The garba was in full swing…. The guys and girls had formed circles and were dancing around clapping their hands enjoying the Indian dance! 👏
Not many of them knew how to dance garba, so of course Mrs. Desai was given the courtesy to teach them the initial steps… Mrs.Desai bent forward clapping her hands and straightened…. She rotated on her spot clapping her hands behind her…. And then repeated the steps….
Mrs.Desai: Dekha kitna aasaan hai! Isme aise hi haath chalana….. Pair aur apne shareer ko kisi bhi angle me mod do! Bas!
Purvi: (Clapping her hands😛) Wonderful aunty…. Aap to garba ki dance academy khol sakteen hain!

Ajay looked at Neha smiling shaking his head…. Walking over to her…. He took her hand and pulled her closer to him, as she looked up at him enjoying the closeness but not showing it on her face…. Others around smiled to themselves seeing the to-be-bride and to-be-groom together…. ☺️
Ajay: Mujhe kabhi garba dance karte hue dekha hai tumne? Ki aise keh rahe ho?
Neha: (Smiling with a challenging look) Thoda bahut dance kya kar liya ki sab form ke dance aate hain tumhe Ajay Desai! Ye folk dance hai! Indian folk dance!

Hearing this Neha was startled for a moment… Out of sheer happiness…. Hearing her name transformation for the first time, that too from Ajay she was stumbled by heart…. Resisting herself knowing Ajay was teasing her, she held on to her stern expression and said…. 😳

The Gujarati DJ for the night nodded and switched over to a peppy garba number!
Ajay geared for another performance of the night, indicated to the garba DJ who had come in specially for the night….. He also pulled in all the guys with him, because garba was not danced single….
Dipika who had heard the whole conversation whispered to Neha impressed….
Dipika: Kya baat hai Neha! Ajay se aisa sawaal? 😉
Neha: (Looking at Ajay lovingly who was getting the guys ready for the dance😳) Bas…. Ajay ko garba dance karte hue dekhna chahathi thi…. (Glancing) Tumhe to uske baare me pata hai… Agar main yoheen keheti to maanta nahi… Bahut nakhare karta…. Isliye thoda chidaya…. (Looking back at Ajay who looked back at her challenging)
Purvi: (Smiled looking at the other girls who also nodded understanding) Ohhh!! Wow…. Ye to kamaal ho gaya! (Doubtfully🤔) Lekin Neha such me Ajay ko garba aata hai?
Neha: Purvi! Aisa kya pooch liya? Ajay to garba me expert hai…. Usne schools me garba me kayi prizes jeete hain…. Bas ye ki college aane ke baad, uske cool dude ke image ko maintain karne vo garba dance nahi karta tha… Isliye aaj thoda use yaad dila diya!

Hearing it Neha's smile slowly started to disappear, but for sake she tried not to show it…. But Sandhya had noticed it!
Sandhya: Achcha baba…. Ek kaam karte hain… Agar…. Ajay ne tumhe impress kar diya aur tumse style me dance karne ke liye tumhara haath maanga, to hum naachenge…. Warna to….

All the girls' attention was pulled back to the dancers as the music came on!

It said that to tell whether the rice is cooked one sample is enough and here this sample was more than enough to tell that the guys' especially Ajay didn't say he knew garba for sake!

After a round of dancing Ajay glanced at Neha with winning look….. Neha smiled and indicated she was impressed…. In between his dance he did a small movement like bowing his thanks to her compliments!😉

As ill luck would have it Dipika was a little farther away from Aryan…. And of course he didn't yet have the courage to go and approach her directly for a dance! So when he extended his hand to Aadhya with a nod from him, Aadhya became his partner!
Dipika standing with Mrs. Malhotra looked at him and smiled to herself… Even if Aryan would have asked her for a dance she wouldn't have been able to accept it… She wasn't yet into it now!
As ill luck would have it on other side…. Sandhya hadn't expected Vishal to ask her for a dance but she hadn't expected to ask HER for a dance! Her jovial mood which had set in with the garba disappeared as she saw Vishal enjoying his dance with the girl!😡

Just as she turned Aryan turned to look at her and saw her moving around Vishal completing their circle…. She was a good… Damn good dancer….. And seeing her so happy and celebrating he liked it very much! ☺️

The dancers pushed Ajay and Neha to the center…. The girls formed the inner circle while the guys formed the outer one……

Remembering, she thought back surprised that Sandhya had not danced from the time they had come inside the house…. And that too for such a peppy song! 🤔

Dipika looked at Vishal and the girl and smiled…. Well they did seem close in the dance… But they were dancing and during dances it cannot be said who would be close to whom…. What Sandhya failed to notice was that it was the girl who was trying to get closer to Vishal and he was not much interested in her!

