In the six days since I posted here that I didn't choose to follow someone who had blocked me, no one told me that the "Update Library" button on a fan fiction's page means "Unfollow."
I figured it out by trying it on my own fan fictions, but when I wanted to unfollow LizzieBennet's fan fiction on which I had commented, I noticed that she had deleted her fan fiction with all of the comments.
I have never PM'ed this person, nor written anything on her profile. All of my communication with her has been out in the open, polite, and within forum guidelines. Our disagreement started when I commented that the insulting word "Dutch" was not needed in her character's line, "Dutch courage gathered through lavish imbibing of alcoholic drink." She dared me to report her story to the moderators (I didn't), or say that "British stiff upper lip" and "Indian hospitality" are racist expressions; I explained the racist history of "Indian giver;" she called me "relentless;" and I let it go. I have never commented on her as a person.
I respect that India Forums allows members to block each other's profiles for whatever reason, and if anyone wants to delete a fan fiction to get rid of comments, that's her prerogative. However, I enjoy sharing ideas with other members in the "Submit a Writing Prompt" thread that was started by LizzieBennet. It would be against forum guidelines to start multiple threads for this purpose, just because one member doesn't like another. The public forum has moderators to deal with actual harassment. So, I request that India Forums should not extend too many powers of censorship to individual members.
