Manasi was fabbb even after taking such a big risk and singing such a tough song...this is one of the rare times I could see she had to put more effort in than usual to focus on her singing cuz the song is so amazingly difficult but she did full justice to it and even added in more harkatein to make it difficult...kudos to her...she is not a complacent person to just sing songs that are easy for her.

Alisha was just laughable...I challenge her to manage to even sing 1% of this...and does she even KNOW what this "murkiyaan" word means or is it that she just copies it off of whatever Anu Malik is saying...lol

And interesting to know that more ppl are beginning to notice the poor judging...on what planet did Ragini deserve the same score as Manasi?? Especially after the way she started off zoobi doobi...my ears are still hurting...Ragini needs to stop singing like this seriously.

I don't care what Alisha said but how CAN they give Manasi and Ragini the same scores. Don't they HEAR the difference...idiot, jahil judges.

Ragini needs to stop singing. Period. She's the weakest one among them. I don't want to comment on her song today here warna ppl will say I'm saying all of it because I'm a Manasi fan and am jealous of Ragini's 'beauty'...blah blah blah...but even today they were praising Ragini on her horrible singing...donon ko hearing aid ki zaroorat hai.

Manasi looked so damn pretty today...the aadabs and all 😆 very cute..Manasi se aur bhi gaane sunne ko jee chahata hai 😆 ..Loved the performance, just like her acting where she really gets into the character, she puts in so much emotion in her singing, which is such a pleasure to hear..

Loved yesterday's duet, Raja complimented her so well, it was a fantastic performance by both.

The duet would be a favorite for this week. 👏

Whoever brackets Manasi, Ragini and Chavi in the same bracket of 17 might as well invest into a new pair of ears. Seriously! Chavi's work over the weeks is paying off consistently - she gets better and more comfortable each time, although I didn't think so much of her qawali from tonight - just doesn't seem like her area of singing. But yesterday was well earned, may as well have been an 18 at that.

Ragini's Zoobi Doobi was painful. I don't even want to get into that debate. She was much better today than she's been in a while now - but honestly, she's not at par, and I doubt can be within the duration of this show.

Manasi's qawali, attire, adaayein - uff! ☺️ What can I say that's new and not just being said for the 54376264798479120348012 time about how awesome she keeps getting? That said, I do want to say, that while 17 was HIGHLY underrated for her performance yesterday, I would have not voted her for a 20 either. A 19 would be fair, because between her duet performance with Raja, vs the Kapil pair - I did think the finishing was better for the latter. Just a couple places where I thought the whole jugalbandi with alaap in catching with each other at that pace sort of projected like Manasi lost breath - although knowing her from last weeks, that doesn't sound possible. I think it was, as she said on the spotlight segment, the single final practice she had with him. But anyway - they pulled off some beyond tedious stuff there, and tedious is already far fetched by Manasi standards, so 17 was downright insulting! They can put together a dozen judges of that caliber and be an epic fail at pulling off half of what Manasi's done on this show. Anyway!

Kapil is certainly the underdog. The powerful looming kind too! For me he's the only one among the contestants who can truly come close to fairly challenging Manasi on the singing skill - on a given day, with given choices of songs, can actually match up! And I'm personally glad that's happening, it's only the half the fun to watch a show knowing the clear unbeaten best with absolutely no threat!

ps: I can gush endlessly about how gorgeous she looks with each episode, in each new attire. There was this classic nasheela air about her today, especially when she performed, oh daggers!

like this CAP:

^^ It like makes me wana give my own singing a shot ... in aakhon ki masti ke, mastaane hazaron hain... 😍 😆

pps: On a side note, Sachin and Surpiya were cute! 😆 And what did Anu Malik imply when he told Chavi she was surviving the contest because of her eyes 😲 He's such a weird man ... 😳

Jules - thanks a bunch for the caps and vid clips! 🤗

From Yesterday's performance Well Both Manasi - Chhavi perform way better than Ragini . Less said the better abt Zoobi - Doobie . Yet AM - AC gang put them in the same category .
Chahvi was way better yesterday than in her Quwaali . but Yes she has certainly improved a lot .
So did Kapil . I feel that Judges r not doing justice to Kapil - Chavi . But both r improving on their own so good for them .

For me It seems top 4 will b Manasi [ No one can stop her ] , Chhavi , Kapil / Sachin Ji , Ragini [ Seems to me If she doesn't improve on her own then Only as Judges wishes ] . But I m eager to see Who leaves next !!!

It was a lovely lovely lovely performance by Manasi yesterday! Beautiful singing and wonderful expressions. Loved it absolutely! Wish even after the show ends she continues singing and releases albums!

Agree with you guys on Manasi being given same scores as Ragini. I felt sorry for her. We all know what an awesome actor she is and what an unconventional role she played in Gulaal. But typical bahus and cry babies got the awards. Manasi dares to be different. Experiments with variety be it acting or singing and gives her 100% to it. But unfortunately, there are a very few who recognise quality work!

BTW...Her duet 'Albela' with Raja was superb. But I wondered why it couldn't be with Parthiv? He too was in Sa re ga ma pa, right? We did see them singing together in spotlight segments. But I want to see them performing together on stage. And I googled if I can get any such videos...and came across this sweet interview. Thoroughly enjoyed reading it. They are an adorable couple! God bless!

