Aryan and Vishal hurried over to her as fast as they could and as noiselessly as possible in hospital corridor… Hearing footsteps behind her she turned around…. For an instant her expression was bleak and then turned to a surprise!

She didn't know what to say but knew she had to answer many questions…. They were all written on their faces…. But she then again thought…. How did they know she was here?!?!? She hadn't informed anyone! But…. Then thinking…. Sandhya? Did she inform Vishal and thus Aryan too came to know? But…..

Dipika was thinking what to say, what to ask when Vishal himself said in a stern, angry voice….

Vishal: Not a pleasant surprise! Isn't it? 😡

Dipika looked at him deciphering his expression…. Her eyes then traveled to Aryan a foot behind Vishal… What she read in his eyes hurt her…. More than accusing her like Vishal did, Aryan's expression conveyed betrayal…. Betrayal that she had ignored him…. Betrayal that she hadn't thought him to be so close, or as she read…. So worthy to inform him about her situation….

She felt hurt…. She felt angry with herself…. She couldn't justify this time like she always did…. She wanted to open her mouth, but she had forgotten how to… For more than fifteen hours now she hadn't actually spoken a word…. And now when she wanted to it felt really heavy! 😕

Not able to meet his eyes more she looked down….

But seeing them she was actually happy…. Happy that some support had come…. She was very much totally exhausted now and was just yearning for a support…. But something…. Something heavy in her stopped her moving away from the place….. She just wanted to put her head on someone's shoulder…. No matter whose it was! 😕

Composing herself she looked up again and saw that Vishal still was angry on her…. She just looked back at him with just a tired expression….. His anger masked the exhaustion on Dipika's face…. He neither saw that she was drained of her energy physically and mentally, nor noticed the tiredness in her voice… He actually thought her to be calm and composed….

But Aryan did… One look at her and he had understood that she was not in herself…. She was not in her usual state….. Else, how could it be that a mother was so calm when her daughter was fighting for her life in the ICU? He understood…. He knew…. The sea may seem calm on the surface but the storm brews inside…. Unless and until it surfaces the sea destroys itself inside not known to anyone…. And this worried him!

Vishal: Ek phone nahi kar sakti thi? Kal raat…. Kal raat admit hui thi naa Sri yahan? Jitni bhi raat ho, ek phone karke inform to kar sakti thi!

Dipika smiled feebly and tried to speak something…. But nothing came out of her mouth!

Vishal: (Catching her arm hard) Mahan banane ka shouk chada hai tummhe…. Hamesha…. Hamesha aisa hi karti ho…. You take everything onto yourself and never let anyone into it! And this is not your personal space! Understand? (Seeing that she was silent) Kuch to bolo ab? As usual justify yourself!

Loosely Dipika caught Vishal's hand trying to pry it off, but she didn't have the energy to do it…. She just caught his arm and tried to tell him off…

Just then Aryan came over and pried Vishal's hand from Dipika's arm…. He then led Vishal a little away from Dipika and said in a low voice….

Aryan: Tu kar kya raha hai? Gussa hone ka samay hai ye? Uski halat dekhta hai…. She's completely exhausted…. Pehle se Sri ki tabiyat lekar bahut fikar kar rahi hai aur tum upar se…. Gusse ne teri ankhon par parda daal diya hai..... Gussa baad me kar… Stupid fellow!

Vishal looked over at Dipika who was looking towards the ICU with worry all over her face but with calmness too…. Of course…. Stupid him! How could he not see it….. More than his anger her worry was now important…. If she hadn't called there would have been a reason… Else she would never stop from telling him anything! He hit himself mentally for been such a jerk and followed Aryan back to her….

Aryan took Dipika by her arm softly, tenderer than touching a flower and made her sit down, amidst her shaking her head in protest…. He then sat down by her…. Vishal came to the other side and placed a hand on her shoulder….

Vishal: Sorry…. I shouldn't have got angry like that! I am always a jerk like this…

Dipika just looked at him smiling and immediately her eyes welled up….

