I missed first 5 mins. But from what I watched this was the best dialogue. Dasrath has lived his life fearing putra viyog. Now that fear has manifested. What is the point in hiding. He has to face his worst fear.many times truth is hidden fearing unfavourable results. But when we hide one truth to hide that lie we have to tell more lies .in the end we end up in a web of lies.and truth it has an uncanny ability to come out when we least expect it and at that time it creates much bigger havoc.then you will ask isn't right to hide unpleasant truth. Yes you can. If no one is asking you the right question. You don't have to go and blurt out. Sachin tendulkar dad passed away during wc 1996.this man faced it and then came and played for his country. Did he falter.that is a classic example of facing truth and surviving it to play for the team. That is why vashist said make dasrath face truth. He is the king. He has to face and survive it.But unfortunately dasrath succumbs.

Well at some point truth will be standing right in front of us. And we have no choice but accept and face the consequence.

Yes Shruthi ,today was the day when Dashrath had to acknowledge the truth however harsh and accept it with fortitude. Sometimes I wonder ,would he accepted it if he had not known about the curse? There is always a better way to accept the glimpse to your future...For Dashrath it turned into fear and this weakened him; on the other hand when King Praikshit got to know about his impending death in a few days,He did build a fortress to protect himself ,but surrounded himself with the saints to enlighten his mind.He spent his days listening to 'bhagvatam' or the glory of God.The curse did come true for both of them, but the way they faced it was different.
In Dashrath's case even the presence of his Guru could not free him from his weakness while Parikshit was freed from his fears about his own demise.
Truth is the same but how you receive it and accept it ,makes a huge difference. Here is where Your 'Free will' comes to the fore Shruthi.

Yes jayashree.if we accept the truth it is easy to deal with. And savitha you bought nice example of parikshit.Yes he did what he could. But was prepared for other option also. Yes freewill. But it is the toughest thing to use in such circumstances.I am still mastering it only.

That's why we say "face your fear"! Facing it, and working towards overcoming it is what will eventually bring you success. Dedication and commitment to your duty and Dharma is very important. Urmila's worst fear became true for 14 years for her. Yet, she didn't give up. Instead, she braved the storm, and bloomed competely, doing the duty of LakshMila.
This reminds me of the long conversation on Krishna and how he has made each of us face our fear 😆
It also shows that it is very rare for me to not bring him in my posts 😛

Shrutha it is impossible not to bring Krishna in posts. Especially when we deal with practical wisdom. Yes he makes you face your worst fear and brings you through it also. When you turn back you will feel how did I survive, but then the fact remains that you survived.

@Shruthi: Nicely written. Its quite impossible to hide the truth to Dhasarath as he will ask about Ram only.
More than hiding the truth, accepting the truth and expressing the same will avoid many problems. If Kunti had accepted Karn as her son atleast to pandavas before dice game, the great war could have been stopped .

Exactly Ramya. You bought the perfect example. In the end Kunti had to accept Karna as her son. The son which she has let go, she had to finally go to him for the lives of her other 4 sons. And the son whom she had discarded fearing society's wrath became the lynchpin in the whole kuru war and to take power from his hands 2 of her grandsons had to be sacrificed. And not only kunti a lot of other families paid the price of Kunti hiding that truth.
