The fall finales of THE ORIGINALS
and SUPERNATURAL paired to give
The CW its most-watched (2.45
million) Tuesday night in more than
five years (since 11/4/2008),
according to preliminary Live Plus
Same Day Nielsen ratings for
Tuesday, December 3, 2013.
Last night's episode of THE
ORIGINALS was the series most
watched (2.44 million) to date, and
tied its series high in adults 18-49
(1.1/3). THE ORIGINALS was up
+3% week to week in total viewers,
up +8% in women 18-34 (1.4/5),
and was even week to week in adults
18-34 (1.0/4) and in adults 18-49.
SUPERNATURAL matched its season
highs in adults 18-34 (1.1/4), and in
women 18-34 (1.4/4), and tied its
second-highest rating in adults
18-49 (1.1/3). It was its most
watched episode (2.45 million) since
the season premiere on 10/8/13.
Week to week, SUPERNATURAL was
up +38% in adults 18-34, +2% in
total viewers, and +56% in women
18-34.
The CW ranked #3 for the night
(8-10 pm) among the broadcast
networks in adults 18-34. In the
9-10 pm time period,
SUPERNATURAL drew more total
viewers than Fox, and tied Fox in
A18-49.
Week to week, The CW's Tuesday
night (8-10 pm) was up +11% in
adults 18-34 (1.0/4), +27% in
women 18-34 (1.4/4), +3% in total
viewers and steady in adults 18-49.
For the night, The CW matched
season highs in adults 18-34,
women 18-34, and adults 18-49.
THE ORIGINALS and SUPERNATURAL
both see significant time-shifting and
digital viewing, beyond same-day
broadcast viewing. THE ORIGINALS
has averaged a +73% increase this
season in Live + 7 Day viewing over
Live + Same Day among adults
18-34, an +86% gain in women
18-34, a +68% jump in adults 18-49
this season, and a +53% increase in
total viewers. SUPERNATURAL
averages a +46% gain in adults
18-34, a +47% increase in women
18-34, a +45% jump in adults 18-49,
and a +41% increase in total viewers
in L+7 versus L+SD data.
SUPERNATURAL has also seen a
+52% increase in its digital viewing
versus last season, while THE
ORIGINALS has already become The
CW's second most-streamed series
across its digital platforms.

Jared Padalecki says he may live
tweet during Supernatural'
midseason finale
According to a Dec. 3, 2013 tweet by
"Supernatural " star Jared Padalecki ,
he may be taking to his Twitter page
tonight during the show's midseason
finale and "live-tweet" with an
unnamed "buddy."
The episode, "Holy Terror," is
described by TV Guide as, "An angel
war begins and a massive amount of
angels are slaughtered. Sam and
Dean investigate and run into Castiel
who is soon captured and tortured.
Meanwhile, Dean questions Ezekiel's
demands and wonders if it is time to
tell Sam the truth."
Jared called tonight's episode "EPIC"
in a Dec. 2 tweet and today took to
his Twitter page with several more
messages, including, "There's still
PLENTY of time to cancel whatever
plans u had for tonight so u can
catch our mid-season finale! #
supernatural."
Just a few hours later he added, "So,
I'm thinking of calling in sick so I
can live tweet with y'all tonight. Will
you have my back? #supernatural."
And just about an hour ago, Jared
wrote, "if yall agree to watch tonights
episode & get everybody u know to
watch, I might be able to convince a
buddy of mine to live-tweet with me."
No telling if the mystery "buddy" is
Jensen Ackles, who plays Dean on
the show, or maybe Misha Collins
who masterfully portrays Castiel.
The " Supernatural " midseason finale

After a relatively lacklustre season 7,
the consistently underrated
Supernatural was back on form.
Brothers Dean (Ackles) and Sam
(Padalecki) Winchester continue
fighting demons and killing things
while bickering, this time with an arc
that sees them attempting to lock the
gates of Hell forever. As you'd
expect of this particular pair of
walking disasters, everything that
could go wrong does so, amid
brilliantly bizarre episodes that see
them fighting cartoon tropes, golems,
time-travellers, LARPers and gods.
This season also features a
Winchester wielding Mjolnir, just in
case you needed some superheroics
for good measure.
Best episode: Bitten, an almost
Winchester-free story of werewolves
and found footage.

spread quickly earlier this week
causing concern amongfans across
the world. However the January 2014
report has now been confirmed as a
complete hoax and just the latest in a
string of fake celebrity deathreports.
Thankfully, the actor best known for
his role on the television series
Supernatural is alive and well.