She hugged Vishal by his waist and started crying….. Immediately Vishal wrapped his hands around her comforting her…. She cried her heart out…. All her worries from last night flowed out…. All that was making her heart and her whole system drained out….. 😭

Both Aryan and Vishal became very worried seeing her cry like this… Never in their lifetime that they had known Dipika had she cried like this…. Not even during times when the one she wanted most moved away from her!

Vishal: Hey…. Dipika…. Dipika…. Isshh….. Sri ko kuch nahi hoga….. She'll be fine!

Aryan's hands raised to comfort her, but seeing Vishal was already doing that, he retreated back his hand…. How badly he wanted to comfort her…. Hold her…. Caress her…. But…. Well Vishal was there anyways…. But… Still….

Vishal: (Softly) Dipika!

Dipika kept crying continuously letting our all her grief and sorrow and all Vishal could do was soothe her, smoothing her hair, trying to comfort her…. Aryan's hand been tied just watched over worried….

After few minutes when Dipika had just started to control herself…..

Sandhya: (A relieved voice) She cried!?!?! She did!?!? Oh! Thank God! 😔

Hearing this Vishal and Aryan looked up at her as she walked over to them…. She too smoothed her hand over Dipika's head smiling a little….

Aryan: (Puzzled) Matlab? 😳

Sandhya: Poochiye hi mat… Jab se Srishti yahan admit hui hai, Dipika's been like…. (Thinking) Like a zombie.… Teen baar kal raat se Srishti serious hui hai, lekin iske chehere me ek ajeeb si calmness thi…. Kal raat se kuch kahaya nahi hai, piya bhi nahi hai…. Not one drop of water has gone down her mouth…. Jitni force kar chuki main!

Stunned Aryan and Vishal looked at each other, while Dipika moved herself away from Vishal and composed herself….

Aryan: Kya, kuch bhi nahi khaya?

Vishal: (Looking down at Dipika shocked) Paani bhi nahi?!?!

Sandhya: (Nodding) Hmm…. Khaana, peena! Isne muh kholke baat bhi nahi ki…. She came admitted Srishti and that's it…. Of course main thi kal night duty pe to maine sambhaala…. Registration tak bhi ye chal nahi saki….. She was totally out of this world….. She just wasn't ready to go anywhere, have anything.… She wasn't even responding properly…. Good for her and for us too!

Aryan looked at Dipika whose face was now red and wet with all the crying… Smiling a little at her kiddish look, he took out his kerchief and extended it to her…. Dipika looked at the kerchief and up at him…. She just silently took the kerchief and wiped her tears….

Vishal: (To Dipika) Tum theharo… Tumse baad me baat karta hoon…. (Looking at Sandhya) Ab Sri kaisi hai?

At this both Aryan and Dipika looked up at Sandhya…. Dipika stood up in haste and the action stuttered her…. Aryan immediately stood catching hold of her….

She just looked at him nodding slightly thanking him that way…. She immediately looked at Sandhya expecting a positive answer…. But she got scared immediately seeing Sandhya's relieved expression replaced by worry…. She knew what was coming….. She had heard it twice previously…..

Sandhya just looked at the other three in turns, not replying anything…. Concerned Sandhya took Dipika's hand in hers and said…

Sandhya: I am really sorry Dipika…. Ab ke liye serious condition tal gayi hai…. She had difficulty in breathing now…. But stable ho gayi hai…. But she still is critical…… Maine tumse 24 hours ki mohulat maangi thi….. Tonight is the time….. Aaj raat guzar gaya to hi main kuch keh sakti hoon…. Extra care ke liye kaha hai maine….. Tab tak to main…. (Pausing) I….

Saying Sandhya shook her head, turned around and walked off….. Aryan and Vishal turned to look at Dipika wondering how she had taken the news…. But they were surprised to see that she had taken it well enough! There was not the high degree of worry or scared expression on her face…. But she knew she was scared…. Frightened…. Worried….

