OS on the morning after swayamvar
Sita was sitting near a lake in Mithila. The early morning rays of the sun were falling on her face, adding to her beauty. Absent mindedly she was caressing a rabbit that was sitting on her lap while few rabbits were playing around her. She couldn't help thinking about Ram, she recalled how only few days ago in Guru Vishwamitra's ashram she was desperately trying to meet him. How she climbed all the way uphill to just meet him once, to meet a person who she thought was so similar to her, sensitive and full of love. She recalled how she left the ashram halfheartedly wishing she could meet him. At that time little did she know that they'll meet soon for once and all. She smiled recalling their conversation the other morning on the hilltop.
"Iss muskaan ka karan jaan sakta hun ?" Ram's voice brought Sita out of her reverie.
"Jee ?" she asked as she didn't hear what exactly he said.
"Aapki manmohak muskaan ka karan jaane ki iccha thi," he said as he sat beside Sita.
She blushed at his compliment, "Jee.. vo.."
"Bataiye," he said looking at her adoringly.
"Wo jab mujhay gyaat hua tha ki aap ne uss ashva ki bali roki thi tab..," she slightly smiled "tab aapse milne ki badi prabal iccha hui thi. Prayaas bhi kia tha per aapse bhet hui nhi. Uss samay socha bhi nahi tha ki..."
"Ki meri aap se bhet aati sheeghra hogi aur uss bhet ke baad hum sadaev ke liye mil jayenge," Ram completed her sentence as he recalled how he ran all the way from the hill to meet her. Sita looked at him curiously and he continued his sentence, "main bhi aapse milna chahta tha per jab tak mai ashram pahucha aap waha se prasthaan ker chuki thi." They both looked deep into each other's eyes realizing not for the first time how similar they were. Enjoying each other's presence they sat there in silence, words have little use when their eyes spoke volumes. Today's morning brought a new chapter of love and companionship in both their lives.