Even though he tried to keep his distance….
They were dancing a sequence where he had rotated the girl…. He rotated himself and then extended his hand for the girl…. Just as the girl was about to place her hand on his……

He tried telling something and in the process had lifted his hand, which was still holding the girl's hand…. And Sandhya's eyes widened more in anger…. 😡
As if in shock Vishal let go off the girl's hand as she winced and said….

The girl looked at her and Vsihal in turns…. Then with a twist of her mouth turned around and walked off!

Vishal stared stunned at her seeing that his respect was coming down as minutes passed by!

Sandhya: (Sarcastically😈) Achcha?!!? Wahi paas aa rahi thi? To tu door jaa sakta tha naa? Lekin nahi… You enjoyed all the attention isn't it? Agar ladkiyon se itna hi attention achcha lagta hai, to mujhe kyun ignore karta reheta hai?
Vishal: (Incredulously) Hello! Maine aisa kab kaha ki mujhe ladkiyon se attention achcha lagta hai? Main to bas…
Vishal was left open mouthed staring at Sandhya startled, because she had caught his collar…. Taking her face closer to him, she said slowly and sternly making clear her every point…
Sandhya: Ek baat khan kholke, apne dimaag me daalna Mr. Vishal Malhotra…. Ladkiyaan tumhare peeche bhaagti hain, kyunki tum is layak ho…. Kyunki tum Sandhya ki pasand ho, aur Sandhya ki pasand sabko jealous karta hi hai… Lekin… (Tightening her grip on his collar) Agar tum kisi ke peeche gaye…. Ya uske baare me soche bhi, to yaad rakhna… Tumhare halat ko kya se kya bana deti hoon! Ab ke liye... (Leaving his collar and straightening his kurta) Ye kaafi hai!
Then smiling suddenly she leant forward and gave a peck on his cheek…. Patting lightly on his cheeks she turned around to leave…. 😉
Suddenly surprised she turned around and saw that Vishal had caught her hand…. She looked up at him as he pulled her closer to him… He looked at her for a long time…. And she looked back at him looking at her…. First time ever he himself had approached her, and she wanted this moment to long last…
Just then the lights went off startling Sandhya blinding her for a moment…. But Vishal's grip tightened on her wrist as he went closer to ear…. She smiled to herself enjoying his breath against her ear wondering what was coming next….☺️
It was exactly twelve O'clock as someone's cell alarm went off…
Slowly he whispered….
Vishal: Happy Birthday! 😛
Instantly it seemed like different musical ornaments started to play the happy birthday tune…. And just a few seconds later a female voice also started singing "Happy Birthday" 😊
Sandhya's eyes flew open to see a serene Vishal smiling back at her…. Only then she noticed that she was bathed in a spot light shining on her….. Just as she looked around surprised, she noticed another spotlight come on near the door… And through it entered Aadhya carrying a cake lit with a candle…. Behind her few people came in playing different ornaments like guitar, mouth organ, even a small drum! 😳
Surprised she looked up at Vishal guiding her smoothly to the hall center exactly when Aadhya too brought the cake, the spotlight moving with them… Aadhya gave a peck on Sandhya's cheeks and holding out the cake wished her sister….
Aadhya: Happy Birthday Di! 🤗
Sandhya could do nothing but just smile back still not able to believe the surprise in front of her…. Her birthday!!!!! And she had forgotten it!!!!! It was unbelievable…. But true…. For the past few days shuttling between hospital and Neha's Sangeet preparation she had lost track of the days and dates…. She remembered Neha's marriage date, but only that occasion had registered in her mind and she had failed to remember that the day always marked something special for her year after year….
Vishal: (Taking the plastic knife from the cake tray extended it to her) Come on cut it!
Sandhya looked up at him realizing only then that it was Vishal… He?!?! He had planned this surprise for her!?!!? Really!?!? He did!!?!? Her happiness was knowing no bounds! ⭐️
Aadhya: Di kaatiye naa!
Sandhya looked back at her sister and gave her a nod… Taking the knife from Vishal she blew out the candle and cut the cut… Just as she put the knife on the cake, there was a burst and startled she looked up to see small color balls and sparkling papers fall down from the top… She looked about and saw that some person had burst the color paper cracker….
