Very interesting post like always, Shruthi..

Liked the episode and the emphasis on the contrast in lifestyles...in today's world, one cannot stress enough on the importance of being close to nature and the environment around us...rather than attempt to conquer it in a desire to acquire and control..!

So many important lessons to be derived from the epic!

Amazingly apt post shruti!!
I am a regular but silent reader. Have been following all ur posts. I must say each and every post reflects the depth of thoughts.
Each person posting here brings in a different perspective of the values being shown in show.

So basically, ramayan not only from Sita perspective but ours as well 👏

Again an apt and englighting post
i just love mithilas culture ..mithila is modernised in all the way...in true sense meaning...born and hold thier roots with...an open and free aproach and i just love janak i would like to thank to SKR

for introducing us with an trully inspiring and an perfect father every girls carve for...Rajrioshi Janak👏Bang on SKR..bang on skrrr...we have never heard or even no about mithila and sitas parents never ever

we till noe only known sita as ramas wife..queen of ayodhya...bur SKR had naile it with giving us Sita as an independent indivudial as SITA and offcousr the wonder parents of the wonder lady...and the wonder Nagri MITHILA...

Ayodhya is rule sticken and harldly attached to thier roots...so the contrast between two...is beautifully depicted..

and i would like to say Tradition is always mistaken with rules...tradition is to follow something which is going on..but to have an proper outlook to it

but when ur forced to follow rules which are almost not applicable in the name of tradition or pratha is just so ...baseless...

IT not god or our ancestor who make rules...its the society who make it and condem...the people to follow or worship under the mask of pratha and i just hate it to the core!!🤢

I hope you are talking about SKR's Ayodhya and not the epic Ramayana's Ayodhya, because Ayodhya in the epic was a divine and blessed land in which everyone was happy and at peace with each other, where the Kings of the Raghukul served their people as their servants, and where the servants had total free will to do whatever they wanted.

I agree. SKR's Ayodhya is definitely materialistic and rigid, but the epic Ayodhya was every bit as noble and sacred as Mithila.

In order to show Mithila as great, SKR is destroying Ayodhya's greatness and that is wrong in every way. As long as people understand that SKR's Ayodhya was in no way similar to the epic's Ayodhya, that's what's important.

Watch this show for entertainment, not to learn how things actually were back then.

It's also important to remember that if Sita grew into such a wonderful woman due to her parents' upbringing and the serene atmosphere of Mithila, then Ram also grew into such a wonderful man due to his parents' wisdom and loving guidance.

Ayodhya and Mithila were the only superior kingdoms of Aryavrat in their time. That is why Ram and Sita were destined for each other. Ram could not marry a princess of any other kingdom, as only Mithila could produce such lovely, accomplished and virtuous women, and Sita could not marry a prince of any other kingdom, as only Ayodhya could produce such honorable and humble men.

If Mithila was a sacred land, so was Ayodhya. Neither of them was greater than the other. After all, Lakshmi Narayan chose these two kingdoms from all of Aryavrat to be born in. They chose such great royal families to be their parents.

Had Ayodhya truly been such a rigid place that did not disrespect women, Lord Narayan would not have taken birth there.

Sita enjoyed every joy in Ayodhya after marriage. The epic narrates how she was respected and loved by the family and all the praja. The Raghuvanshis were known for serving the praja and being at one with their roots.

Another very beautiful post Shruti di
Ayodhya is more rigid, the rules and regulations are given more importance than anything else..
Mithila on the other hand is more close to nature..
I liked the contrast they made between Janak and Dashrat by saying Janak is a rajrishi and has no moh and Maya but Dashrat is a suryapratapi raghuvanshi and aishwarya will follow him...

But one thing which i liked was that inspite of staying amidst all wealth and comfort, king Dashrat acknowledged the beauty in the simplicity of Mithila ...
This is what makes Ayodhya different from Lanka, which may be as wealthy as Ayodhya but unlike Dashrat, Malyavan and Ravan chose to flaunt their status and insult Janak...And this is what makes Dashrat as great as Janak , though rituals may differ in both kingdoms , but the heart is same ..

