12x09: First Blood Review

First of all... dont know why the episode was named First Blood... 😕 i was under the impression that it had something to do with Lucifer's spawn. Anyway..

This was the 250th episode of SPN.. and it was... well not very historic. The whole scene of Dean and Sam being captured by the Secret service was very unrealistic. When the guys could have easily escaped with Cass and Kelly. and that whole interrogation of Dean and Sam by those agents was laughworthy.. they have endured worse... Hell, Purgatory and escaped unharmed..and they lose their minds to sign a deal with Billie?! what the?!

Cass hunting Vampires?! 🥱 His character arc has taken a turn for the worse! The entire point in scenes with Mary was just to emphasize their helplessness in not being able to find the brothers.. which made me bored

The escape from the prison and hunting down the Winchesters was thrilling, but the brothers have been captured and have dodged earlier attempts to track and capture them, so it was more a been-there-done-that kind of thing..

the only thing which (only slightly) had my interest was Billie saying breaking Deals with Repears had consequences on cosmic levels.. but i feel this too will be given a humorous angle, and brushed under the carpet. Whether it will be Cass or the Winchesters facing the consequences will make no difference. Each will rush to the rescue of the other.

Mary joining hands with the BMOL...?! Honestly, i dont know how to react.. the writers better give a damn good reason for the BMOL acting the way they are.. carefully creating an image of eradicating monsters off the face of the Earth, while having something dastardly cooking in their bunkers.

Thoughts, anyone???? 😳

I found the epi good infact one of the best this season. This is coming from someone who can barely remember what the hell is going this season and I mean literally I have no clue , its all blank .

Agree with ur been there done that theory it was no surprise

I always wanted Sam and Dean behind the bars with actual cops and all. I love those early day episodes where they used to be caught randomly. It makes the story a bit real cause u know they are pretty much a repeat offender for every kind of crimes that exist in the world.I wish the story was stretched and not just one epi thingy. Hate BMOL for killing them and thus killing any possibility to continue the track. Another Hendrickson type storyline would have been fun.

I already knew Cas and Mary will do nothing so I didn't even blink when that is exactly what happened. Like I always say if they truly put Cas and his powers into the story they will actually have no story cause he will be solving them in a second. So they pray to God everyday that we get partial amnesia and forget he has any angel like powers that can be useful to someone because they are just average writers with very less vision left to conitnue this show.

Loved the chase between the feds and Winchesters mainly because how they handled it. I was skeptical that if they kill anyone it will be bad cause these are humans not monsters just doing their job and I m glad for a change they didn't kill humans. Also the idea of the hunted becoming the hunter is always my fav .Also the whole solitary confinement is an actual technique to break a person. It works cause it turns people insane when they have nothing to do for months and years but stare at the wall and have no one to talk to.If there is a real hell I m sure this is how one will be punished. No torture no punishment just sit there quietly staring at a wall for eternity😆

Yep... the execution of the plot this season has been patchy and looks hurried in certain scenes.
Agree with you, this track of cat and mouse should have been stretched, but the BMOL have a habit of eliminating anything and everything, that the Winchesters have come across and saved/not killed. So no surprises there..

Cass has been shown powerless for many seasons now.. God knows what made Misha say Cass is back to the Cass of season 4.. plus the angels were shown so much more powerful back then.. now anybody and everybody can kill and torture an angel.. what I saw in the promo for the latest episode, again Angels are being hunted and again, Cass was tortured.. What back story of Cass will be shown... I cant imagine..

I fully agree that solitary confinement is a slow torture and it does make you spill your darkest secrets.. but with Sam and Dean, who have already suffered so much in Hell, Purgatory, Lucifer's torture.. Sam even mocked the female BMOL saying he had already been tortured by the devil, what more could she do to torture him?!... such people being tortured by solitary confinement, so much so that they agreed to a deal with Billie to simply escape their confinement is what I cant stomach..

if u ask me the epi was quite boring nothing epic nothing out of the blue happened 🥱

the funny part was that the boys got irritated by solitary?they have been through much worse and even more hilarious part was that noone cud find them😆

As for Cas, is it just me or was Cas's reaction to dean gone missing was that of a wife losing her husband?🤣he looked dead his eyes were swollen red throughout the epi and in the end he said u mean too much to me and i cant lose u type of stuff , wth was that all abt?😆

The one thing.. I can defend.. Mary and Cass couldn't find out where Sam and Dean are being kept is coz it is a top-secret location, not known to many... and plus they cant be shown to be as effective as Sam and Dean are in finding out where anybody is.. 😛 plus what all happened in this episode is bound to have long-time repercussions for the rest of the season.. Mary joining hands with BMOL and Cass breaking a Repear deal.

well, Cass has more than a intimate relation with the Winchesters, plus did you see Dean's reaction to this entire drama?! 😛 He was more than touched.. 😆 and this was the makers way of keeping the fandoms happy and ready to watch the future crap dished out to them

ok.. Purgatory to a certain extent, i could understand.. Dean made friends like Benny and killed so many monsters, and that adrenaline rush, he enjoyed being in Purgatory... understandable to a certain extent, but Hell?? Both for him and Sam, Hell was a torturous experience. Deal with a Repear wasnt feasible then?

almy madam hasnt watched the entire episode, has she ??? 😛 Skip karke dekhenge, toh aise chote chote mistakes kabhi kabhi ho jati hain..😈 Cass had indeed asked for Crowley's help.. but Crowley showed his true black color.. of being a demon.. refused to help Cass..

Mary.. yes.. but Cass?????? the makers have forgotten he is an angel. 😡 he couldnt smite the hell out of the BMOL! 🥱 then how can he be expected to teleport Dean and Sam out of an unknown location?! The Theme of the season being Men of Letters.. they arent going to go away very easily. 😳

Crowley was all.. the Winchesters will find a way out of all this.. it is indeed their captors and not them who are in trouble and going to regret it. (which was true eventually.. the BMOL killed all of the SS)

Plus C has his own backstory.. which will be somehow tied into the Winchesters eventually. They still havent shown what happened to Lucifer.. whether he went back into the cage or escaped into another vessel.. or his spawn.
