I always make post when I see something related to real mithila and it's tradition in this serial. earlier I symbolic representation of mithila culture in the serial then about vidhikari. now I am again here to share something which is still followed in mithilanchal region in marriages. in yesterday's episode they showed how rani Sunaina and chandrabhaga welcome all grooms by taking Aarti then moving stone grinder called silbatta in this region across their face and then touching betel called Pan in hindi which is quite auspicious in mithila culture. here they put betel leave on diya and then touch both cheek of the groom and that betel is not even warm they just touch from diya this is done to ward off evil eye. this is a tradition still followed over here this ritual is called Parichhan done by mother in law. Then in today's episode they showed keeping five things namely money, turmeric, rice or akshat, and grass or durba in the aanchal of sita and then tying it. I have seen this being followed in mithilanchal but never knew the meaning.during their marriage offcourse this ritual is done but even after that throughout her life ideally whenever a girl go to her in law house from her mother's place her mother always give these things in her aanchal.. Thank you cvz for telling the meaning and significance of this tradition. sorry guys if I bore you with all these details but whenever I notice something which is in real followed till today I can't stop myself. I hope you guyz understand