Thanks everyone for their comments. Aditi you bought a valid point on Ayodhya different from Lanka. Yes Dasrath very much appreciated Mithila. So we need to know that though the royal family of Ayodhya knew the roots, the way the rules and other practices were followed gave the subjects a wrong interpretation of the law. So we need to know, it is not enough we know the law, when we are in power we need to ensure others know it also.
There was another scene in SKR where Ram hugs the dhobi, while the dasi Manthara treats him badly calling him a dhobi. Ram's greatness was the values of the Raghukul he bought to the whole society. The Ramarajya plugged all the inadequacies of the previous empire. He didn't even the suppress his emotions. By keeping the golden idol of Sita for Aswamedha he showed his pain to the society that of a man separated by his wife, a proof that he has no doubt on her purity, he still loves and respects her a lot and she cannot be replaced by anyone let whatever be the reason.
Narayan and Lakshmi took avatar in 2 great cultures. Cultures which had good, but had its share of inadequacies. When they came together they took the best and discarded the inadequacies thus creating a new world, new maryada and a new path for the world to follow.
I don't analyze SKR to understand past. I analyze SKR to see if it has something which is relevant to present day and can be applied for a better future and I put my POV in the forum
Whether to watch SKR for entertainment or for analysis is an individual choice and I would prefer it to be kept like that.

Aptly put Shruthi
If we see Mithila and Ayodhya as metaphors...then Mithila with its emphasis on knowledge, its respect for women, its reverence of nature, and not the least, its simplicity, should be the state of the world we have to aspire for, both as individuals and as a society. In the same vein Ayodhya represents the world as it is today, a medley of, ostentatious but not excess of superiority complex, arrogant but not opinionated, rigid but not unbending, a more or less blend of good and bad though not in equal proportions. In a nutshell Mithila is our hope for our future while Ayodhya is our present. Love ,happiness, contentment is there in both but the degree of manifestation of these differ.
Today Everyone in Mithila get introduced to the differences between the two cultures. Sita with her calm demeanor diffuses her mother's worries and misgivings beautifully. Ram and Lakshman's meeting with Dashrath struck the right emotional chord. The three stooges behaved as expected.I have the feeling that Ram would change the rules by bringing his mothers to Mithila...as they have not brought Bharat and Shatrugun there yet.

Phenomenal shruthi 👏 ⭐️ aap aj cha gayi... ❤️ lo aap 😳
Not a single word I disagree with... But I want to add one more point 😆. Am sorry if its repeated as I didn't read the next replies as am typing from my phone...
Sand, gold what a clever contrast...👏 both have the same colour, nahi? Watch the sand dunes under strong sun rays from a distance and an illusion of gold is perceived...

Whatta post yaar... 👏 u clearly demarcated of real and reel... Don't we play roles in our daily lives? The truth is something and we show up something.

A person or a human or any mortal is constituted of 'panchtatva'... What happens at the end of a life?

'Jis mitti ke hai bane hum
Milna phir Usi dhool main hai'

The panchtatva- water,fire,air,earth,space...

We are constituted of that earth and we end up in the same, but throughout our life we run behind the fake... 😉

Toh batao kya important hai? Mithila ki maati ya ayodhya ka swarna?

Changing rules of ashwamedha itself proved that Rama is here for a bigger and a better reason...

The never ending curiosity of sita... Will she go to dashratha even if its against the tradition of ayodhya? Will she insist on the participation of ayodhya queens in the wedding? Will she be the instigating force for dashratha to think the other way?

The possibilities are endless... But I would be happy if sita tries to change the mentality... She can win over the hearts of the
queens easily.. As they were too disappointed as dashratha told of their tradition... Again, how so ever distorted ppl may find it but again I would insist the people to watch the show for how it can change the current scenario of our society...

And yes dashratha appreciated mithila's beauty, the art... Won't he appreciate sita, even if she puts up an opinion? I don't know but the precap made me think that she might do smthn regarding the traditions... Its a mere guess.. Also the way choti ma warned her of not asking questions made me think even If she doesnt meet dashratha now, she will make it a point to deliver her set of questions till him... 😆