Vishal and Aryan shared a glance not knowing how to react to her reaction….. But themselves they were shocked and worried….. Dipika might have heard it twice already but they were hearing it for the first time and it made it painful for them! 😕

Vishal looked about and saw Sandhya walking down the corridor…. He thought of talking to Sandhya….. He looked at Dipika…. How could he leave her here alone? She needed him….. He then noticed Aryan still holding her and smiled a little involuntarily….. Of course not… More then her best friend her best future was with her…. He immediately hurried off to speak to Sandhya….

Seeing Vishal hurry off, Aryan looked at him in surprise wondering where he was off to… But putting aside the thought he turned his attention to Dipika…. She had sat down and was looking deep in thought…. Kneeling down in front of her he looked up at her and said smiling, softly….

Aryan: Its okay….. Sri is going to be fine! Use kuch (Stressing) nahi hoga….

Dipika looked at him for a long time…. Studied his face deeply…. She saw worry written all over his face too…. She very well knew that Aryan worried about Sri too…. Even though he had known Sri only for two days, it was more than enough for him to attach to her…. Not Aryan Khanna, the Special Squad Chief…. Not Aryan Khanna a normal human being…. It was Aryan Khanna the father of a two year old, dead four years ago, had re born two days ago…. And that father in him knew the pain….

Dipika: She is (stressing) going to be fine Aryan…. Kahan jayegi mujhe chodke? Mujhe chodke naa vo reh sakti hai naa main…. Mujhe to takleef sirf is baat ka hai, ki ek sadharan kharoch se use bahut takleef ho jaata tha… Mujhe use dekhke dukh hota tha… Ab….

Saying she grabbed Aryan's hand and took him into the ICU…. Standing at the foot of the bed Aryan took one look at Sri and his heart ached so much…. It was not at all the live form he had seen yesterday…. The small form in front of him was totally a new one…. Sri's glowing, bubbly face had gone all grey and dull… There were various tubes connected to her nose, her hand, her heart….. All was wires besides her…. Oh! He closed his eyes involuntarily!

Dipika walked over to the side of the bed… But she couldn't near it fully, as there the bed had rungs around it…

Dipika: (Looking at Aryan and back at Sri) See…. So many tubes and she has become so dull! (Coming back to him, who opened his eyes) Aryan….. Mujhe pata hai ki ye sab uske liye hi hai lekin…. (Glancing back at Sri) Cheh saalon me maine kabhi use aisa nahi dekha…. Bhukar tak naa ho, is tarah rakha hai maine…. Aur ab!?!!?? I….

Saying Dipika started to whimper and this ached Aryan more…. Taking her face in his hands he said….

Aryan: Isshh! Kuch nahi hoga….. Look here…. (Lifting her face) Tumne hi kaha hai ye sab uske liye hai….. Dukh hota hai…. When we something different, un understandable in front of us we get upset Dipika…. But this is for her and she will be fine! Hmm….

Dipika's closed her eyes letting the tears flow and hugged him….

Just then the nurse near by indicated Aryan to leave the ICU…. He nodded and guided Dipika outside…. Still hugging her…. When he came out a ward boy was standing there with a glass of juice, a glass of water and another covered plate on tray….

Wardboy: Ye Sandhya ji ne bhejha hai… (Indicating Dipika) Inke liye….

Aryan nodded and made Dipika sit down…. Thanking the wardboy he took the tray…. He sat down and balanced the plate on her lap….. Taking the water he extended to Dipika…. She just shook her head and turned away her face….

Aryan: You haven't had anything… Not even a drop of water from yesterday! Dipika…. Look here…. Mere taraf dekho…. (Saying he turned her face to look at him) Tumne kaha ki use kuch nahi hoga… Right? (Dipika nodded meekly) Then…. Phi raise naa khaane ka, naa peene kya matlab? Ki tumhe dar hai ki use kuch ho jayega naa?

Dipika: (Shaking her head) Nai… Bilkul nai… Use kuch nahi hoga…. Nothing will happen to her!

Aryan: Phir to tumhe ab ye khaana hai aur peena hai.... Right?

