The performances have been lovely!⭐️

16 July 2022. Father's Special. Plus promo of Ek Villain Returns.

Manoj Muntashir. Arjun Kapoor. Disha Patani.

Samaira. Tera Mera Pyaar Amar. As noticed from the promos, Samaira keeps improving every week. Her best so far, probably. Significant reduction in nasality as well.

Sayisha with Pawan. Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaaye. Sayisha continues to excel cement her place as one of the potential winners. The low notes in this song were so well done. A different side of Sayisha was on display today compared to past songs and she excelled in this too

Rituraj. To be honest I haven't heard his first song before. But he samg welll. The second was Tu Mera Dil Tu Meri Jaan. One of his best performances so far. The feel, the emotions, the nuances. Amazing. We saw a promo of Aditya singing with Rituraj but wasn't shown in the episode!

Mani. Yeh Jo Des Hai Mera. No idea how that fit into the Father's Special theme 🙄. Mani did his usual stuff. He sings well but they have really pigeonholed him!

Pranjal. Ektara from Wake Up Sid. The irony of the song name versus the fact that he didn't play his Duitara was totally lost on TCT 😄. But coming to his performance, he did very well. Another performance of today where we saw a different side to the contestant. He deserved both the DHD and SSN that he got.

Soyab with Mani. 2nd performance for Mani today. Ishaqzaade. Difficult for me to day who did better than whom. Haven't really liked the original song and didn't like this one either. Both have incredible capability to hit the high notes and they showed that once again.

Faiz. Main Phir Bhi Tumko Chahunga and Man Mast Magan. Also Teri Galiyan at the end on request by Disha Patani. So my wish list song did come but not by the singers I had wished for 😄. Faiz once again shining and proving his place as a potential winner. He has a magical quality to his voice the way Pawandeep has.

Other noteworthy things:

Alka Yagnik is back but no word of acknowledgement in the TCT script 🙄

Manoj Muntashir - I really like his writing.

Good to finally see a real violin in the band. So far it has always been done by the synth.

The guy with the accordion: I don't know his name but he is the one we see in the HR videos on the keyboard.

Ronnie is back with the guitar.

Sayisha standing up and applauding Manoj Muntashir 's lines - so cute. I wonder what the little brain really understood about the profound lines he speaks 🙂

Pawandeep doing a wonderful job once again in his mellow singing.

Pawandeep and Arunita. Glances during PD's song, smiles during Samaira's song... Alka Yagnik inadvertently turning towards Arunita when PD started singing...

Sayli Cam is getting to be too much now. They showed Arunita's pic with her dad and if you expected the camera to pan to her - oh! How wrong were you! The camera panned to Sayli looking to her left, we can only assume at Arunita. I mean... What can one say, really?!

Looks like Javed Ali is like one of us regular people who waits till the hair becomes unkempt before finally having a hair cut like he seemed to have done this week 😄

17 July Father’s special

Samaira - an easy song rendered beautifully. V nice. Good that Sayli didn’t join. This girl is the one who has shown maximum growth so far. 👍

Sayisha-PD:- the most popular duo with a very popular song. Sayisha - great show as usual. Pawan sounded a bit hoarse, as if he had cold, or maybe he was just being subdued to give Sayisha the spotlight.

Rituraj :- yet another sixer from him. Superb. 👌👌. I was almost singing ‘ yes, I love you Richu’… 💕. One of the finest performances today.

Mani :- He is made to sing at a v high pitch, he did justice to the song, but that’s about it. Swadesh title song has no connection with Father’s Day, so I thought they will put in a scripted request. Oh well, they didn’t bother.. 😀

Pranjal :- he was awesome. A different style amazingly rendered . After a long time enjoyed it thoroughly. His voice too suited the song Ik Tara. Moreover the Bengali lines gelled well with the song

Soyab -Mani face off :- First of all, I fail to understand the need for this. Could’ve been just a Soyab solo. Between the 2, I found Soyab better.

