Nah, he said it in an actual interview [i cant find the source right now and im not combing through my posts to look for it] but he basically said that even he didn't know he was god; even though he doubted whether he was a normal prophet, he didn't really believe that he was god. but because he was writing the winchester gospel, loosely taken as a new bible, he's more than just a simple prophet. if metatron didn't exist, he would be a scribe, but there were no "scribes" of god, and prophets don't just suddenly resurface after a period of absence. remember that there was no prophet //properly// chosen even though kevin tran was clearly missing in action.

[keeping in mind that he didn't disappear, he dissipated. now idk about you, but i aint seen no prophet doing that]

Reminds me how actors auditioned for something, and landed up doing something. I remember Richard telling that he auctioned for playing a janitor , which turned into a trickster and ultimately Gabriel 🤣 Even Jensen autioned for Sam at first 😆

Anyway, I got sidetrack there.

But Chuck being God, is no where in the canon. Its basically what fans thought he was, cause obviously he is not a normal prophet [ err as much normal a prophet can be] . In fan fiction he was there to represent Eric, who is basically the creator of supernatural ,giving his approval to the fandom.

Personally I like the whole mystery around Chuck's character in the canon , and like it to stay that way.

Their friendship is so adorable and beautiful, from colleagues to now almost families..God Bless them man.
