I get it - the degrees of humanity and divinity, masculinity and femininity. But when I look around, when I see people distort this - I am unable to bear it. People forget that this was Mahalakshmi stepping on this earth and we managed to drive her away. What chance do we mortal women have? Ram and Sita went through such harsh incidents to establish a maryada and yet people managed to interpret it for their own greedy and selfish purposes.
Don't get me wrong - this is about society, not Ram and Sita.

Today's episode was soo good!! Best episodes truly!!! 👏
Finally you correlated your "line" Shruthi di and what an amazing analysis 👏

Sita's words were piercing!! Is this the same Sita who said after her AP that praja will except their king n queen, who lacked d knowledge of Sanskriti? No! Definitely not! this the Sita who knows both Prakriti n Sanskriti. Janak gave her the theory but education is incomplete without practical... That's what Ram gave her.

When Sita gave AP Ram never actly wanted her to giv AP, his reaction after d AP was enough to say that, as he knew, nothing will change. As the patriarch society will never accept a women's explanation. Patriarch society will only understand a man's words. But how will the ppl believe a man who is thought to be a "patni bhakt" ?

So he banished Sita. So dat from accused she becums the victim. And then he changes the society for her, giving his life as an example of how Sanskriti is nothing without Prakriti. And the society understands this tym.
But that wouldn't have been d real justice.

Now that banished queen comes to picture. The praja has repented for Sita, but what about Dhobi's daughter, Dhobi's wife? What about those numerous women who went through same or will go through same later? Now a queen has to take decision.

And she chose her StreeDharma above her husband n children. Just like a king had chosen his Rajdharma over his wife n unborn child.
And just like a husband had given his unborn child to his wife, so that if required they even go against him for her, a wife gives their sons to her husband, so that he never feels alone.

Sita going to Janak was such a beautiful scene!! Her knowledge for Prakriti will finally bring abt the change.
She comes to Ram as Janak's daughter n now goes away from him forever as Janak's daughter. But Ram's Sitae will always stay in his heart .

Just like a written book or theory is visible, but the practical knowledge is not visible... even here Janaki will be visible, who will give the Ultimate justice to the society but Ram ki Sita who remains in his heart forever will not be visible...

And Sita walking with Ram n leaving stopping mid way 👏 It's just the same as the scene where after marriage Sita let's d sand fall n Ram hold it n says I will never let u lose.. She will go away giving justice to many women. And Ram gave her identityto her ...

But what were those words by Hanuman to protect Sita even if earth breaks and Ram stressing on Punar Milan are still a mystery... 😕😆

Ram already changed the rule that here on no woman will be asked to do agnipariksha infront of the ayodhya praja. Why cannot Sita go to ayodhya when all are guilty and Ram changed their perception. In the epic Sita did BP because they questioned her purity. Still did not get why BP now.

Di I guess because SKR's Ram acts differently, SKR's Sita reacts differently.
Usual version say Ram wants Sita to giv AP, (not willingly) though he is aware of her chastity but is bound by Rajdharma so that Sita can answer the doubts at once and no one dares to question her again...
Even this Ram was bound by Rajdharma, but he never wanted Sita to give AP, not even first tym. As he knew world won't change with this AP.
So he changes rules accordingly.

Also Ram was not only respectful towards Sita, but to all the women. In SiRa first convo he said there shud be balance in men n women, or equality. He said he will have one wife.
Later when he married Sita, he told her that his only wife will be Sita.
Thus Sita's honor as well as equality of gender were equally important for him.

Here proving Sita's chastity was not d only issue, which Ram had already done, but issue was equality of gender as well, for that he needed Sita.

If a King can abandon a queen for Rajdharma, then a women can abandon a man for StreeDharma. Afterall dharma is above all, even spouses n children. Ram knew Sita won't come very well, still went to her purposely to face a public rejection from her to establish this equality or dharma, Sita just did what he expected her to do.

Final message of epic was to show dharma is above all, just way of showing is different .
I don't think to prove this message Sita being asked to give 2nd AP n getting humiliated by Ayodhya is a always necessary. As Shruthi di said, no one understands Ram's real motives but just see him asking Sita to give AP.
SKR's Ram is much connectable here ... And Sita looks much strong not a victim.

somehow last week episodes Many times Ram/Matas kept asking Sita to come back, but Sita somehow did not take the decision of going away right now. It would not much have been much impact if she had sent LK with Ram and she stayed back in the ashram and later returned to her mother because she had fulfilled her duties. Even before Ram had said that Knowing Sita, he was sure she will not return to Ayodhya. By him repeatedly asking and saying that all will stay back in the ashram he made sure that Sita takes the decision of going back to the divine right there when everybody has all that had happened fresh in mind and the right stage is set now. So he must have had that subtle smile... when he could see what he desired is happening...

