Okay, DD, u win..😃
Yup yup the epi was really good but ur analysis was even better.. totally agree with each of your point.. here is a thought that occurred to me,
Parvati asks Mahadev.. if the entire point is to kill Ravan, then Vishnu in the form of ram can kill him in a moment, then y this pain of separation for Ram n Sita? And then he reveals the story to her..
Now my first thought after the story ended was.. okay Rishi bhigru cursed Vishnu.. but if he so chose, Vishnu could easily have gained immunity from the curse, being a God. But He did not. Is it to teach us some lessons? Perhaps!
See what Vishnu did - ill khyati - was actually a horrific act - taken as a stand alone incident..a harmless n that too a woman.. a motherlike figure.. killed by Hari himself was just indigestible.. as an independent incident.
Even given the circumstances, he could have found some middle path, isn't it? Like he did many other times, esp. during the Krishna avatar. For example, he could have made her forget giving protection to Asurs, or something such. But I have some reasoning behind it all..Hari himself was under a lot of pressure I think.. from his fellow Gods.. n perhaps he was in a kind of josh to kill the asurs n free the world of them.. so perhaps he did not think the situation out..
Almost, the v. next moment, he must have realized how wrong a deed he had done.. hence his acceptance of Bhigru's curse..
Again I may be totally off here.. because Gods often honours unjustified curses too.. Another thing is to bow before a person whose status is lower than n not using one's superior powers to override them (in this case Vishnu dint try to override the curse with his power.)
This is just a thought which occurred to me.. please do let me know what u all think of it..
Btw, DD, I know m probably nuts.. but ur title reminds me of a novel by Agatha Christie -Dead man's folly..😆
