This is disturbing. Make your profile private, reach the limit with your inbox so that you don't receive PMs unless you delete one.

But all of this is moot if the site can't guarantee safety against MIDs. MIDS should be allowed to only make limited posts. PMs, testimonials etc should be off bound. These privileges shouldn't be given until someone becomes a goldie.

Is there a setting for who can write testimonials and on your scrapbook. With wall feature, maybe even that can be controlled.

Plus, complete restrictions on newbies. The 50 posts and 10 post limit is good, but maybe their access to user accounts could be snubbed off completely. Only after they hit groupbie and senior member (or upper ranks) can they actually send PM's, send buddy requests. Till then they can only contact the mods, maybe, for help and stuff.

I know it's super restrictive, but people who want to stay and not just an MID may accept it.

Also, who is seriously this free to make MID, itna time milta kaise hai, kaunse planet se ho ki sun tum logo ke 4 ghante extra ugta hai? The patience required to make a new gmail id and then a new if id, hate spread mein itna dedication lagate ho, kuch productive kaam hi kar lete!

More power and hugs to you grumpy, haters gonna hate, keep stanning Vicky!

That psycho fan would be behind jail if she met anyone us. I wouldn’t be surprised if she had seen us personally she wouldn’t go for violence.

This is so disgusting. I'm really very sorry you have to go through this.

Please do make your profile private in settings and turn tagging off for sometime, please block the account too, maybe that might make it difficult for the account to get to you atleast temporarily.

Baaki I'm appalled after seeing how disturbingly personal someone got over a celebrity. Noone deserves to have to see this kind of hate.

OP, I’m so sorry you have to deal with this again. I’m really not sure what options you have but I don’t think complaining to the mods will help because this has gone on for years now. I was active a few years back and literally everyone got these horrible PMs. Maybe file an actual physical complaint ?
No one gets this obsessed with a celebrity irl. This person is mentally sick or /and has a very very lonely life.
Also, keep posting whatever you’ve been posting. Don’t let them get to you. I know it’s easier said than done but just don’t open any DM sent by a newbie. Delete it without reading.

It's very easy to make new accounts here...but we don't want to discourage genuine new members also from making new accounts. Instead we want to make it difficult for mids to abuse this easiness of making account and harassing old members.

We want to let the site remain user friendly by not discouraging making a new account here or by making newbie's existence extremely boring/disappointing. Denying newbies every facility, apart from posting, can do that. Right now, denying even the ability to post more than 10 posts per day is already a huge deterrent.

So what can we do?

Mids harass through 3 ways -

1 posting vile content publicly though posts.

2 posting vile content through pms

3 posting vile content on scrapbook/testimonials or by tagging

Now -

1 Abuse through posts - posting vile content cannot be fully controlled. We already have denied posting links and images to newbies. Filters for abusive words, though effective, can still be bypassed using tricks. Apart from this, offensive content is often subjective so what one person may find offensive, others won't. So that decision can only be made by a mod. Maybe giving special powers to some more volunteers, making them viewbies, mods or other such things and letting them exclusively handle posts with abusive words or content could further help tackle this problem. If atleast one mod or viewbie or other such person is available online at all times then the tackling of such abuse will become very quick and efficient.

2 Abuse through pms - one option is to fully deny pm rights to newbies and even senior members. But that would be detrimental to even genuine new users, who would find their experience on site very discouraging and possible negative. However this can indeed be effective as it would make it very difficult for MIDs to harass old members through Pms. Second method is the one I already suggested i.e give options to members, in privacy settings, whether they want to receive pms of everyone, or only of buddies, or make it selective i.e. they can select everytime whether they want to accept pm from someone or reject it without opening.

3. Posting on scrapbook and testimonials and Tagging - that option has already been provided to users to allow only buddies post on scrapbook, testimonials or tag them. However it seems not many people are aware of this so a sticky thread can be made about educating users about privacy and safety concerns on this site and what are the various ways they can make their experience on site more safe and private.

Hope this post will help you find some permanent solution to this menace.

When I first started posting on the Bollywood forum. It must have been around 2015. I always heard Aish gets more than her fair share of trolling because she has the worst fandom. Honestly, beyond a few people being overly combative when it came to proving her career or personal life. I had not witnessed anything too crazy. But I had not ever observed or interacted with this person earlier. If this is what her fans are like then I can not blame members for being overly resentful towards Aish. Ok, so I like different celebrities then you. What have my parents done to you? They probably can not name 80 % of the celebrities in Bollywood beyond the really famous. That is how little they care for celebs.
