SS team was in a fix as not knowing how to answer the reporters if they asked about Aryan's and Vishal's absence… And is the meeting got delayed, was it not enough for them to write a mini article on punctuality quoting this as an anecdote! 😕

Neha was walking back and forth in the pantry with her coffee going cold on the table beside….
Ajay said looking at the newspaper…..
Ajay: Pata nahi ki is press meet ki kya zaroorat hai… Jo kuch bhi hum unhe bata sakte hain…. Ya phir batane waale hain, vo sab unhone khud hi likh liya hai…. (Shrugging his shoulder and turning the page in the paper) They just want to grab something off our mouth to speculate….. Lekin aaj aisa waisa unhe kuch poochne do, Vishal to unhe chodega nahi! Aryan hota to, he too!
Neha: (Stopping her walk abruptly) Chodega nahi jab aayega…. Jab hoga…. Aryan to waise bhi nahi aa raha…. And Vishal is not yet in…. Good God! Vo phone bhi nahi utha raha…
Ajay: (Glancing up) Neha cool yaar! Aa jayega…. Lo tumhari coffee thandi ho gayi… Main doosra laaoon?
Neha: (Frustrated) AJAY! Tumhe coffee ki padi hai…. Vo press waale time se lagbag aade ghante pehle aa gaye….. We do know how they are!!! Mule diggers…. Worse than them I would say….. Tab to nahi, lekin time pe to press meet shuru karni hogi…. Agar shuru nahi hui, to yahi baat kaafi hai un ke liye hum par aur ilzaam lagane ke liye?!
Boxer: (Taking a sip of his coffee) Neha…. Its okay…. Vishal aa jayega…. Use pata to hai ki aaj press meet hai…. Vo irresponsible nahi hai! Besides he likes these meets… Only one way to get at those media people!
Neha: (Taking a deep breath) Pata hai ki aa jayega…. Lekin itni der!?!?! Hume deal karna hoga un mules se!!!!!! (Looking at her watch) Its time! Un press waalon ke saamne jaake kya kahenge hum?
Voice: Ki hum case follow up kar rahe hain?!! 👍🏼
Neha, Ajay, Boxer looked towards the door and found Vishal standing there cool as a cucumber, like always…. Relieved Neha shook her head while Ajay and Boxer just looked at each other as if saying "We knew!"
Neha: Vishal! The reporters are already in high state…. And this late!?!?
Vishal came inside the pantry and gave Neha a good morning hug much to Ajay's dislike, of course wishing Ajay and Boxer too… 🤗
Vishal: Good Morning Neha! Hi guys! (To the pantry boy) Ek coffee!
Sitting down beside Ajay he took his newspaper, again much to Ajay's disapproval and reading the main news said….
Vishal: Thanks Ajay! (Ajay just mumbled a mention not) Hmm…. Don't know what they expect from us…. Jo kahenge vo to likha hi diya hai!
Ajay raised his eyebrows as this was exactly what he had said few minutes ago…. Boxer also nodded approvingly….
Neha: (Taking the coffee from the pantry boy and extending it to Vishal) Matlab? Ajay ne bhi yahi kaha tha newspaper padke…. What is written?
Vishal returned the newspaper to Ajay and took the cup from Neha….
Vishal: Thank you! (Sipping) Ajay wah….. You perceive well too…. (Ajay again mumbled a thank you) As for what is in the newspaper….. Wahi…. Minister was blasted…. Near night… It is a known fact he was threatened…. Ek baat hai ki ye press waale humare jaise achche investigators hain…. They have also inferred as to why the minister was alone on the roads when he knew his life was in danger!
Neha: Haan…. Koi scoop likhne ke liye they squeeze their brains….. (Making a wringing action) It be true or not, is what they don't bother! Thinking of consequences is way out of their world!
Vishal: (Getting up) Weeeeeeeelllllllllllllllll……… What they write is true (Stressing), is what we (Stressing 'we') take care off! (Smiling) What say? 😃
Neha, Ajay and Boxer smiled at each understanding his comment and nodded….
Vishal: So come on… Let's go and deal with those mule diggers!
Vishal said this winking at Neha while she just chuckled….
Ajay and Boxer got up and followed Vishal with Neha out of the pantry…. Walking towards the discussion room Neha asked Vishal softly as Shotgun and Zubin joined them….
Neha: Vishal! Aryan nahi aa raha!
Vishal: (Not seriously) Oh! Pata hai vo nahi aayega…. Aaya to hi surprising hai!
Neha: Lekin Aryan's absence would be instantly noticed….. Press waale ise ordinary nahi lenge…. Dipika too not been here!
Vishal: Oh Neha! There are various reasons to defy those digger mules…. We'll tackle! Take a chill pill and come!
Saying Vishal entered the discussion room while the others followed in….
Vishal and the others took the seats at the front….
Vishal: (In his usual sing song no care tone) Good morninnnnnnnnnggggggg Mumbai…. Well of course…. Mumbai hamesha aapke chehere par hi to uththa hai…. Newspapers! Television! So let's begin…. And we keep it short…. You see we have a case to deal!
Reporter 1: Mr. Aryan Khanna kahan hai? Ms. Dipika Gosh bhi nahi hain!
There was silence in the room as the SS team looked at each other….. They didn't expect the bouncer at the start itself!!!!!!!!!!