"We are passionate about everything in life"

Parthiv Gohil may come across as a serious classical singer but his beautiful actor wife Manasi Parekh reveals that there's more to his personality than what meets the eye. The celebrity couple shares their love story with Jhumari Nigam-Misra.

First impression:

Parthiv: We first met on the sets of SaReGaMa on Alpha Gujarati. I was the host and she, a contestant. What really struck me was that despite her education at an English-medium school in Mumbai, she could sing traditional Gujarati songs quite effortlessly. She was true to her roots and, at the same time, extremely vivacious. Manasi is a perfect blend of tradition and modernity.

Manasi: I had seen Parthiv on TV as the SaReGaMa mega finalist. For somebody with a small build, his voice had an incredible power that could hit you really hard. I found him quite adorable in person as well. Parthiv can win hearts with his positive attitude and cheerful outlook. Then, of course, with a voice like his, it wasn't difficult to fall for him.

First date:

Parthiv: It wasn't really a date as we were meeting to discuss a stage show. But since it was the first time that we were meeting alone, I was quite excited. We decided to meet at McDonald's in Bandra but I was late by an hour. I thought she'd have left, but then I saw her' nose buried in a book' oblivious to the world around and waiting patiently. The date was beautiful.

Manasi: Of course, I was fuming! Who wouldn't be? Especially since it was our first date. But did I let him see it' No! I surprised him by not reacting to his excuses. But all that was erased easily once we started discussing music.

Most memorable gift:

Parthiv: The most treasured gift is the Sony digital camera that she bought me out of her first salary. That was a very sweet gesture. I also love the little notes and letters that she posts around the house for me and the surprise meals that she prepares.

Manasi: Parthiv is extremely thoughtful when it comes to gifts. When we got married, he made a Microsoft presentation of all the best moments of our four-year courtship. He also made handmade cards and wrapped them so beautifully that I was in tears by the time I finished reading everything.

His/her best quality:

Parthiv: Manasi is a woman of incredible strength and selfrespect. She is capable of going to any lengths to protect and nurture our relationship. Besides, she is quite mature for her age.

Manasi: Parthiv's resilience and sincerity. He came to Mumbai with practically nothing in hand and has created a life of integrity and success. He is a self-made man. And he has the right amount of sensitivity to be able to tune into my thoughts and feelings. He is also better organised than I am.

His/her most annoying habit:

Parthiv: Manasi is very moody. If she reads a romantic book, she will be all romantic. So when she gets angry or upset, it implies that she has just wrapped up a suspense thriller or a philosophical book!

Manasi: Parthiv can get very stubborn. Since both of us are strongwilled individuals, it gets difficult at times. But he also listens to the other perspective and that makes things easier.

Something about him/ her that's unknown to the world:

Parthiv: Manasi is very sure about what she wants in her career. Also, it may surprise many, but Manasi has been admitted to one of the world's most prestigious acting schools'the Lee Strasrberg School of Theatre in New York'and she will be leaving shortly.

Manasi:
Not many are aware of Parthiv's fun-loving and almost bohemian nature. Since he sings classical songs, most people perceive him as a very serious person. But he has a wild side too and is ready to experiment in almost every facet of life.

One point both of you agree to disagree about:

Parthiv and Manasi: We both have agreed to disagree when it comes to anything creative. Both of us believe that only when there is a difference of opinion is there scope for growth and we respect the fact that we are two individuals with different sets of opinions and viewpoints.

Your biggest passion:

Parthiv: I am passionate about almost everything in life; especially so about gadgets and technology. In fact, it's our passion for life that has brought us together.

Manasi: I too am extremely passionate about everything. Right from my life with Parthiv to career, to yoga, to books, films and even our occasional fights! I fight passionately too! On a serious note, I live life to the fullest.

Your favourite possession:

Parthiv: It would be my mobile phones. I secretly collect all my phones. On the last count I had 12 of them! I am very possessive about my electronic gadgets.

Manasi: That has to be my books and DVDs. I have a collection of 250-300 DVDs and an equal amount of books. I guard them fiercely and only select friends are allowed to borrow them from me.

A welcome change that marriage has brought about:

Parthiv: Marriage has made me respect our companionship even more. The most important thing that marriage teaches you is that it's not important to look at each other all the time. What's more important is that we look in the same direction as a couple.

Manasi: It may sound a little cliched but living together 24 hours with someone is very different from dating the same guy. You have to be very strong-hearted to be able to deal with the challenges of marriage. I've learnt to overlook small and petty differences and just focus on the big picture because I have realised that after all, what matters the most is to be together, no matter what.

Awww lovely article, Gayathri! Thanks for sharing!

So this is from 2008, haina? Did she go to the Lee Strasburg school after all then?

And yes I also wonder why Parthiv hasn't shown up yet on sets to sing with her or cheer her on...literally every other participant has someone from their family showing up. I hope Parthiv shows up soon and him and Manasi sing together...they sounded lovely in the first A/V they showed back in the first epi.

@Maz: Yep she looked beautiful! She had the adyaaein and the charm down pat...and she was really enjoying herself this time compared to the difficult performance from Saturday which took more out of her...she has truly proven herself as the most versatile contestant on this platform.
