Ancient Mithila is modern day Janakpur in Nepal. Actually it is still known as Mithila Pradesh, language spoken locally is Maithili. There's a huge temple right where Sita was "born". It's called Janaki Mandir. Every year on the very date of Vivah Panchami, Ram and Sita's wedding anniversary, "baraat " comes from Ayodhya to Janakpur and they perform every ritual of swayamber and wedding. Just wanted to share few bits 😊