Dipika looked at him trying to protest again but Aryan raised his eyebrows, raising his question again….. She nodded and tried taking the glass from Aryan's hand..... But he shook his head and said….

Aryan: Jis halat me tum ho, yahan pe glass and water ki cleaning karvana pad sakta hai... So just drink.... 😊

Saying Aryan extended the glass to her mouth…. Looking at him Dipika drank the water….. Aryan then gave her a sip of the orange juice….

Aryan: Now that's like a good girl.... Now for…. (Opening the covered plate) Are wah! Cutlet! Sandhya surely knows how to pamper patients and their relatives!

Saying he took a piece of the cutlet and fed her….. Dipika ate them all silently watching Aryan…. After the cutlet and glass of juice was over….

Aryan: Good! Kehene par baaat manane waale bachche sabko pasand hai… You are also good!

Dipika smiled and asked softly…

Dipika: Bachchi?!?!? 😳

Aryan: Haan…. (Smiling) Rone ke baad, tumhara chehera waisa hi tha.... All red and messed up like a small school kid.... (Thinking) Iss…. Uff… Bhool gaya…. Should have taken your photograph of that time…. Sri ko dikhata, to use bahut achcha lagta! 😃

Dipika: (Stunned hit his arm playfully) Aryan! Use dikhate to vo ek cheez kaafi hoti mujhe zindagi bhar pareshaan karne…. Kuch kahoon to bolegi…. Ya phir gaa bhi degi…. Royi hui surat…. Aankhon me laali…. HAI! 😆

Saying she laughed a little and Aryan smiled seeing her getting back to normancy…. He always wanted to see her like this, never did he want to see her worried and scared….. He prayed inwards for Sri to get alright very soon….

Seeing Aryan looking at her Dipika stopped laughing and looked back at him….. They just their usual session of eye locks and talks…. Dipika thanked him and he said no problem…. Of course, their hearts talked and listened…. Nothing to hear…. Everything to feel!

Aryan: (Keeping the tray down and asked softly, casually) Hume phone kar sakti thi! Aaj subah tumhe maine phone bhi kiya tha, lekin attend hi nahi ki tumne!

Aryan straightened as Dipika answered….

Dipika: Tumne Sandhya ki baat suni nahi Aryan? (As Aryan frowned thinking back) Tum logon ke aane ke baad hi main kuch boli hi…. Kal raat tumhara phone ke baad main Sri ko sulake, apne room chali gayi…. Beech raat ko main jab use check karne uthi tab vo neend me kuch badbada rahi thi…. Use uthake maine poocha to usne kaha uske pair me dard hai…. Kal shaam ko use such me chot aayi thi…. Lekin der se dard affect hua hai….. Tab hi maine use chua to high fever tha…. Maine socha normal fever, pair ke dard ki wajah se hai…. Ghar me use dawaa dekar use sulane ki koshish kar rahi thi… Thodi der me to use saans lene me takleef ho gayi thi…. I really got scared and brought her here…. Kya kar karna hai kuch pata nahi tha…. All I knew was I had to get her to the hospital fast…. (Looking down at herself in her night dress and smiling a little) Mera huliya bata to raha hai! Aur mobile ab mere paas nahi hai…. Ghar me hi bhool aayi!

Aryan: Hmm…. I understand…. Lekin humari halat sochi tumne, jab us receptionist ne Sri ke naam se dawaa mangvayi… And that too when we just saw Sandhya hurry to attend an emergency which was Sri's!

Dipika: (Surprised) Kya? Matlab Sandhya ne tum logon ko yahan nahi bulaya?

Surprised at such a question Aryan was just about to answer her when they heard footsteps and saw Vishal, Ajay and Boxer were walking towards them…. 😳

Vishal hurried off, ran a little and turned the corner to see Sandhya about to go to the reception area…. He hurried to her calling out….

Vishal: Sandhya!

Sandhya stopped to look back….

