"Yuvraj, leave Suhani alone." Yuvraj quickly pulls away to look at his mom, "What?" Pratima puts her hand on his cheek, "Just for a couple of days. Suhani world just shattered in front of her eyes. Today she was forced to confront the truth of her best friend, her husband past and her father deceit all at once. She has been struck with this uncomfortable truth, don't you think she need time to think it thru. By confronting her now you will just be giving her stress. Give her some time." Yuvraj nods his head, "But what did I do that she didn't think to talk to me before leaving. She came to know of my past feeling for Soumya and she just left. She didn't care to speak to me, she just packed her bags and left like I did something wrong. I was forced into this marriage but I committed to it. I am not in love with her but I gave it everything I had, doesnt that mean anything to her. Pratima had only saw him this upset when his father had passed away, "Yuvraj I agree that you didn't want this and you tried your best. But a wife and husband relationship needs more then that, respect is needed in every relationship but love makes it much more. You are the reason she came here. Now you have to convince her why she needs to stay. I love you both and both of you have suffered alot. Yuvraj before bringing her back make sure the reason is something more." As a tear is about to fall from his eyes, he turns and quickly lays his head on his mother lap. "Ma I don't think I will be able to sleep tonight, can you stay with me?" Pratima begins to pat his head. "Don't worry tomorrow is a new day. But tell me why didn't you tell that Suhani dad blackmailed you." "I didn't want you to worry." Yuvraj thinks for a while. "Ma she will come back, right?" "Yes Yuvraj, she will come back to her love ones." Yuvraj slowly begins to fall asleep in Pratima lap.
Suhani gets out of the car. The driver leaves the suitcase next to her. She grabs the suitcase and walks up to the door. Old memories of her and Soumya were playing in her head like a movie as she knocked on the door. A member of the home opens the door. "Suhani what are you doing here this late." "I need a place to stay." she said as she wiped the rain off her eyes. "where is my mind, come in, come in." seeing her getting soaked in the rain. Both of them walk in. "Can I go see Sharma aunty." "of course." She begins to walk down the hall pulling her suitcase with her. She slowly replays how carefree her life was with Soumya and this place. She stops as she looks at a picture of her and Soumya. Sharma aunty grabs her shoulder. She turns and wipes her tears. "Suhani, is everything ok. What are you doing here this late and this suitcase." She never thought about this. Of course she would ask her this question. All she thought of this being her second home. A place she knew she could run to if she needed help, not that she ever needed to run to this place before. But now she felt like she belonged no where else. She stumbled for an answer. "Look at me asking you question, you are soaking wet. Come." Sharma aunty looks at Soumya picture as she leads Suhani to a room. "Suhani beta, change your clothes. I will bring you warm milk." Sharma aunty leaves Suhani lost in her thoughts. She didn't even think of what to tell her. She was tired. She felt so weak while changing her clothes. She kept thinking what will she tell aunty when she comes back. How would she be able to gather the words to tell her she felt homeless when she was in shock herself. How could her loved ones keep such a big secret from her. How could her dad let her continue to marry a guy who didn't love her. She quit asking herself questions when she heard a knock on the door. "coming." She walked towards the door wiping her tears. She unlocks the door and Sharma aunty comes in with milk. "Here you go turmeric milk, so you don't catch a cold." Suhani grabs the glass and says "thank you." " You welcome beta." Both walked and sat on the bed. "Now tell me why are you here so late." Suhani looks over to the time on the table and didn't realize it was so late. "I am sorry aunty I disturbed you." "No beta I didn't mean it like that. I was just worried what you were doing out so late." Suhani still wasn't able to find an answer. "It's ok beta, you look tired, go to sleep and we will talk in the morning." Suhani felt relieved as she got off the bed and walked towards the door. Sharma aunty turns as she held the door. "Do drink the milk it will give you relief." She walked out the door closing it behind her. Suhani looked at the glass and wondered if it would also give relief to her heart and mind. Suhani began to drink the milk as she walked over to switched off the light. She walked back to the bed and placed the glass down on the table next to it. She began to prepare herself to go to sleep as she placed a pillow on the side. She stopped to think of the first night her and Yuvraj slept on the same bed. She slowly placed her head on the pillow scared for what tomorrow might bring. Suhani grabbed her phone off the table and turned it on to see a missed call from Yuvraj. She places her phone down as a tear rolled down her cheek. The phone rang again, she quickly lifted the phone to see it was Krishna. She answered the call, quietly "Krishna." She hears him giggle on the other end. "Suhani let me guess, she refused to come." "Krishna, I think it's best you forget Soumya. She belongs to someone else." Krishna felt like she just ripped his heart out. But then a sense of confusion and realization came within him. "Suhani, I am sorry." Suhani also begins to giggle like Krishna before. "You knew as well, didn't you." Krishna understanding her pain. "I am sorry, I should have said something." Suhani wiping the tears that fell from her giggling. "If you had told me I would have never accepted it. It's good it came out the way it did." Krishna hears his flight being called. "Suhani I need to go I will call you when I land." "Ok Krishna. Have a safe flight." She ends the call and turns it back off. She places the phone back on the table and closes her eyes, slowly drifting off to sleep."
Yuvraj wakes up the next day to find a glass of juice on the table next to him. He takes a deep breath. He sits up on his bed. "It was just a dream." He begins to laugh. He jumps off his bed and runs to the bathroom.
Suhani woke up as the sunlight hits her face. She sits up to see Sharma Aunty at the window. "Good morning beta." "Good morning Aunty" she said with a smile. As Sharma Aunty walked towards her, everything from the night before began coming back to her. She grasped onto the bed sheets as she tired not to cry. Sharma Aunty placed her hand on her head as she sat down in front of her. "It's ok Suhani, cry." Suhani release the sheets and hugged her as she began to cry. Sharma Aunty gets worried. "Tell me what happened."
Yuvraj comes out of the bathroom and drinks the juice. He runs out of his room to the hall wondering where Suhani is. "Where is she? Probably in the kitchen." He runs to the kitchen with a smile. He find Ramesh walking around in the kitchen confused, talking to himself. "Ramesh, why are you talking to yourself? Where is Suhani?" Ramesh looks at him "Bhaiya, what are you saying, Suhani left yesterday night and I don't know what to make. Suhani use to tell me, I feel lost without her." Yuvraj is taken back, "She left!?" Ramesh looks at him as he turn pale. "Yes, are you ok? Do you need water." Yuvraj runs out of the kitchen as Ramesh calls after him. Yuvraj ran into his room and looked at the corner where he threw his phone. He feel onto his knees as he looked at his broken phone. A tear rolled down his cheek, Yuvraj quickly wiped it off and rushed to put the phone together. He pressed the button to turn on the phone. "Please let it work." The phone turns on, he looks up at the ceiling, " Thank you." As he looks down at his phone, he is shocked. Yuvraj stared at a crack on his phone that ran between him and Suhani on his wallpaper of the family. He insanily tried to wipe the crack away.
