Hi, I'm glad you mentioned this, b'cos I've been noticing it as well. These pop-ups are completely random and sometimes pop up when you click on any India-Forums link. A second or subsequent click on the same link is normal.
The site *Dev* mentions is one thing, but sometimes, I get a pop-up tab that won't let me leave. It offers me an anti-malware option, and then has 2 options of 'Stay on this page' or 'Leave this page', neither of which lets me leave the page. Only by some luck can I ever leave the page. Also, it doesn't make sense that I should get any software invitations to download: my OS is PC-BSD (a FreeBSD derivative) and the browser that I use is Chromium, which is the closest to Chrome that is available for this platform. Even Linux software wouldn't normally work here except w/ if run within jails, or recompiled for this platform. This is a something critical - we can't have malicious attacks on our computers courtesy this website. I know how important ads are for you, but if you are unable to do anything about their obtrusiveness, we'll have to bail. A site needing cash to survive is one thing, and a site being an active malware vector is quite something else. If you don't do anything about it, it won't be long before the anti-malware guys - Norton, Kaspersky, ESET, et al will have to add you to the list of blocked sites.

My browser is set so that all pop-ups open in a new tab. In this case, the site in question opened in a new tab, and then refused to let me leave that tab. I had to do some acrobatics w/ the tab before I could close it. Now, whenever a click on a link shows another tab about to open, I quickly close it before it can, so that it can't take over.
Although yesterday, that page closed when I clicked Leave this Page. Some improvement 🤔
Just want to confirm that we are serving all ads through Google and we do not serve Pop-Ups / Pop-Unders any longer.
Sometimes there are malicious adwares on visitors PC can cause this. I would recommend doing a full PC scan for malwares/adwares.Still I would check with Google to understand if there is something that we can do at our end to prevent such incidents.Regards