Sandhya: (Eventhough she knew why Vishal had come to talk to her, teasing) Kya hua? Mujhse akele me baat karna chahate the? Aww.... (Pinching his cheeks) Coochie coo! I am chorry…. Ye hospital hai… Aur maine Sandy nahi Sandhya Agarwal…. Dr. Sandhya Agarwal hoon…. Humare pyaar ke natak ko ghar me rakhte hain….. Theek?

Vishal: (Angrily) No theek!

Sandhya: (Shocked) Vishal! Ye hospital hai!

Vishal hastily said….

Vishal: Nai tumhare theek question ke liye no theek nahi tha…. Matlab not for in my home… It's not for happening anywhere…. Are chodo naa…. Main tumse Sri ke baare me baat karne aaya tha!

Sandhya: (Smiling) Pata tha…. Sri ke baare me kya?

Vishal: (Hesitantly neared her and asked softly) Theek to ho jayegi naa?

Sandhya's smile faded and with worry she looked at him not answering anything…..

Vishal: Sandhya please…. Aise chup mat rehena…. Main such janana chahatha hoon… Wahan tumne Dipika se aaj raat ki time maangi thi…. Vo such much ke liye ya....

Sandhya: Nai…. Vo such me maanga tha…. Agar raat ko situation critical naa hui to she would recover fine warna….

Vishal took hold of her arm strongly as Sandhya winced…. 😵

Vishal: Warna? (Sternly) Warna kuch nahi…. Sri ko kuch nahi hoga, kuch nahi hona chahiye….. Understand?

Sandhya: (Wincing) Vishal…. Haath chodo… You are hurting me!

Vishal: (Not listening to Sandhya and speaking more sternly) Dipika ki jaan hai vo…. Use kuch ho gaya to Dipika ko sambhaalna mushkil hi nahi naa mumkin ho jayega…. Uske baad to uski baaki ki zindagi bhi vo biker degi…. You have to save her… Doctor ho…. Do it! Agar use kuch hua, to tumhe aur is hospital ko main chodoonga nahi!

Sandhya got angry at this and pried off Vishal's hand from her arm and said….

Sandhya: Mr. Vishal Malhotra… Main doctor hoon… Haan… Bhagwaan nahi…. For your kind information main ek gynecologist hoon…. Sri meri zimmedaari hai hi nahi….. Lekin as the Chief of this hospital, as a dutiful doctor every patient is my responsibilty…. Yahi sochke main har case me doctors ki help karti hoon… Special attention deti hoon…. Khaaskar jab main Dipika ko jaanti hoon…. Ise aapko mujhe samjhaane ki zaroorat nahi hai! 😡

Saying she turned on her heels…. She stopped a passing ward boy who had a tray in his hand and asked…

Sandhya: Ye ICU ke madam ke liye hi hai, hai naa? ❓

Wardboy: (Nodding) Ji madam… Lekin madam kal raat se unhe dete aa raha hoon, kuch bhi nahi khati vo… Wapas le aa jaata hoon… Ab

Sandhya: (Sternly) Tumse jo kaha gaya hai vo karo…. Vo khaati hain nahi khaati ye unke marzi… Lekin dena humari duty…. (Glaring back at Vishal) Lekin ab zaroor khayengi…. Unke saath ek sahib hain unhe de dena aur kehena madam ke liye hai…. Vo dekh lenge…. Yahan ke patients hi nahi unke rishtedaar bhi humari zimmedaari hai!

Saying Sandhya walked off as the ward boy passed by Vishal….. Vishal stopped him and asked….

Vishal: Ye khaana kis ke liye le jaa raha hai?

Wardboy: Sir kal raat ek bachchi admit hui thi pneumonia ke liye…. Unki maa ke liye hai…. Kal raat se unhone kuch nahi khaya…. Lekin Sandhya madam unhe dene ko kehti hain…. Kabhi unka man badal jaye isliye!

Vishal: Ye khana sirf is madam ko diya jaa raha hai?

