Tune Maari entry yaar dil mein bhaji ganti yaar tan tan tan 😆😆😆. What an entry for Raavan. An entry that suits a villian. That pride, that power, that mercilessness and that screen presence yes Ravan owned the day for me. To see and appreciate hero we need villian. The greater the deed of hero, the greater has to be evil. That is why Ram and Raavan has to be matched. In aura, in power so that they can stand side by side.
Ok jokes apart let me come to the topic of the day. The attitude of Ravan is very well came out in the first instance itself. If he likes something he owns it. Whether the object or the person likes it, it doesnt matter. If they do it with free will good for them. Else he will snatch it.
I have heard some politicianor was it some swami telling during Nirbhaya case that if the girl had pleaded with the rapists they would not have raped her. She should have called them brother's. Representative of a sick society who places the blame of rape on woman should have seen today's scene.
Doesnt Rambha plead. Doesnt she say she is betrothed to another man. Doesnt she request " n" number of times in the name of humanity to leave her. Does the man listen. He drags her and forces himself upon her for his pleasure. She was helpless and he makes use of her helplessness. That infinite power he possess he uses it upon an innocent woman to harm her, to rape her.

Power absolute power to own beautiful things he want has taken the conscience out of Ravan and men who do rape are power mongers. Showing the physical superiority over woman without realizing they dont gain anything by physically overpowering a woman.

And Ravan gets it. From a man who was unable to protect his fiancee from the misfortune that fell on her puts a curse on him that gives another man a chance to fight him and protect his chaste wife.

From the pain of Nalkuber and Rambha comes the defense for Ram and Sita. That curse binds Ravan from not imposing himself on Sita. Because if Ravan had attempted that Sita would have died, leaving Ram devastated even in victory.

Niyati comes back to Ravan who had mercilessly pained two loving souls and got away, second time he attempts the same it causes his downfall.

Man always has to remember that absolute power can be used only once. Make wise choice of how to use it. Because the second time you attempt the same use , result can be different.

Well written shruthi.
From the pain of Nalkuber and Rambha comes the defense for Ram and Sita. That curse binds Ravan from not imposing himself on Sita. Because if Ravan had attempted that Sita would have died, leaving Ram devastated even in victory.
Spot on.

Well written di , this is what i was discussing with my teacher as she told me that virginity of a women at that te was her strength , a man took pride if he was able to break it it showed his power , his strength and this has gone in the blood till now .

Well said Shruthi.Raavan's entry was truly dramatic. In the time given the director has very well brought out his characteristics-arrogance ,ruthlessness, power, etc.
While we were blown away by the entry of the villain ,it was the exchange between Ram and Sita that held a lot of depth to the present day relevance. It was Sitas line "being together and yet being free".
It holds a lot of significance on how relationships should be.Respect for each other and giving space to each other as well. After all these are the two most important ingredients to make a relationship work.

@charvi the whole business of virginity is sickening for me to say the least, especially the way it is attributed to the hymn and breaking it on wedding night some kind of achievement.
Frankly we need to come out of it. We have to see the union of man and woman as something more soulful, more emotional expressed physically.
Brahmacharya is strength for both man and woman, but so is the love between the couple post marriage.
Physical union is a natural thing we need to feel united, to reproduce and also for the health and well being. Studies have proved that a satisfactory physical relation does play and important role in your overall health.
But for that we have to move away from virginity business and look marriage at an emotional level.

I am not advocating loose morals or multiple partners here, but love and marriage given more emotional connect than the just virginity aspect.

@swatsu yes that line by Sita was thought provoking too. But since in many of my posts I have mentioned about respect needed between partners I took this one today.

@shruthi di
Exactly marriage is something more .
If we go through the scriptures this was known as uniting of the soul , a symbol of love , something pure and the result was novle indeed .
I don't how this concept was injected guessing it to be the work of patriarchal nature of society .
Moreover what I feel is a marriage is more than a physical union , its a soul union , interconnection of soul , as well illustrated by mata parvati and shivji

Completely agree with you
Acting wise the entry of ravan is just like what a merciless is supposed to be
And about nirbhaya accident when somebody is merciless he cannot hear anyone ...
