I am a reader and I find it awful that ppl steal writers hard work. Over the years I have lost opportunity to read very beautiful stories completely as writer had taken it away due to plagiarism . This should be stopped. More hard measures should be taken to protect writers hard work.

Thank you for making this thread Sandhya.

Plagiarism is a criminal act and should be treated like one.

I am not a writer but I can only imagine the effort writers put into a story right from its conception to giving words to their thoughts.

They do it because it is their passion, it is their hobby. And writers writing on IF do not earn anything out of it. It is only the love towards a few characters and love towards writing which makes them come here and write stories and as readers we get to read some amazing stories.

But not recognizing their hard work, some people just blatantly copy their works and claim as their own stories, which is highly unethical and criminal too.

If India Forums does not take measures soon, it is going to lose all the wonderful writers who come here just to spread some joy and beware IF, your website can be shut down due to lack of participation from its viewers.

It is high time IF took actions against plagiarism.

Kindly look into this matter treating this as top priority.

I agree with Sandhya's suggestion. There has to be some kind of a lock mechanism in place to prevent theft of intellectual property.

All the wonderful writers on India Forum spend many hours out of their busy schedules to plan and execute their stories. It is imperative that control measures be put in place to prevent despicable, unscrupulous thieves from stealing these stories.

I sincerely hope that the moderators of this forum will act upon our suggestions/recommendations and do something soon to STOP the spread of this malaise PLAGIARISM!!

Its a really good sugestion and i stand by you.
Its really upsetting to see people copy someone else work , like didn't you think how much hard work and time that person invested in with coming up with a creative piece of writing. I think read only is the best way to solve or atleast decrease this problem.

It's really a good suggestion. Typing a full chapter instead of copying will definitely discourage them.

I totally agree.

As a reader and on top of that, the stories in this forum act as a stress reliever for me.

The writers are putting extra effort and energy for the sake us. The readers
The are spending sleepless night and squeezing their brain to pour their heart for the sake of us.

Therefore, if there is any path that would help the writers to protect their work from thief (the plagarists), i wanted to help and support them.

These stories are a stress reliever, an inspriration, as well as brilliant work of art.

I will stand with you guys

We shouldn't even be having this petition or this discussion!! We shouldn't have had the issue of 'Revealed', a story by Chokri_ASR, stolen!! And to be posted by a girl on this very same forum.

This is not a new issue. Many, many talented writers have left the forum a while ago. Why hasn't anything been done by the IF Team? You do know that Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon forum is your biggest, right? And it probably has the most prolific fan fiction writers for the Hindi TV Industry, across the web! You surely don't want all of us to shut shop and take our work elsewhere, do you? Let me assure you, we don't want to go anywhere! This place has the biggest reach for writers and is a one-stop shop for readers. But something has to be done to put an end to this!

We stand united, for the love of one show, for the love of the beautiful story lines that these writers create and for the love of unforgettable characters that created magic on screen. Don't ruin it for us!

If you have a good technical team, this should be a snap to take care of! Do it!

Take action!! NOW!! Protect "your" writers! Give us a space where we feel safe and appreciated. It is the least you can do for the writers who have made India Forums so popular and a fun place to hang out.

Best,
Sin.