Just then even the lights came on showing surprised faces all around… When the power had gone out everyone had stopped dancing and talking, waiting for the power to come back….
No one around had known about this preparation and so everyone was stunned for a moment… But then realization striking them, they all clapped singing Happy Birthday as Sandhya continued to cut the cake…
They all crowded around her to wish her singing and clapping….
Mr and Mrs. Agarwal first among them… They hugged their daughter wishing her, blessing her and the others followed…
Mrs. Agarwal feeding a piece of cake to Aadhya hugged her and said…
Mrs.Agarwal: Bahut achcha preparation tha Aadhya…. Humne to sirf cake laane ko kaha tha (Looking about at the guys who were still playing music)… Tumne to kamaal hi kar di…
Sandhya who had bent down to take blessings from Mrs.Malhotra straightened her smile disappearing…. Her world came crashing down around her having heard what her mother had said to Aadhya…. Disappointed she slowly turned towards Vishal talking to Dipika… So after all he hadn't done anything for her! 😕
Aadhya: (Was saying) Mom! Maine bhi sirf cake ki request ki thi… Baaki sab Vishal ji ne arrange kiya hai…. Mujhe bhi nahi pata…. Unhone bas kaha tha ki barah jab baje bahar koi cake ke saath wait kar raha hoga and I can bring it in at exactly at 12 'O clock…. All these were a surprise for me too!
Sandhya who was looking at Vishal upset turned to Aadhya her world blooming again!
Sandhya: Aadhya! Such me Vishal ne ye sab arrangements ki hai! 😛
Aadhya: Of course Di! Isme main kyun jhooth boloongi…. Aaj subah gayi thi unse cake ki arrangement karne…. Vo bhi kal… Matlab aaj shaadi ke baad… Lekin unhone hi idea diya ki celebrations raat tak chalegi to barah baje hi cake mil jayega…. Baaki sab ke baare me unhone mujhse kaha bhi nahi… He did it on his own!
Slowly Sandhya turned towards Vishal who had walked outside the house…. He was talking to some people near the door paying them… She walked towards him…. Just as Vishal finished paying he turned around just short of bumping into Sandhya…
Vishal: Oh! Sorry!
Sandhya: Thank you!
Vishal: Kyun?
Sandhya: (Glancing back) For everything!
Vishal: (Casually) Oh ye sab?!?! Ye sab to Aadhya chahathi thi… Bas usne…
Sandhya: (Interrupting) Aadhya mere birthday ko celebrate karna chahathi thi…. Lekin ye surprise tumne plan kiya tha…. Mujhe pata hai!
Vishal: (Uncomfortable that Sandhya might think it otherwise which he didn't want her to) Nai… Bas she wanted to plan a surprise and I just helped….
Sandhya: (Understanding) Ye kaafi hai mere yakeen ko mazboot karne ke liye ki tum mujhse pyaar karte ho…. (Moving closer to him making him stumble sideways out of the view of the hall, by the wall of the house) Pehle thoda shaq tha, lekin ab nahi…. (Determined) And so I promise… Ki main jaldi ye bhi pata laga loongi, ki tum mujhse door bhaag kyun rahe ho…. (Moving more closer to him backing him against the wall) Mujhe apne jaan se zyada pyaar karte ho, lekin maan nahi rahe… You have raised an iron wall in between us… (Putting her hands on his shoulders) But…. Iron melts in high degree fire…. And this iron wall will also melt in the high degree of my love!
Saying she caught tightened her grip around his neck and kissed him! 😲 😳 ⭐️
Much to the surprise of Vishal stunning him and startling… Before he could react she parted from him smiling….
Sandhya: (Flicking his hair lovingly) Thank you for my first birthday gift of this year… Ye poora saal mere liye bahut hi achcha jayega! (Hearing the music come on again) Oh! Mere birthday year ka pehla dance… Chalo chalo! 😃
Saying Sandhya went inside…. Still trying to get out of the incident that had just occurred Vishal straightened…. He knew it was her birthday today… He had so much wanted to do so much for her… But against his will had refrained from doing so…. Giving her all the surprises of the world…. But when Aadhya had requested him to celebrate her birthday after the marriage, he had seen an opportunity to surprise her without him been the direct reason… But…. 😕
No… What had happened, shouldn't have happened!
Why was he losing in front of her?!?!?! The more he tried to grip sand in his tight hands, it kept slipping away… As she said her love was melting the barrier he had set…. He had to do it soon! 😳