Vishal: (As if amused🤔) Aryan Khanna!!?!?!?? Dipika Gosh!?!?!? Are we dealing a kidnap case or missing people case!?!??! Unhe kya hua? 😲
R 1: (Wickedly) Exactly when it is not a missing person's case…. Mr. Khanna has to be here….. Ms. Gosh ko bhi!
Vishal: (Glancing at Neha) NEHA! A law like this was enforced that Aryan and Dipika have to be present in all possible press meets of the state?!!? You never indicated me…. Mujhe to pata hi nahi tha…. Tumhe pata hai kya? (As Neha silently shook her head suppressing her smile, Vishal asked Ajay and others too) Tum logon ko aisa law enforce hua hai, aisa kuch news mila kya?
Ajay: Achcha?!!? Law enforce bhi hote hain…. Humse law ke tootne ke baare me poocho to shayad jawaab mil sakta hai…. Because we do that….. (As Vishal glared at him Ajay covered up saying) I mean we deal with law breakers not law makers.... Lekin law enforcement ke baare me??!!? I am a zero on it! 😉
Ajay said this smiling sarcastically at the reporter… Even the others just shook their heads in response to Vishal's question…. 😆

R 1: Ye press meet Special Squad me ho raha hai…. Aur usi ke chief yahan nahi hain! Also Special Squad bhi to ye case handle kar raha hai…. To uske Investigation Chief aur Forensic Head ko yahan hona chahiye the…. (Sarcastically) Kaheen subah subah date par to nahi chale gaye!
Vishal: (Interrupting angrily) Agar jaate bhi, to aapko usse koi matlab nahi hai! Waise bhi kisko press meet me bulana hai, kisko nahi bulana ye mera decision hai…. CBI is case ki reporting authority hai…. To questions mujhse pooche jayenge aur jawaab main doonga….. Meri permission se hi yahan kisi aur se question pooche jayenge aur vo jawaab denge!
R 3: But that's not done Mr. Malhotra…. Agar sirf CBI is case ke liye kaafi hai to Special Squad kyun? (Sarcastically) CBI me kabiliyat ki kami shayad reh gayi hai!
Vishal: (Looking closely at the reporter's ID card) Mr. Vijay Saxena…. Agar aap reporters me itni unity hai questioning karne ke liye, to itne log kyun? Ek aa sakta hai…. Baaki sab unse report kyun nahi le lete?
This put a full stop to the reporters twisty questions about Aryan's and Dipika's absence….
Vishal: (Smiling) Phir bhi… Ek doctor jitna bhi expert kyun naa ho, vo hamesha tough cases me second opinion leta hai, ek doosre (Stressing) expert se… Waise hi is case me ek aur expert ki hume sirf is liye zaroorat padi hai kyunki hum kisi begunah ko sazaa dilvana nahi chahate….. (Looking behind at the cabin entrance) Right Aryan?
Immediately every body's attention turned behind where Aryan was standing at the door leaning on the door frame, smiling…. He walked in and around the reporters to the front…. He walked to the row of seats in the front…. Neha tried to get up to give him a seat…. But Aryan indicated her to sit and he sat down on the table in the front….
Aryan: Very much Vishal…. Very much… Good Morning everybody…. Mujhe nahi pata tha ki mere naa aane se aap log itna bechain honge…. Pata hota to ye luppa chuppi ka khel naa khelta aur jaldi aa jaata…. Aapki utsukta mujhse dekhi nahi gayi…. Isliye chala aaya…. Ab agar mere presence ne aapko khush kar di hai, to meet ko official rakhte hue shuru karein?
After few seconds of silence, where none of them dared to again ask about Dipika's absence, the questioning started….
R 4: Sir… FIR me kya darj kiya gaya hai?

