Hello everyone!

A silent reader of topics in this forum - more than anything I'm disturbed by the recent "development" in Pratima's character. The bestest momma on the show.

She basically voices our forums opinion in the show with Sharad and is pro-Suhani more than Suhani's own mother possibly! Getting rid of Soumya and another character who has started speaking out against Dadi...I love her to bits!

Why is she suddenly forgetting names! Ramesh is Shyam, Bhavna becomes Geeta and Soumya becomes Radha...

Cvs sunlo, haath mat laga na! - Doodh mangoge to kheer denge, Pratima mangoge to cheer denge!!

It suggests Alzheimer's syndrome possibly?? (unless it's just bad editing) but I will cry 😭

Please share comments and show love! I don't want nothing happening to this great character

Alzheimer's? That sounds like a scary possibility. Is it one of the symptoms? 😭

They do focus on her sickness intermittently, but I thought the sickness was basically intended to push Yuvani together.

Alzheimer's? That sounds like a scary possibility. Is it one of the symptoms? 😭 I don't mean this next sentence to sound insensitive so I apologise, but I've only ever been accustomed to such illness in movies, e.g. Amitabh Bachchan in Black. It is one of the symptoms, yes.

I can't see the future now from this development, it does pull them away, for example Dadi taking advantage and messing around with the medication and then blaming Suhani but then with Suhani's care for Pratima, Yuvraj is also fond of Suhani due to the mutual love they have for his mother. It's getting me worried... if it's making Pratima's health worse, the outcome can't be good. I don't want Yuvani to come together at this cost - it's too big. (Unless Pratima recovers as a result of course! :( )

Omg I never thought of Alzheimer's just checked the systems and 1 of it is memory loss. She has been shown to get forget names from the beginning of the show. Oh man I thought they where just gona kill her of eventually coz she always looks sick.

I will honestly cry if there is anything wrong with pratima because she is one of the nicest people on the show!!😭

hopefully she doesnt have alzheimer's and i dont think she does but there could be a chance😒

i dnt think that it could be that as well wnt the doctor have picked it up the last time she was sick bt just imagine if the cvs actually showed this lol they hate doing research they will ruin prats

@sandiab - Yes, Alzheimer's is an initial suggestion - It could transform into anything, it's the symptom for many illnesses, I'm not sure which way the CVs will take it but they're surely hinting so it shouldn't be overlooked! Haha, wow you're blunt. Erm, I'm hoping they don't just "kill her off" she's a vital aspect of the show.

@Aarti_16 - what do you think it is? Yes, Alzheimer's is a very early and initial observation. What are your views? Thanks for commenting :)

@zainy215 😃 Thank you for commenting - I smiled at the really sweet comment. I know, it's always the nice ones!! The dadi crew is still going strong which is infuriating, I lost even more respect/all respect when they started meddling with Pratima's medication. Pure evil and for what? Showing Suhani down. Not worth it. The CVs are definitely doing something though, they made it a point in yesterday's telecast. Fingers crossed it's temporary whatever it is!

Alzhiemer's is a specific form of dementia. While memory loss or mix-ups may be a symptom, it is not necessarily so. Pratima has apparently had this problem for a long time, and though I didn't catch all these recent instances you mention, I think they may be a form of reminder for viewers, either linked to the revelation or, maybe, further back, like why BQ dislikes Prats.
Most of all, I don't think the cvs have the thought processes to give Prats any form of dementia--I don't think any of our serials could handle that. Which means IF it's so, we lose Prats because they will get stuck and kill her off so I really, really hope not.

@anita_m - Thank you for your comment. Agreed, I think I've missed out on the initial episodes of SSEL, so I've not known what they've shown of Pratima's health only that it's not at it's best. Who is BQ? (Dadi I presume?) It can't be written off completely, in order for there to be a twist I think CVs are constantly experimenting with characters and bringing in more real issues into serials. It acts as a reminder sure, EHMMBH and Nia as a cancer survivor. It's sad but it gives light at the end of the tunnel, a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow and so there may be something in Pratima's illness too which will turn out to something good in the end. That's still real. And yes, lack of research and not knowing may lead to that but again they're called CVs for the same reason. Who knows what lies around the corner...