Rumors of the actor's alleged demise
gained traction on Thursday after a
R.I.P. Misha Collins ' Facebook page
attracted nearly one million of likes'.
Those who read the About' page were
given a believable account of the
American actor's passing:
"At about 11 a.m. ET on
Thursday (January 02, 2014),
our beloved actor Misha Collins
passed away. Misha Collins
was born on August 20, 1974
in Boston. He will be missed
but not forgotten. Please show
your sympathy and
condolences by commenting on
and liking this page."
Hundreds of fans immediately started
writing their messages of condolence
on the Facebook page, expressing
their sadness that the talented 39-
year-old actor was dead. And as
usual, Twittersphere was frenzied
over the death hoax.
Where as some trusting fans
believed the post, others were
immediately skeptical of the report,
perhaps learning their lesson from
the huge amount of fake death
reports emerging about celebrities
over recent months. Some pointed
out that the news had not been
carried on any major American
network, indicating that it was a fake
report, as the death of an actor of
Misha Collins' stature would be major
news across networks.
A recent poll conducted for the
Celebrity Post shows that a large
majority (73%) of respondents think
those Misha Collins death rumors are
not funny anymore.
Misha Collins Death Hoax Dismissed
Since Actor Is Alive And Well'
On Friday (January 03) the actor's
reps officially confirmed that Misha
Collins is not dead. " He joins the
long list of celebrities who have been
victimized by this hoax. He's still
alive and well, stop believing what
you see on the Internet, " they said.
Some fans have expressed anger at
the fake report saying it was
reckless, distressing and hurtful to
fans of the much loved actor. Others
say this shows his extreme
popularity across the globe.

Misha Collins Highest-Paid Actor in
the World
It's been a rough year for the actor,
but at least he has his millions of
dollars to ease the pain. 39-year-old
Misha Collins has taken the No. 1
spot on People With Money's top 10
highest-paid actors for 2014 with an
estimated $75 million in combined
earnings.

highest-paid actors
In 2011 it looked like the actor's
spectacular career was winding
down. Suddenly, he was back on
top. People With Money reports on
Friday (January 3) that Collins is the
highest-paid actor in the world,
pulling in an astonishing $75 million
between December 2012 and
December 2013, a nearly $40 million
lead over his closest competition.
People With Money's factors
In compiling this yearly list, the
magazine considers factors such as
upfront pay, profit participation,
residuals, endorsements and
advertising work.
The American actor has an estimated
net worth of $215 million. He owes
his fortune to smart stock
investments, substantial property
holdings, lucrative endorsement
deals with CoverGirl cosmetics. He
also owns several restaurants (the
" Fat Collins Burger " chain) in
Washington, a Football Team (the

Filming is slated to begin Saturday in

Dean-Crowley Alliance and More

Somebody get Dean ( Jensen Ackles )
a box of tissues, a bottle of whiskey
and some serious ammo, because
the eldest Winchester is hurting bad
when Supernatural returns Tuesday.
But Dean doesn't have time to sit
around and mope. He's got to get his
brother Sam ( Jared Padalecki ) back
and avenge the tragic death of Kevin
( Oscric Chau). Supernatural
showrunner Jeremy Carver chatted
with TVGuide.com about exactly how
Dean plans on pull it all off. Plus: He
tells us what's next for Castiel
( Misha Collins ) now that he has his
grace back, what Gadreel's real
intentions are and more.

