Part 5

Days passed, there wasn't a day where Suhani wasn't taunted by dadi or Saumya, but whatever they said they made sure that it wasn't in front of Yuvraj. And as for Yuvraj, Suhani just couldn't understand what he was trying to prove... his behavior towards her was alien to her, he would sit with Pratima for hours but wouldn't look at her or talk to her, he would help her look after ma but wouldn't scold or snap at her like he usually does. And that was weird!

Suhani was sitting next to Pratima as she took her medicines, Suhani took the empty glass from Pratima and was about to walk out of the room,

"Suhani, mujhse baat nahi karoge?"

Suhani turned and faced Pratima, confused as to why she was asking that question, "baat?"

"Haan, jo tujhe itna pareshan kar raha hai... uske baren main,"

"Ma main teek hun, aap yeh,"

"Beta yahan aao," Pratima held out her hand, "I know, I know that you are hurt and I know you are feeling betrayed but beta mein ya Sharad even Yuvraj, we didn't do any of this to hurt you beta,"

"Ma please, leave all that... I don't want to talk about it,"

"No beta, nahi... mujhse yeh bhoj aur bardash nahi hota... whatever happened, yeh sab meri bhi galthi hai... tumhe patha hai jab Yuvraj told me..." she started telling everything she knew about him falling in love, telling her about it and the misunderstanding, when she finished and looked at Suhani, she knew that she had hurt her yet again but she wanted Suhani to know the complete truth, Pratima wanted Suhani to know how the confusion she created such a big mess by few decisions Soumya, her father and Yuvraj made. "Mein tumhari gunyadar hun beta aur mein tumse maafi mang rahi hun, mujhe..."

"Kya bhol rahe ho maa aap, nahi please don't say sorry, you are nothing less than my mother, I love and respect you more than anyone in this house agar mein yahan wapas aayi toh sirf aap khi wajah se... ma please,"

"I know beta, I know... but a mistake is a mistake, I spoilt your life,"

"Ma please, don't think like that, what you are doing now isn't good for your health and ma you know every mistake can be amended, hum iss galthi kho bhi teek kara denge, mera dhil tho tutna hi tah tab nahi hua toh ab ho gaya... bas, actually ma your mistake gave me an opportunity to be so near to the person I love... wahi kaafi hain ma, jee lungi main,"

"What are you saying beta?"

"I am saying ma, we shouldn't spoil yuvraj and Soumya's life for my happiness alone... sach kahun toh ab when I know that Yuvraj isn't happy with me, I'm not happy with this life either... toh,"

"Kaise pagal pan hai beta, yeh zindagi tumhe baghwan ne diya hai... jo bhi hua haan humhe galthi lag tha hai... par isme bhagwan khi marzi shamil hai, what you are thinking of doing is..."

"Aap pareshan math hona ma, this is the only way to set things right, I know you'll understand,"

Pratima shook her head, not wanting to agree but how can she be selfish? How can she force Suhani to live in this hell because her son was taking too long to realize his wife's value, his love for her and the importance of the relationship he shares with Suhani. She tried, as a mother who wishes the best for her son she tried to make him realize... but now it's her turn to play the role of being a mother to not only Yuvraj but also for Suhani, she was a Birla too and she would prove that good intentions are what makes a plan successful not pride or evil intentions.

"Ok beta, I wouldn't stop you actually I would help you get what you need, just give me a day, I have to make some preparations,"

"No ma..."

"Meine tumhari baat maani na?" she asked and Suhani nodded, "now it's your turn to listen to me," Pratima cupped Suhani's face as she smiled at her affectionately.
