complaint escalations & procedures!!

Hi all

I have been a IF member for some time now!!😳... and fully aware of the rules...😛

Now with the annoucements of the Dev team expanding ...i would like to congratulate everyone again...👏👏....

Now i would like to know if we members have a procedure or now what the escalation process in place for IF members to make complaints too...

On my time here i have heard story how members have pm other GM members or Dev members and total "Sorry not involved in this matter".. or 😕..No response and no action???😕

Would like to know where the rules are for normal IF members to escalation mis use of powers and authority? I feel as members this procedure may need to be formalized and re viewed under the current expansion of the team...

OMG Kats I sooo love you for bringing up this matter😳 I don't fave this problem now as I'm part of the dev. team but i certainly did face this problem as a normal member IFmembers should be able to PM any dev members and get a reply+action😛

I will surely bring this matter to the attention of IF dev. team😊

Like any good service we should have elected members of the Dev team who will look into complaints and escalations!!... Every customer service provider has one!... I think this procedure need to be addressed by the Dev team ... for so long many of us have witnessed and seen posted which have insighted a mis presentation of the Dev team... and many members not comment/PM about the matter.... Which is bad for IF?!😕

Im still shocked we have so many members yet they are afraid to post due to what they have seen and commented in the past... hence they never speak up! Bad if you ask me! an other issue IF is not addressing...😕

I hope this does get addressed and the procedure is documented and presented to the Forum Sooon....

sajibabe im sure there are alot of prime examples like your and other members with different stories ...hence why i posted this post... 😳

The Dev team is expanding as IF is more active and requires policing and the rules set are to be followed... 😊

but for complaints regarding Dev team members where does the normal IF memeber turn to???? 😕 ...im not having a dig at anyone here just would like to know if we long and senior members will be listened to and responded to but Dev team...

hi Catwoman,

I can't speak from the entire dev. team of IF.... but...we all work really hard to solve any problems that members have... and u guys should remember that we get a lot of PMs...so it might take to reply to them... or maybe we r discussing with fellow MODs and GMs about a problem, thats y it takes some time for us to reply...

We do not favor certain members... I personally try to reply to each and every PM I recieve...whether it is from a friend...or someone I have never talked to before...

and Sajibabe...about MIDs... we do PM the member first and ask whats happening... so if we know that two siblings r posting from same IP address...we don't say anything...

I know how u guys feel... about all these things... but we try out best to solve any problems that u guys have... I mean we r all here to work for this forum... so we make it a better place to be... and plz be patient with PMs... because we also have studies and other things to take care of ...outside IF...😃

Hey Kat,

About ur complain, the dev. team members usually try to solve as many problems as possible. Section mods usually take care of their forums and its local problems whereas CMs and GMs overlook these issues and other major ones. I know with the expansion, it may get confusing on whom to contact when help is needed.

I, as Sapna said, can't speak for the whole team either, though I can outline the rough procedure we usually use.

I get a number of PMs. Sometimes those PMs are asking if they can start a topic in a particular section or make the MOTW post in a section, etc. Now these issues are usually dealt with the local dev. team of that particular forum. If i don't visit that forum, I can't intrude and give out permissions to other members to start contests and stuff as these decisions are taken by the section's viewbie/mod team. So in this case, the most i could do is give them the names of the dev. team of that section and ask them to contact them or forward his/her PM to the section dev. team.

So such PMs ^^ are usually sent to the section's particular team. Members can find out who is in that section's dev. team by looking at this page:

If the PM is regarding a major fight or another major issue, then the dev. team tries to immidiately deal with it. But sometimes it gets a little overwhelming and one might forget to reply. I know its not always right but trust me we all try our best to reply to each and every PM and sooner or later, i do reply to all of them. But ur concern is not wrong at all and I am sure the dev. team would try their upmost best to reply to members :)

If u have complains against a dev. team member, u could always PM a GM and if that doesn't work, u can contact our Admins. 😛

I understand ur concern but I disagree that the dev. team favours people. Dev. team has their fav actors too but no dev. team member ever is baised because of that. Everyone has their favs but it shouldn't make one cloud their judgement of right and wrong.

About multiple IDs, I know there can be siblings but how can u explain members who make another ID to bash members? We HAVE had cases where members, who thought they wouldn't/couldn't be caught, made another ID and started posting all around the forum bashing and swearing and abusing everyone or actors. THen when caught, they claim its their family. Is that a valid excuse? And they have ALWAYS been given a benifit of doubt in such cases too.

Members are warned or banned only when they break the rules and bash/abuse/swear etc. Members have been warned from BOTH sides. Members aren't banned straight away but are given several warning chances in which they can reform and many members have done that. If u have a problem with any team member, trust me u can always contact dev. team member, mods, CMs, GMs or admins and we will be more than pleased to help out.

Sapna honey im not impliy that the dev team do not work so hard... I have seen what u guys do and know you guys have volunteered your time to esnure this place is friendly and a cool place to hang out... Im not questioning what you do here and we all know you guys do a fab job!👏... i understand it can be a long winded process....😊

Sapna many do! you may want to be fair but at time your loyalist toward fellow IF members you posted with does come to play during an incident ... it's "human" but many members have seen that type of behaviour on the forum.... Im sure you have in the past as well.

Im happy to know many normal members who contact you get a response!

Man in my line of work i gat over 50 emails a day all wanting a response and i have that habit on here tooo .... so i reply back... everyone has they own ethics about emails and pm... but GM\CM\MOD need to understand that a simple response during an incident requires a response to it sender.

I know how u guys feel... about all these things... but we try out best to solve any problems that u guys have... We all know this that this is a volunteer service you guys provide but i feel my question is fair who is policing the Dev team and what is the escalation process for normal members to complain too about GM\CM\MODs.... i feel not addressed by IF Dev team...if im mistaken.

OK Honey i have check alot of your documents and there is no procedure what so ever regarding this matter😕

IF requires a simple chain of style escalation process which is not docmented on the Forum..... "Very bad actuallY"😕

We all know the IF rules and im not questioning that all ...just pointing out that you are expanding in great numbers and you yourself require Policing!

A simple IF member may witness some thing in a post which involves a GM\CM\MOD or a Dev team member....

How does one complain about it too? Where is your document?

At this stage of expansion it is required.... which you are lacking?
