agreed that mansi was good and she deserved the performer of the week..but i certainly disagree that ragini is the worst singer in the show..ragini kan sing and is singing..she proved it last week..naw need to attack ragini here..ragini and mansi both the potentail to win.mansi is takin the cake here but the winner would be determined by the votes which u people are doin..😊

Word to the bold Mash - when she got through yesterday's performance I was like - whoaaa! She did manage it! Because all through it, I was like this viewer to a tight rope walker on the edge of my seat worrying she would slip, now, or now, or now - but she went right through with it, like a longtime pro! I think attempting that kind of a song, with SO much to do in literally every line - and in a single take - PHENOMENAL she was!

And Lambi Judaai - this has to be the third thread I'm saying it, but I wasn't even sitting at the screen, and the emotion in her singing was such a hit! I think when we 'watch' them perform there's still some kind of inevitable distraction from the way they pull off the 'stage act' - but you just plug in the headphones with the audio on your IPod or something and that's a real test - you're JUST listening to her then, and the power she holds over the song and the listener! 👏

Nur - I wasn't so much on what Chavi sang for her main performance - I thought she tried too much for her own good, but she pleasantly surprised me with her elimination round Hara Rang... especially the chorus bit, she's definitely the growing contestant on this show and its her shaky notes from the first couple performances or so are definitely rid!

@ Ragini - I initially thought it was just me, but she's been very hard to connect with this week, in both her songs. There's nothing particularly wrong with her singing so to point out - but I don't 'feel it'. And I've come to think it might be an overdose of what Srushee calls her 'falsetto'. She was not the 20 candidate for sure.

@ Kapil attempting original Challa - oh he was good! Yes he's not THE Maan, but he has the quality of a 'folk' voice over the usually popular 'pop' kind - am I glad! Digging for him to attempt Chadeyaan sometime 😍

Jzee, honestly Ragini's words were sounding GARBLED to me for the "kaise paheli zindagani' performance...I don't know what WAY this is that she's devised of singing but it sounds DAMN artificial...that's just my opinion...she is not a natural singer.

Manasi is on another plane...if there are few ppl objective enough in this forum to acknowledge that.

Anywhoo...yeh drama toh chalta rehta hai...guess I should just focus on Manasi's performances.

Regarding Chhavi, even at her worst I still feel she sings better than Ragini every week...her focus and hardwork shows...her voice quality is not the greatest but she has more hold over her sur than Ragini.

Yes garbled may be the other issue - it is the 'falsetto' interfering. If I wasn't watching her, I'd never guess it was Ragini's voice - and that is not in a good way as far as her performances go. On a certain level, I would have tallied her performance yesterday with Neha's Mehboob Mere - there was, in certain parts, the same falsetto goes off note and backfires element to both of them.

Anyway - she's not touching Manasi anywhere - Dhola Re was epic. Like in general I'd have been so floored by Lambi Judaai - because that is a brand Manasi song IMO - but Dhola Re has left me in incomparable awe (for now) of how much she could chew onto and accomplish ... She's not competing with the contestants anymore, she's just raising her own bar and by leaps each time!

Chavi is a potential underdog. She's focused, she's driven to win - and she's doing great getting better at it. If you're a soccer fan, than Chavi vs Ragini yesterday was like the Saturday Arsenal vs Chelsea game 😆

Ragini singing Kaisi hai paheli was no where close to Mansi's Lambi judaii..

Ragini over singing and her voice was not right for the song..

Manasi was simply fab...no 1/2 pt differnce...I say if mansi got 20 than Ragini was at 15...

Congrats mansi for POTW...

I just Manasi's Lambi Judai...let me start off by saying no one...not Manasi...or any other singer could sing that song like Reshma does. It's not possible. And I don't usually like any rendition of this song...but boy oh boy...was Manasi amazing or what! The original has his quality of choking you with emotions...you can't listen to it without sighing...and Manasi did full justice to it...she sustained the original soul of the son..

Exactly! And she keeps on surprising me with the song choices...I may sound like a bad fan but I never expected that she could sing something like Dhola Re so well. I have never seen anyone attempt the song on stage and sing it so well...I sat staring open mouthedly for a minute or so when she started singing that song...

Not going to comment on Ragini anymore. I'm too polite to do that...😃

Mash - word to the song not being an ideal stage performance favorite - of course it's not, because its not the kind of stuff even usual professionals would pull off in a single take! If the Nusrat ji song had surprised me a couple weeks ago as her choice, this was went way beyond! And I know what you're saying about being a bad fan - I was at the edge of my seat expecting her to miss one syllable or the other but the alacrity even in that pace, and so much of - I dunno, tongue twisting alaap like interludes within the lines, and with that kind of BG band - she was brilliant!

ps: @ Reshma's original - agreed. It's something which I felt about her singing Tere Bina in a lesser Sufi touch as opposed to the original. There is a certain nasal undertone to these original tracks - the GOOD kind of nasal - which lends them their respective uniqueness, and I reckon, nobody can reproduce precise imitations. But Manasi's rendition was, like the last time, in her own element, flawlessly done! Talking of these songs, I suddenly wonder if she'd give a shot to boohe baariyan...