No one saw Kevin's death coming.
Can you talk about the decision to
kill him and how it affects things
going forward?
Carver: We were basically like, "How
can we screw with people the
most?" [ Laughs ] The thing is, we
came to this with heavy hearts, but it
was where the story took us. He's
one of the most beloved characters
for us to write for and have in the
show so... it was not done with any
glee. But it would take a towering
death to have a certain effect on
Dean that would affect the brother's
relationship in a way that we're
moving. And unfortunately it's his.

Now that Kevin's dead, will we
encounter the new prophet this
season?
Carver: That will be addressed.
There's this outstanding question of
when one prophet goes, another is
sent in his or her place. So it is
addressed.

How is Dean handling everything
emotionally?
Carver: Dean is understandably
crushed by that death and being
betrayed by Gadreel. And I think he
feels incredibly guilty about all of this
and incredibly determined to right his
wrongs. Which then gets him on a
path of making certain alliances I
think he wouldn't have needed if
things had gone a little tighter.

Speaking of weird alliances, Dean
and Cas are teaming up with Crowley
( Mark Sheppard) to expel Gadreel in
Tuesday's episode. How does that
go?
Carver: In the vein of the best buddy-
cop comedies, it's zany. I think that's
one of the alliances I'm speaking
to,and it is predictably tense and
funny at the same time [because] in
having such unlikely cohorts, it cant
help but spill over into fighting and
sarcasm. But on the deeper level, it's
a very interesting thing because
Crowley is going through his own
thing this season. So, a lot of our
major characters this season are
going through something of a
personal crisis. And to watch these
guys puff themselves up almost
playing the roles they're accustomed
to playing with each other, that
faade drops away eventually and we
get some really really interesting
interactions between some
characters that wouldn't normally
open themselves up to each other.

Are we going to see more of Dean
and Crowley working together in the
future?
Carver: You might...

What can you tell me about who
Gadreel really is and what his
intentions are?
Carver: Well, we introduced one
element of who he was... in terms of
having been the guard at the Garden
of Eden. He let the serpent in and
made one enormous mistake that had
him thrown into prison " angel jail, if
you will. So, we thought the angel
that Metatron exploits in Episode 9 is
an angel who has been locked away
for a millennia and who is probably
desperate to reclaim his name and
his image. That he may be doing so
in not the best way will be his cross
to bear. He's an interesting guy who
we're only going to learn more and
more about as the season
progresses.

Castiel stole another (evil!) angel's
grace. Will we see consequences of
having a grace that isn't his?
Carver: First off, by having his grace
again and being an angel, Cas is
going to find himself back in the fray
in a heavier way than he maybe even
thought. And he's going to have to
face certain decisions sooner than
later that involve the angel war that is
going on. He will be heavily
influenced by his time spent as a
human. In terms of having another
angel's grace in him, it's something
he's not necessarily focused on, but
it's something that he may have to
deal with in the future.

How will Cas' time as a human
change him and his outlook going
into the war?
Carver: We deal with it rather directly
in an episode coming up, so I don't
want to take words out of his mouth.
But I just have to say that it's
impossible for Cas to live his life as
an angel the same way as before
having been a human. There are
lessons and feelings that he had as a
human that absolutely influence the
decisions he makes as an angel
today, not always to the best and not
always for the worst. But he is a
forever-changed angel.

Are there any standalone episodes
coming up you can tease?
Carver: We have an episode [airing
Jan. 28] where we finally get an
answer to where Garth [ DJ Qualls ]
has been. We're going to have an
episode where the boys are working
a case that seems to have been
hijacked by The Ghostfacers. We are
going to have a few episodes that
dive into some really juicy history
regarding the Men of Letters and
we're going to meet some great
overall characters that were
associated with the Men of Letters
back in the day.

You've previously mentioned that the
introduction of Cain [ Timonthy
Omundsen ] in Episode 11 was going
to inspire a new story line this
season. Can you expand on that?
Carver: He's a fascinating character
with a fascinating past, and we put
something of a twist on what is
considered to be... known history ...
He's a wonderful character and he
does sprout some wonderful
mythology for us to be dealing with
as the season continues.

Is it going to be tied into the war for
Heaven?
Carver: I think we're going to see
everything, all these different strains,
starting to be tied together as the
season progresses.