Wardboy: Nahi sir…. Yahan ke patients se bhi zyada Sandhya madam unke rishtedaaron ka khayal rakhne ko kehte hain…. Ek baar aisa hua ki patient ko admit karke unke pita ki bhi halat kharab ho gayi thi… Tab se ye intezaam hua hai…. Lekin baaki sab ke liye to madam ek do baar bhejhte hain…. Is bachchi ki maa ke liye hare k ghante me dene ko kaha hai… Dekhte hain ki ab khayengi ya nahi!

Vishal: Oh…. Is baar zaroor khayengi…. Tum jao.....

He chided for his bad behavior…. What was happening to him? She was doing so much… She knew her duty well… Sandhya never got angry…. And he made her angry doubting her efficiency more than that, doubting her duty consciousness… He was behaving strangely…. He knew why…. When anything was not in your favor you naturally tend to behave aggressively to everyone…. His aggressiveness was his anger….. Shaking his head, asking forgiveness from Sandhya inwards he turned to go back when he saw Ajay and Boxer standing at the entrance from the reception area!

Seeing Ajay and Boxer there, surprised Dipika looked at Aryan who said….

Aryan: Actually hum yahan ek case ke investigation ke silsile me Sandhya se baat karne aaye the….

Dipika: Case?!? Yahan? (Thinking again) Tum aur Vishal?

Aryan: (Rolling his eyes) Yeah yeah…. CBI and Special Squad again!

Dipika smiled seeing his expression….

She looked again and saw the trio had reached them….

Boxer: Dipika everything alright? ❓

Dipika just nodded as Ajay hands on hips exclaimed looking at Aryan and Dipika….

Ajay: Tumhari ek bachchi hai? That too six years old!!!!!! She's living with you here….. Now she's in hospital…. Aryan knows! Vishal of course will know…. (Suspiciously) I bet Neha knows too…. You didn't tell us?!?!?! Tumne bataya nahi!

Aryan: Ajay ab bas…. Ye sab baatein abhi nahi! Not necessary….

As Ajay started to protest again Aryan glared at him which shut him up…. He just shrugged off his shoulder and asked…

Ajay: Kaisi hai Sirshti? ❓

Dipika: (Smiling a little) Ab ke liye theek hai…. Aur uska naam Srishti hai!

Ajay: (Smiling) Srishti! Oh nice name… Us receptionist ne phone pe kaha to theek se suna nahi pronounciation…. (Thinking) Lekin usne Srishti Gosh kaha?! Gosh?!?? Lekin tumhara maiden name Gosh hai, to…..

Before Ajay could continue anything further Aryan indicated to Vishal who grabbed his hand and whispered…

Vishal: Ajay! Bas haan…. Tumne kab se name research shuru kiya hai? Ab kuch nahi poochoge tum right?

Ajay: Lekin its just a doubt…. Valid one…. Dipika ka maiden name Gosh hai naa… Ek case me uske uncle aur cousin suspects the…. From Gosh family! To uski beti….

Vishal: Ajay! Ajay! Ab aage kuch bola naa…. Neha ko bata doon, tumhe name investigations me interest aa gaya hai..... Khaaskar Dipika ki!

Ajay: Nai! No…. Use pata chala to khaamakhaan gussa karegi.... Waise use pata hai Dipika ki beti hai?

Vishal: Er… Haan… Use sab pata hai…. Ab tum aur Boxer office ke liye nikalo… Pharmacy se evidences collect karo… CBI ki team office aayegi, to unse report collect karke file karna…. Main aur Aryan… We'll come later!

Ajay nodded and both of them went back to the others….

Seeing Boxer and Ajay there Dipika was surprised and did wonder how they would take to the new information of her having a daughter…. She knew Boxer wouldn't ask her anything openly but knew Ajay never could contain excitements…. And been an investigator it didn't take him long to find out about her maiden name been Sri's too!

Ajay: Dipika…. Hume abhi office jaana hai…. Take care and of Srishti too…

Dipika smiled and nodded….

Ajay: Chalein Boxer?

Boxer nodded and bade Dipika bye…. Both of them turned and left…. Seeing them go alone Dipika asked Aryan and Vishal….

Dipika: Tum dono bhi jaao…. Case hai…. If CBI and Special Squad are together, it must be an important case…..

