I'm excited to hear this...it's a pretty tough song...I remember how much justice Akanksha had done to it during her singing show for little kids (forgot what it was called 😆)...hopefully Manasi can be good as that at least.

What makes Manasi a rockstar

Without doubt, Manasi Parekh is a good actress but the gorgeous girl has an equally good voice. And thanks to the Zee tv singing reality show Star Ya Rockstar for enabling to showcase the other side of Manasi. We caught up with the singtress to speak about her passion…

Manasi says she has been singing since childhood. "Singing is like a religion for me. I have been singing ever since I was a kid. It is not just a hobby for me but it's my passion," she says. "It's funny how I stopped singing. I never planned to be an actress but I have always been a singer. But ever since I got into acting, I quit singing. It was about 4-5 years back. Now, singing is back in my life again. I am so happy that I got another opportunity to continue my gift," she continues.

She is enjoying her stint in Star Ya Rockstar especially with the judges Anu Malik and Alisha Chinai. "Both of them are very humble and great. They are our seniors and know all the nuances of singing and music, so any feedback they give is valuable. They are always encourage and never put anyone down. I also received a very important tip from Anuji. He told me how to put emotions into any song. Because even if you put proper notes and sing well, the song without right emotions is incomplete," she adds.

Is she a trained singer? "No. Not really. I trained in singing as a kid. It's been a long time. However, I have been practicing music by my own all these years," she explains.

Who is her biggest support? "My husband is the one who has been my constant support. He was the one to push me for the show and without his support I wouldn't have made this far," she adds.

She loves Sufi songs. "I love singing Sufi songs because they are not just songs but they connect to the different world. Just by listening to Sufi songs, you feel very well spiritual. And every time I sing Sufi songs, I find myself closer to God," she explains.

Thanks for the article, Nur.

That's so nice of her hubby parthiv to encourage her and be a constant support. I would love to see him coming on the sets and singing a duet with her. I just love the way she loves music...so deeply, passionately and religiously...that even when it came to a life partner she fell for a singer. That's really admirable!