  • Yesterday She stood pregnant and alone accused by the society ,abandoned by her family ,facing an uncertain future for her and her unborn children. She walks the difficult path even when she had the option of going back to her supportive father...because even then her identity as a woman takes precedence over that of a daughter, sister, wife or even a mother. She raises her children with such strong values and respect for women that they don't hesitate even for a moment to fight a kingdom as well as the famous Raghuvanshis for a lady's honour without even realising that they are in fact fighting for their own mother.
  • Today she stands amidst a repentant society, a loving family .But neither her love for her husband or children deters her from taking the decision as a woman who-by rejecting the very society that had without any remorse had paved the way for her banishment, fights them not for herself but for all the women who had been wronged by the same prejudiced society.
  • It is extremely sad that we see it happening even in this self proclaimed modern and progressive world.Sita took this extreme step not as a battle for her rights but to bring about a elemental change in the perceptions of the society.
  • Hari as both Ram and Krishna have stood with the women and for them trying to establish a new and balanced society. But we stand today with all their lessons forgotten that has resulted in an society where the oppression against woman still continues.

Lovely analysis Shruthi...the line that merges and the one that divides. similarly the touch that can thwart her resolve.
Will Janak get to see his Nandini or would she disappear before his arrival?

Savitha a beautiful post...yes the woman who was abandoned embraced a new identity and raised her lads with the same wide perspective her father had raised her. The twins stand up for what is fair and just. The anguish when they learn it was their mother who had been at the receiving end...the willingness to sever ties with a family that did not stand by its Kulvadhu
Today the world wants to claim her self respect...she is determined to preserve her identity...to be the woman she has become because of the several test and tribulations she has faced and evolved into her pristine state of mind.

@divine -Ram aditi explained most of the things. But let me ask you one thing. Why is Sita remembered even now. Why not the countless woman of the famed kings. How many knows the wives of Ashoka, Maharana Pratap or for that matter Chandragupta Maurya. We might know them, but do we know them as they are mostly passing reference in the history books. The woman we remember from our history is Rani Lakshmi Bhai who fought for the identity and independence of Jhansi. The other woman who can think of is Mirabhai her conviction and Bhakthi towards Krishna irrespective of a society who shows apathy for her and to some extend wife of Prithviraj Chauhan, Sayogitha who had the guts to defy the swayamvar and run away with her love.
To establish the identity in a male dominated society, to stand up for what you believe is right, to assert yourself, to tell the world you are also a human with feelings Sita had to do BP. Because the society doesn't acknowledge a woman's feelings. Most things that happen to them is fate because we are born as woman. If any problem in family, point the finger at woman. If food is not good blame her, if she demands some time from her husband call it irritation, if she questions your decision tell she doesn't have it in her to understand complex things. In fact the society expect woman to be a robot doing all the house hold chores, taking care of kids and being in bedroom for ( well hope you understand, I am not explaining) night chores. Society has to be told she is not that. She cannot be used the way they want. She has feelings, and if her self respect is questioned, she will react in a way a woman should be reacting.
Society doesn't realize the Mahalakshmi. The nurturing force they are getting. They make it destructive.

@Savitha in Kaliyuga also woman has to take decisions at times based on being a woman instead of taking decisions as per roles. If we think as woman we will understand another woman's pain. And pain will connect. Men has programmed us to take decisions based on roles. Woman has to come out of this mess and take decision as woman.
@aditi you have explained everything. Hanuman will come don't worry. Just like the lines. I expect something and I will give analysis if I get that. Main thing about Sita was that she held the power in her hand to give justice to many woman. She could either take the tough decision or accept her new found life and move on. The moment comes only once to protect dharma. if you lose that, then it takes a long time for it to come back. That is what is happening in Kaliyuga. People unable to take tough choices. I am so glad about the present PM Narendra Modi. He openly told yesterday in his speech in Varanasi that the issue of female foeticide and triple talaq has nothing to do with religion. If a hindu man does female foeticide he will land in jail and the same provision should be available to his Muslim sisters who are the victims of archaic practice of Triple Talaq. It was a very bold statement going beyond the vote bank politics.

@Aditi this is one of your best takes too
Specially love the below part👍🏼

And she chose her StreeDharma above her husband n children. Just like a king had chosen his Rajdharma over his wife n unborn child.
And just like a husband had given his unborn child to his wife, so that if required they even go against him for her, a wife gives their sons to her husband, so that he never feels alone.
