The word representative does it ring any bell.Bharat will be ruling as a representative for 14 years without sitting on the throne. He will be a sevak to the person who has given him a chance to rule and he will rule as per his values for the welfare of people. Something connects.I wanted to dance when I heard this word.reason. what is democracy guys.by the people, of the people, for the people. Rulers are representatives who are given mandate to take decision for the welfare of people. In democracy rulers are people sevaks. Just like after 14 years Bharat gives the throne to ram who is people choice our representatives also have to accept people mandate after 5 years. In tetra yuga in a dynasty democracy was practiced.Bharat didn't take the hostile take over of crown.And see the irony today in democracy dynasty is practiced. To get power all illegal methods are adopted. Qualification is not the criteria family name is.booths are captured to over turn people mandate. A rajya Sabha creates tyranny over the elected members of parliament stalling bills and wasting tax payer money. Bharat was the classic example of democratic ruler who ruled like a sevak. And we say we had dynasty and democracy came from west. Time to read Ramayana once again to correct that pov.

@Shruthi: Beautiful comparison.
It looked like nowhere anyone thought about the dharm of bharath. So even when dharm is established, it will be adharm for some people.
Getting a leader, loved and respected by all is impossible, but getting a leader largely (in higher percentage) liked by all for his/her good deeds is possible.
I have a feeling that this made the Ayodhya people to claim the king to be superior by all means (banishment of sita) because they had an in-charger in the place (Bharath) who left no chance for anyone to raise the finger against him.

Hmmm...this is so true!!
What an irony,nah??
On one hand we have rule of monarchy where generally it's expected that people's wishes would ot be cared but we see the whole Ayodhya family sacrificing for the benefit of their praja.
Cut to present,our dear M.P. & M.LA. 's are given the position by common people but all they do as soon as they come to power is maximize their benefit's giving the least thought and concern about the people for whom they are in that position.😡

Well said Shruthi, The power has to be balanced with fulfilling one's duties responsibly ...And that is where our politicians have failed us and in the process themselves too.
Ram was right in saying that we love god's form more than his teachings and principles for living. Some how ,seeing the disrespect and the position of a woman in this modern society tells us how far we have come from Ram's path and Krishna's teachings...sad, isn't it?
Bhaishri always says that if 'Baghvat' teaches humans the art of dying then 'Ramayan' teaches us the art of living.

@Antika watch kerala assembly day in day out murky details are coming out. You know last year the opposition MLAs overturned the speaker's chair in the assembly and shouted slogans. They were not behaving like people representative's but some gundas. There is a booklet we have got in our home telling the achievements of our so called MLA. 4 times the flood happened last year and we were trapped. Waste management less said the better. But if you see the booklet it feels as if he has bought moon to our constituency. 😕
@Savitha people love to do poojas and stand in big queues in temples to wash away their sins. As that is very easy now. Following Ram's and Krishna's path well that is quite difficult right. Why to bother when we have instant poojas available

Yes Ramya. In a democracy people voices are heard and actions taken by leaders not like today. But there were such things in the past. Lal Bahadur Shastri resigned as Railway Minister taking the moral responsibility of Ariyallor accident though he couldn't have done anything to stop it. It was flash flood. And today Railway accidents happen this way that way due to infrastructure inadequacy and lack of proper maintenance. Who is resigning.

@Shruthi:Rightly pointed. Few days back, I saw one post quoting the help given by railways minister via twitter. Heard he has done many helps before too. Nowadays its strange to a see a minister helping people. Hope to have the golden days and real Ram Rajya soon by first we people correcting us.

Yes Ramya. I have not only heard it but personally experienced the current efficiency of Railways. Around 4-5 months back while I was travelling I saw a bag without owner in my front seat. I was occupying the side seat. Even after some 2-3 stations passed no one came for it. I asked all the passengers in the nearby seats if it belongs to them. It belonged to none. I put a message in the helpline given by Railways citing train no and seat no. I didn't expect anything. But Railway police came in the next station, checked the bag and got the owner from the next bogie who had kept his bag and had gone with his friends who were in next bogie. Yes it turned out not to be serious. But the police thanked me and told that we need to be vigilant as we never know whether something is innocent or serious. So Railways respond if we give them info. Railway Minister is doing a good job and I feel so is external affair Ministry. So many rescue operations have happened successfully especially the one in Yemen where we evacuated people from 40 countries including that of US.