Ajay: Agar motive pata chalta to ab tak case solve ho jaata!
Aryan: (Agreeing) Haan…. Ek aise hasti ki mauth hui hai jinhe of course kayi log naa pasand karte honge….. His career and position has definitely earned him lots of enemies… We are following it up!
R 2: Is case me abhi tak aapne kisi ko arrest nahi kiya hai? Koi bhi suspect nahi mila hai kya ?
Vishal: Oh ! (With a make make French slang) Madame…. Itni khoobsurat muh se kaise kaise sawaal poochti ho aap? Lekin aapne jawaab maanga hai to…. Kisi law me hai kya ki ek police case me immediate arrest hone chahiye… Agar waisa hai to it would be unjustified…. Jinki mauth hui hai, vo ek public figure hain.... Zaahir hai unke kayi dushman honge, unhe naa chahane waale kayi honge…. Agar sabko arrest karne nikale, to Mumbai ke jails kum padenge…. Phir se aapke sawaalon ka hum paala nahi panda chahate!
R 3: Forensic report kya kehte hain?
Shotgun: Nothing special... Body was charred…. Totally burnt…. Minister ki hi body hai… Phir bhi humne DNA test ki report bhi verification ke liye maangi hai!
R 1: Crime scene se kaise evidences mile hain?
Aryan: Mister reporter…. Kya aap case ke questions pooch rahe hain ya criminal ko bachane ki help kar rahe hain?

The reporter just shut his mouth glaring back at the team at not receiving a proper answer….
R 5: Mr. Malhotra…. Suna hai minister ko death threats mile hain, to phir vo itni raat ko akele bahar kya kar rahe the? ❓
Vishal: (Thinking) Hmm… Aapko planchitte karna aata hai?
R 5: (Stunned) Ji?!??!? (Stammering) P… Planchitte!?!?
Vishal: Because if you do, aap khud minister ji ki aatma ko bulake kyun nahi pooch leti? Kyun ke aapke is sawaal ka jawaab vo hi jaane… Aur ye bhi poochke bata dijiyega ki unke kaatil koun hai…. Humara kaam aasaan ho jayega…
R 1: (Sternly) Mr. Malhotra aap humare sawaal ka seedha jawaab nahi de rahe…. You do know its consequences I think!?
At this Vishal stood up angrily following him in suit was Aryan…. The others also stood up…. Neha caught Aryan while Boxer restrained Vishal.… 😡
Vishal: Press ho ya koi bhi, ek police officer ko threaten karne ka anjaam kya hota hai, ye aapko pata hai I think.... Sawaal theek ho to jawaab bhi theek milega!
Aryan: Hum jitna bata sakte the humne keh diya.... More than that is our rights to preserve in view of the case investigation….
Vishal: Meeting dismissed.... Agli baar case solve hoke, criminal ko sazaa dilvaane ke baad hi hum milenge! Thank you very much for your very kind cooperation! (Stressing)
Vishal started to leave… The others looked at each other…. Aryan indicated them all to leave…. But before they could leave….
R 5: Aap is tarah meeting ko beech me….
Vishal stopped at the entrance and looked back sternly…. Vishal looked at Aryan who smiled and answered the question while Vishal left the room….
Aryan: Press meet was scheduled only for half an hour.... And your time is up…. Aapki interest to case se zyada mere aur Dipika ke absence me zyada tha! (To Neha) Please show them their way Neha! And report back soon… Humari case investigation inki wajah se hold me hai! Good day!
Saying Aryan also left the cabin…. Neha just looked at Ajay and Boxer who took in charge of the situation….
Ajay: Excuse me folks…. Agar aap apna raasta pakad lein, to hum apna raasta pakad lenge…. Warna humare seniors hain naa bahut strict hain reporting time me!
Boxer: Isliye agar aap.... (Indicating the door)
The reporters just looked at each other and collecting their equipments left the room… The few reporters who tried to make an issue out of nothing glared back at the remaining team and left the office!
The first reporter was the last to leave whom Ajay caught back…. As the reporter glared back Ajay took his face close to his and said….
Ajay: Suno bachchu….. Agar paper me aisa waisa kuch, bada chadake chapvaya to yaad rakhna…. Aryan ne kaha…. Tumhe possible suspicion me kam se kam pandrah din tak police custody me laa denge…. Aur suspects se kaise interrogation ki jaati hai ye tumhe pata hai! Tumne us par ek Sunday article likha tha naa ! 😡
Boxer: Maamu! Chodo!
Saying he removed Ajay's hand from the reporter's collar….
Boxer: (To the reporter) Aap please jayiye….
The reporter just glared back but a little scared and hurriedly left the cabin…