Vishal: Haan hai…. To? Ab tumse zyada mu…. (Glancing at Aryan) hume koi case important nahi hai!

Dipika: Lekin Vishal…

Aryan: (Interrupting) Dipika! Its no use protesting… We are not going anywhere leaving you alone…..

Aryan: (Interjecting) Par var kuch nahi… Ab tum humari baat suno…. You are going home now…

Dipika: (Interrupting) Kya? Ghar? Nahi…. Main…

Aryan: Dipika! Listen… Tum bahut tired ho…. You need rest…. Kal raat se yahan ho…. Go home… Take rest… Aur subah aana….. Vishal will take you home!

Saying he looked at Vishal who nodded earnestly and said….

Vishal: Yeah… Bahut dinon baat isne kuch pate ki baat ki hai…. He's right…. Tum ghar jaa rahi ho….

Dipika: Nahi…. Main Sri ko is halat me, yahan akele chodkar kaheen nahi jaa sakti…. Mujhe wahan chain nahi milega!

Aryan: (Softly) Kisne kaha Sri yahan akeli hogi…. Main yahan rukoonga…. Aur Sri ke hosh me aane ke baad uski dekhbaal karne tum me bhi shakti honi chahiye naa? And now you need rest badly! Ghar jao fresh ho lo…. Wapas aane par tumhare liye aur Sri ke liye samaan bhi laa dena!

As Dipika started to protest again Aryan simply asked….

Aryan: Mujh par bharosa hai? ❓

One question… Enough… To shut Dipika up…. Trust??!!? Him!??!? How much did she…. More than herself…. More than anything in this world…. Taking a deep breath she simply nodded….

Vishal: (Impressed) Vove… Nice way…. Ab chalo…

Saying Vishal took hold of Dipika's hand and made her stand up….

Dipika: Er… Please, agar kuch hua to please mujhe phone kar dena…..

Aryan: Kuch nahi hoga….. Kal subah jab tum aaogi, to Sri theek ho gayi hogi! Ab jao! (To Vishal) Dinner karva dena!

Vishal nodded, bowing slightly as Aryan shook his head in disbelief.... Vishal took Dipika away with him… Before rounding the corner Dipika looked back with concern as Aryan nodded in reassurance!

Aryan went inside the ICU…. He took a look at the small girl lying tired and worn out in the bed…. Sighing he took the medicine chart and read through the timings of the medicine….. Just then he got a call and surprised Aryan left the ICU fast… He had forgot to keep the phone in silent mode…. He took out the phone from his pocket and looking at the number smiled….

Aryan: Hello! Kya hai Dipika?

Aryan: Haan…. Main abhi medicines hi dekh raha tha….

Aryan: Nurses hain, lekin main bhi khayal rakhoonga ki medicines time par di jaa raheen hain…. Fine?

Aryan: Bina pareshaani ke ab jao… Take care good night!

Saying Aryan cut the call… A soft breeze blew in through the window… He went and looked at the sky which was scattered with colors of the setting sun…. He remembered to keep his mobile in silent….

Within five minutes his cell buzzed again and looking at the number he rolled his eyes….

Aryan: Ab kya hai baba?

Aryan: Of course… Agar beech me Sri hosh me aati hai, to pehle tumhe phone kar doonga….

Aryan: Uske paas hi rahoonga…. (Softly) Itna to bharosa kar sakti ho mujhpar! Bye!

Aryan cut the call smiling and thought how much Dipika loved Sri…. Sri was her life…. More than her life…. He thought back about Pallavi… How much he too had loved her…. And Pallavi was new in his life…. Just about two years old… He was just only getting used to her tactics and game plays…. And he was shattered with just two years attachment…. And Sri… Dipika's and her bonding was six years old…. If anything at all happened to Sri Dipika would not be shattered…. But would be broken never to bond again!

He looked at this mobile expecting Dipika to call back to tell something…. But kept the phone back in his pocket smiling….. His last sentence had made an effect on the other side! 😊

He looked back at the starry night and closed his eyes! 😳
