I am not sure how this one will turn out to be. But just thought I shall empty my brain off this, so I can concentrate on other things. This one word was nagging me since few days. Yes it was Kaikeyi's words to Ram when they were crossing the threshold of Ayodhya palace.
"Ram I didn't come to bid you but here to remind you of the rule. Now that Sita is joining you to Vanvas, I wanted to remind that the cloths you are wearing have some significance and you should not cross that as the cloths are meant for Sanyasis. "Unless you accomplish this rule, your Vanvas is not completed, (does that means you may be asked to go again for another term). But guys the disgusting look Lakshman gave her was worth watching, as if asking her "are you not satisfied with fact that you are sending them to forest, being a mother, how could you even talk such things, shame on you lady" .
What amazed me was the brilliance in which the writers have given words. Had they made her to say, to fulfil your Vanvas, you have to practice celibacy that would have saved her from the heart ache and guilt for the rest of 14 years. But she said you are wearing Valcal and that calls for celibacy and don't diminish its value (by crossing your limits).
Kaikeyi thought she was clever enough to cover up her intentions by saying "It's not me who wanted them to practice celibacy but the cloths they were wearing call it". She tried to pass on the blame to the cloths for but never had she imagined that same words will bite her back later. She had to chew those words for 14 years when her son chose to wear Valcal and lead a sanyasi life. She wanted to prevent Ram & Sita to have their first child even before Bharath & Mandavi. She thought if Ram practices Bramhacharya for the next 14 years, Bharath will a proud father by then and even if someone wants to snatch the throne from him, they can't as Rama will never want the throne from his brother and he will not a son whom the praja or Kausalya or anyone else from Ayodhya wants to crown. Had it not been for those words, may be Bharath would have lead a married life with Mandavi and even if they were not King & Queen. They would have shared a husband wife relationship and would have shared each other's shoulder to cry or to lean. With those words she not just imposed Bramhacharya on Ram but also on Bharath who wore the same cloth to lead an equal celeb life. Just with that one phrase, queen Kaikeyi wrote a tragic history for Raghukul for 14 long years.
Normally it is believed that if a DIL gets pregnant soon after the death of an elderly person in the family, that the person will reborn as a child in the same family to stay connected with the family. If that is to be believed, Kaikeyi stalled Dasharth's rebirth for 15 long years after his death. Otherwise he would have born as son to either Ram or Barath or Shathrughan. If not for her those words, she would not have been deceived to think her son will be the king of Ayodhya throughout his life.Had it not been for those words, she could have or other elders would have convinced Bharath to lead a normal life even with that valcal but she used Valcal as her guard to push Sita & Ram to the pool of Bramhacharya for 14 years and she had no solution to dissolve those words
So guys, please chew the words before you utter as they may boom wrong on you with reverse effect. Once spoken cannot be retrieved. So please think before you ink or speak. You may loose few moments or hours but you will save a life time.