Aryan: (Typing in his laptop) Maine kaha naa Vishal, Sri ne aakhein nahi kholi… But she is fine… Bhukar utar gaya hai… She was looking fine when I left her…
Vishal: Phir bhi tumhe un dono ko wahan chod nahi aana chahiye tha....
Aryan: Jaise Dipika mujhe wahan rehene deti… Agar press meet ki baat usne suni nahi hoti, to shayad me wahan hi hota… Waise bhi she was right…. Yahan to un press waalon ne bhakeda hi khada kar diya tha!
Vishal: Ye reporters to kuch naa kuch bakenge… These diggers have no work…. Main to subah call karna chahata tha…. Lekin pata nahi kab vo uthegi… I didn't want to disturb her, isliye soch raha tha baad me phone kar doonga…. But Aryan, you should have….

Boxer: Chale gaye…. Ab mujhe nahi lagta we will be left alone…. They would keep following us in the case!
Vishal: Boxer…. They do their duty we do ours…
Ajay: But that was a good idea.... Answering their questions and also like not answering and evading further probes!
Vishal: Oh Ajay.... In media waalon ko to hum jaante hi hain.... They know only to dig... To we allowed them to..... Bas ki unhe kuch mila bhi aur nahi mila bhi! At least we are free for the moment.... Ab ke liye hum, CBI people minister ke ghar jaa rahe hain, unke family members' se baat karne…. Vishal looked at Aryan for a while as Aryan just looked back at him…. He thought contracting his eyes about why this change of plan was suggested….
Vishal: (Suspiciously) Kyun? Pehle plan me koi problem? ❓
Aryan: (Stammering) Nai… Nothing… Bas ki CBI is first authority, to minister ke office me kuch problem hui to aap log theek se handle kar loge naa…. Isliye!
Vishal: (Mildly surprised) What?!?! Problem hum theek se handle karenge? Of course…. That is right…. No doubt….. Phir bhi…. Lekin tum kab se itneeeeee modest hone lage?!?!?!
Just then entering the cabin Neha said…
Neha: Vishal! Aryan! Ye addresses…. Minister ke ghar ka aur office ka… Aap logon ko pata hai…. Phir bhi verification ke liye…. You are going there now right?
Vishal still looking at Aryan suspiciously nodded slightly and took the papers from Neha… He glanced at the addresses and extended the Minister's home address to Aryan…. Just as Aryan was about to take the paper, Vishal pulled it back…. He closely looked at the address and then slowly smiled…. Then extending the other paper to Aryan said….
Vishal: Nah Aryan! Mujhe tum pe aur tumhare team par pooooooooorrrrrraaaaaaaa bharosa hai…. Minister office me koi bhi (Stressing) problem aaye, which I doubt, to Special Squad se behtar koi use perfectly handle nahi kar sakta…. Isliye aap office jaoge aur hum ghar….
Vishal said this with a grin on his face and his eyes saying "I know you better than me Aru dearyyyyyyyyyy to believe your modesty!!!!" 😃
Aryan glared at Vishal taking the paper…. He got up closing his laptop and started…
Aryan: Chalo Ajay! Boxer!
Vishal: Oie Aru... Breakfast nahi ki hai naa ab tak... Karke investigation ke liye jaana…. I don't want to be answerable to her!
At the door Aryan just looked back once at Vishal and shaking his head left the cabin in haste, not to say that he understood that the 'her' Vishal mentioned was Dipika! 😉
Ajay and Boxer who were standing near by just looked at each, shrugging their shoulders not understanding what Vishal had said for which Aryan was so angry! But they followed a very fast Aryan out of the cabin, waving Neha good bye!
Neha looked at the team go and looked back at Vishal who had this strange smile on his face, looking at the paper in his hand….
Neha: Tumne aisa kya keh diya jo Aryan itne gusse me jaa raha hai?
Vishal: (Looking up) Oh! Ye gussa nahi hai…. Well gussa hai… But not very serious and all…. Bus ki maine use Dipika se milne nahi di!
Neha: (Surprised🤔) Dipika!!?!? Lekin Ajay ne kaha tha ki subah Aryan hospital me hi tha….
Vishal: (Sitting on the table) Subah hi nahi Neha… He was with Sri the whole night…. Dipika ko maine hi kal raat ghar choda tha… (Seeing Neha's more surprised face he said) You see Minister office Apollo Hospital se five minute drive par hai…. (Neha smiled hearing this) Lagta hai pathar andar hi andar pigal raha hai…..
Neha: (Going up to him) Pigal raha hai to achchi baat hai…. Positive signs hain…. Lekin phir bhi agree karne ki baat hai!
Vishal: (Sighing) Wahi to…. Both are clear, very clear for that matter…. About their feelings towards each other….. Phir bhi khud ko rok rahe hain…. Dipika to pehle Aryan ko apne pyaar se disturb nahi karna chahathi thi…. Ab to she has understood Aryan's feelings, but want him to take the first step….
Neha: Isme kya galat hai? Any woman would want so…. Of course aise bhi hain ki first step vo khud lete hain…. Lekin Dipika ke liye sirf ye pyaar ka izhaar nahi hoga…. Because Aryan would not be marrying just a woman… He would be marrying a mother….
Vishal: I know… Isliye agar Aryan khud keheta hai to use apne aur Sir ke future ki guarantee mil jayegi….
Neha: Frankly Vishal…. Aryan before was ready to accept a mother…. 😔
As Neha looked at Vishal as he nodded understanding that she was indicating Shaina….

