If he was not an emotional fool who loved his sister more than him, he would have kept them in separate cells in jail than allow them to enjoy the marital bliss. he thought let my sister enjoy the life as she is not a threat to my life but her 8th child and ended up leading a life full of fears and uncertainty.

😊
Before taking the avatar itself, Vishnu made Kamsa an emotional fool. So its a planned murder😉

N Wasnt her wish for Ram's Vanvaas which is not necessarily the same as Sanyaas. There have been many Rishi Muni residing in forest who have families. Didn't the Brahmarishis Vashist and Vishwamitra have offspring?

leading a life of Rishi and of a sanyasi are two different things. A rishi is one who thinks that the purpose of Grahasthshrama is to continue the lineage, so that their ancestors get moksha and they get moksha after death. So even though they are married, they continue to perform yaga, yagnas and teachings. Where as a person who accepts to lead a life of a sanyasi, he has to leave all the material pleasure (including finer cloths, woman and spicy, cooked food). So when she asked Ram for Vanvas, she was sure that he will not indulge in the company of any woman but when Sita planned to accompany him, she had to remind him that he shall lead a sanyasi life.

Yes Geena, when a wicked person plans something, he will think he did a picture perfect plan and nothing can go wrong. Only did he know that his great plan itself will bounce back on him.

@Jaya what a beautiful post. I actually didn't notice that line and you have summed it up quite well. Yes Kaikeyi thought her plans were perfect. But here is where Mandavi's point comes in. Ask Bharat. She thought Bharat will accept what she has done for him. This also goes to show you cant take decision for someone else. It will backfire.
Now coming to Kamsa. We need to understand Krishna was born with Maya. He knew how the world moved.
So what do we get. Devaki's 8th son will kill Kamsa. It is a prophecy. We need to note 8th child not first or second.
First and foremost will Devaki have an 8th child. What all can change in that period. Second what is the probability the 8th child will be a boy.
Hearing the prophecy everyone decided Devaki will have 8th child and it will be a boy. So the mind decided that the prophecy is true.
Now you are trying to prevent the prophecy. As I said in the post on NLP. Brain don't accept negative command.
8th child has to be killed. Fine but why in the world you kill the first 6 borns idiot. If the first 6 borns were left Vasudev as per promise would have given the 8th child to Kamsa and got liberated with his 7 other children or in other way if Vasudev-Devaki were allowed to live happily post marriage with none of their kids touched, Devaki herself would have stopped her 8th born from killing her brother. Will a mother allow her child to kill his uncle who is loving towards them. No.
Vishnu knew if evil has to be eliminated, evil has to be felt in one's life. Kamsa was doing atrocities in the world. it didn't matter to Devaki or Vasudev. To ensure it mattered to them, to ensure they are affected they are shown a glimpse of what Kamsa is doing to the outer world. Killing of their 6 kids makes them to want to end Kamsa and give birth their 8th child as per prophecy.
Same is happening now. If our near and dear ones are doing atrocities to someone else we don't care. It is our father, mother, brother, sister etc.. but then that weapon has turn against us to see how much damage this so called relation of ours is doing to the outside society.

@Shruthi: Yes, I agree that Kamsa believed the prophecy, but the question here is why he forgot the basic knowledge.
If Kamsa was an emotional fool, then what is a need for the god to come and kill him?(Though I know Krishna's avatar is not just to kill kamsa who was not even the dwarabhalak)

yes, if she were not that perfectionist to try and stop Sita from the bliss of motherhood, may be she ahd a chance to have her own grand kids, who would have succeeded as Raghukul rulers.

No, it never crossed her mind that her son may not want to sit on the throne. So she thought she is doing the best favor to her son by asking for the crown to his head. That was the level of confidence she had on her son that he will not refuse her gift given to him on golden plotter.

@Ramya actually this question was asked to me during a personality competition during my college days of which I was one of the finalists( This question was asked in semi final round from which I qualified 😃). My answer was this. Right or wrong don't know, but this was what I answered on the stage as my POV to the question why Kamsa didn't keep Devaki and Vasudev separate.
If Vasudev and Devaki were kept separate it will show to the world Kamsa is afraid, afraid of the prophecy. As a man with huge ego Kamsa didn't want to create such a image that he is afraid of the baby. He wanted to prove the prophecy wrong. He wanted to show the world what Kamsa is, which he can show only by killing Devaki's 8th born. Even before birth Devaki's 8th born was Kamsa's enemy and for him victory meant victory over Devaki's 8th born, not preventing its birth. It was Kamsa's ego that needed to prove to the world his supremacy made him have Vasudev and Devaki in the cell with heavy guards and allow them to have the marital bliss so that the 8th child can be born.

Bharat comes to know about vanvaas but does he know exactly what Kaikeyi demanded (celibacy part)?
Here it is his love for his brother that makes him keep Rama's slippers on the throne and live life like Rama is living in the forest.

Off course he will come to know about her asking Ram to maintain celibacy as it was spelled out in public view. There were so many people around who had heard her words and that will reach him sooner or later.
And it is not just the love for his brother but he knew the legacy of Raghukul that the elder son shall be the king and he was not in any means the elder son. when his elder brother was alive, he shall not even think of the throne even in his nightmare, so how will he grab the throne? Even he studied in the same gurukul where Ram & Lakshman studied.
