Attubaby there were many who said it was ok to alter the story for modern viewers.
But see what happens when they take liberties.
Some young viewers are getting to learn or rather see ramayan for the first time.
So what do they get from mandodari??
Just think.
What opinion about the great king of ayodhya??
Insecure? Scared of some distant future happening,?

Jaya I am still tryin to understand why Raavan is on a conquering spree now instead of when he got the boon.
Expect the immortality part, he would still have won over the three worlds..

The need to feel powerful.
Greed
Want
Ego
Stupidity
Fear
Misuse of his immense knowledge
Last but not the least teaching us what all the above can do to a person.
Destruction of self.

Like all humans. Aren't we faced with such situations.
Not an easy task.
Easy to say I will go with the right.
The penance was not shown in skr.
They should . But then what will brahma give to Ravan.
Hmm

I agree he had to make a tough choice and I admire him for that. How many of us have guts to go against our family to do what is right ?
However the Hindi saying which I mentioned in the post finds its origin exactly from him. The thought popped in my head recently that even after choosing the right path he went down in history as a person who brought downfall of Lanka.

wat is boggling my mind is makers should not have made such huge blunder...some fictional part is acceptable, as after all, it is televised. But how can facts be altered and as huge as the boon given to Raavan😲

if they have shown mandodari bringin amrit kalash, there must b some source that they referred. How cud they show it just like dat😕

I thought you already know that Mandodari had no role in whole thing as showed in SKR.
I doubt they have any source else they would have showed their source like they did in earlier episode when Ram and Sita were in guru Vashisht's ashram.

@sumedha earlier I did not know and I still believed dat if makers r showing something as imp as related to ravan immotality, they must hv definitely resrchd as ramayan has been told, retold, written and rewritten since ages...but I think dis is pure fictional as I came thru sm informative posts here on d forum (too bad SKR rsrch team)...

Watever it is, I found SKR's mandodari actions regardin Amrit kalash as a selfish act...

Vibishan despite being born as ravan brother took a bold decsn and stood against evil to stand for the right..every actions comes with an opportunity cost...and vibishan paid d cost by gettin d tagline of ghar ka bhedi..

@sumedha I agree with jayashree.he had a tough choice.but want to add one more thing. Mythology characters are grey. We need to understand intend before we raise opinion. What will we tell about tara and angad balis wife and son who sided with ram.ram killed Bali.angad was commander in chief of rams army.how did he side with his father's killer.so dharma in those days was nature's law, not tradition set by man which has only black and white and which protects criminals in name of family
