Weary Is My Soul...

A father laments...
His beloved son had left him...
Left him alone...
Alone with his sorrows...
Grieving and hurting...

His heart was broken...into million pieces...
the pieces too small to bind again ...scattered...
piercing with their jagged sharp ends...deep inside..
Remorse was eating him up...
He blames himself...relentlessly...

I caused this ...
I failed to fulfill my promises...
I broke my promises...
This pain and sorrow is for me...for me to bear...forever...

His tears don't stop...
His anguish writ on his face...it echoes through his soul...

They are saddened ...
helpless they try in vain to console...
their pain is the same...
they are burning in the same hell...

Ram and Siya see a deer in the ashram...

Breathing his last breaths...
Their eyes are filled with empathy...

They rush to relieve him of his pain...
What ails him Siya asks...

He was separated from his loved ones...
that has caused him immense pain...pain that is unbearable for him...

Ram watches him...unblinking...
lost in remembrance...ravaged...
He understood his pain..he was reminded he too was carrying the same pain...
hidden deep...somewhere...

He speaks...
His voice heavy...
This creature is suffering...
His pain is deep...engraved in his heart...
His praan lie in his loved ones...
He has given up hopes...
he could be brought back to life if he was given a chance to meet his beloveds again...
just once...his hope has dimmed...
He cant be saved...
At this moment we can only give him love...
pure abundant love...empathy...

He speaks of his father's sorrows...
which he could feel...breathe...live...away from him...
through the deer's sorrow...

King Dasharath weeps and laments...
he is reminded of the curse...given for his grave action...
committed unintentionally but done...
which was manifesting now...in the same form...of viyog...
Viyog...which he had given to the old couple...which had now befallen him...

They are coming...he murmurs...in a trance...
He could feel the presence of the angels...
his companions for his last journey...

He feels his son's presence...closer... closer to him...
Ram Ram...he chants...
He rushes and holds him...
supporting his head on his lap he holds his trembling fingers...
Pouring all his love and affection through his eyes...
assuring him of his presence...

He gently puts his hand on his heart...
Strokes his eyes closed...
His heartbeats fade...a peaceful smile graces his face...
His son was with him in his last moments...
He was surrounded by his divine aura...

He takes the deer's head in his lap...
and strokes him gently...soothing him...trying to lessen his pain...
His vyatha deep...limitless...

He requests the sages
if he could be allowed to perform the last rites...
A son who was fulfilling his father's promises..unquestioningly...
without any complaints...
For Raghukul...for his father's honour ...
for words spoken carelessly...
For he was Maryada Purushottam Ram...

Mano Shruthi thank you for this lovely post.
What an episode!
Though heart-wrenching episode I watched it again and again just for Ashish's expression. He was beyond words.. Madirakshi was also superb. In fact all did their part very well. In my opinion this is the best episode so far. Hats off to the CV's and actors.