Neha: (Remembering) You mean our plan?
Vishal: (Nodding) Uh hunh… Sri ka bimaar panda bhi ek taraf se achcha hua….. But God forbid, bachchi ko phir se aise dekhne ki noubat naa aaye…. Lekin I think now and today is the right time!
Neha: Abhi!?!? (Getting it) Tum hospital jaa rahe ho? 😛
Vishal: (Smiling) Haan…. Investigation ke baad.... Dekhte hain situation kaisi hai.... Shayad aaj humare plan ko anjam dene ka achcha din hai!
Neha: (Smiling and nodding) Achcha hi nahi bahut achcha din hai….
Vishal: (Getting up) Hmm…. I'll start…. Bas ki tumhe thoda push dena hoga….
Neha: Vo tum mujh pe chod do…. Ideas dena mera kaam.... Aur jitna main use jaanti hoon, she is smart! But you never get enough of him, naa? 😃
Vishal: (Shaking his head) Nahhh!!!! Never enough…. 😉
After a moment both of them burst out laughing gave a high five to each other…. 😃
Vishal looked at his watch and said….
Vishal: Oh! Its getting late.... Mere officers neeche wait kar rahe honge…. Main nikalta hoon… Waise bhi us press meet ke karan waste of time…. Please usme ek report bana dena…. One official Commissioner Office fax kar dena…. And one unofficial Commy ko mail kar dena… He would want to know it all! 😔
Neha nodded her approval and both of them left the cabin….

Neha was remembering details and typing the report when Shotgun approached her mumbling something…. He took the chair next to Neha's….
Neha: Are Shotgun! (Still typing) Tumse to baat hi nahi ho paa rahi hai…. Waise Cynthia kaisi hai? When is she coming back from London? 😊
Getting no reply she looked besides her and saw Shotgun looking at some photographs…. Neha peeped and saw that it was the crime scene photographs….
Neha: Shotgun kya baat hai? Any problem?
This time Shotgun looked at Neha thinking and said….
Shotgun: I think there is....
Neha: Kya?
Shotgun: (Showing a photograph) Ise dekh rahi ho? ❓
Neha looked at the photograph and asked….
Neha: Ye to car ka interior lagta hai... Driver seat ke side ka....
Shotgun: Haan.... Exactly dashboard ka hai.... Before any evidences was collected from the crime spot…. Dashboard par ek charred lump dekh rahi ho?
Neha once again looked at the photograph closely and said….