Faiz:- Back in his grove , he was amazing. This kid’s voice has a unique appeal - from the heart straight to the heart that makes you lose your heart 😊♥️, yet there is a freshness that is his stamp.

* Rituraj yet again denied of DHD or SSN

* Sayli Cam denying us of Aru’s expression when the pic of hers with Dad flashed on the screen.

* No Dad segment for Faiz, as well as Soyab. Since both performed today, it was so unfair to exclude that part.

* A visibly overwhelmed & emotional Adi as the proud dad.. the baby is way too cute.
* Pawan’s side-glances, & Aru eyes closed lost in PD’s voice…

The top performances for me today were

Faiz, Rituraj ,Pranjal,Sayisha - in that order.

Finally… I thought Pranjal was strumming the duitaara when he started & was about to call off the hunt for Fakir 🤣 - I was proved wrong, the hunt continues… 🤣

Overall a good episode without unnecessary drama.

Pawandeep's singing - now that you mention it, I think that was it - a bit hoarse. That might have been a cold or sore throat picked up from the outdoor shooting in Pithoragarh. And that would explain why Arunita didn't sing - she may have a sore throat too. She is known to have respiratory allergies, and that outdoor shooting in the hills may have triggered an allergy.

PD - Mani - Dholak: oh I missed this. Distracted ny the phone! Need to watch that part again.

Pranjal - even I thought the same. Instinctively his hand went up perhaps and then he remembered just in time that this is a prop, and stopped 😄

Alka Yagnik doesn't indulge in general teasing like HR, and she has a special bond with Arunita right from her childhood. Ergo, if Alka Yagnik instinctively looked at Arunita when PD started singing such a romantic song, that means she knows they are a couple.

1st post on this forum - about "Arudeep". Above post which got me the Rockerz badge - also about "Arudeep" 😄

Caught up with the episode and loved it. Only some filler drama. Some of the performances could have been longer. Soyeb should have sang alone 🤔

Everyone delivered great performances. My favorites in order -

Faiz: His voice And he sang soo well. Phir bhi tumko chahunga was literally giving me the original vibes. I had goosebumps and got emotional during Mast Magan for some reason. Was completely lost hearing him sing ❤️

Pranjal: One of my favorite songs, rendered beautifully. He did absolute justice in his own style. It suited his voice well.

Rituraj: Enough is being said about this kid. He never leaves anything to be desired. Beautiful performance 😳

Mani-Soyeb: Enjoyed it. As usual, I find Soyeb's singing much more attractive than Mani's. Mani's style is kinda different. He does some variations in his voice, which doesn't suit all songs. Also wish Soyeb had more part in this one.

Sayisha-Pawan: Wished it was longer. Sayisha as usual, nailed it. Didn't feel Pawan was hoarse or anything. He sounded fine to me.

Mani: Unnecessary high pitch for Aisa Des Hai Mera 🤔 ARR must have cringed. But he sang well what was given. Just wish they stop attempting to ruin the original with these high-pitched variations.

Samaira: Not a difficult song. Totally in her zone. She sang beautifully, though way behind the rest in competition I felt.

Manoj Muntashir must charge a lot for all those shayris he does, which I am assuming are original 😆 Love his poetry. Though didn't feel much like a Father's special. Good to see Alka back. HR didn't have any role today. Javed's only part was wah-wahing anytime Mani was present 🤪 I'm just glad TCT has toned down the drama a bit.

Samaira has shown the most improvement compared to where she started, but you are right that it also because she has the most room for improvement. I would have eliminated her before Vishwaja and Sayantani for sure, maybe even before Harshita.

I was watching the key performances again. Sayisha, Rituraj, Faiz.

One thing I noticed about Sayisha. I have seen every week that during her performances she usually shuffles her weight between her feet, moving in sync with the rhythm. During Faiz's second song she was in the group providing back up vocals and she was doing the same shuffle throughout. Totally engrossed in the music. 👍
