this forum and became so very petty.
Hope one day the seemingly impossible may come true and we all become true brothers and sisters again and may peace prevail. Ameen to that. Padma

wow. that must hv been a special moment near the berlin 'no longer' wall!
and meeting Ghulam Ali saab.
i loved what you wrote about being simple minded and dispassionate. it sounded
very buddhist lol! Non attachment?
too much attachment and feelings seem to cause most of the problems in the world
because proper judgement goes out the window then.
i get especially scared of crowds in the clutch of some strong destructive emotion
like at football/cricket games or a mass rally. the feelings are so strong that it
just takes a spark to ignite and explode.
your memories of the berlin wall are in an even safer place than those stones
the workers threw out,a place where they can never get lost - your heart.
take care
