Yes, true. As usual it was poor Jyoti who suffered and lost her life.If you are powerful doesn't mean you force yourself on others and doesn't even mean you own everyone and everything. Ravan misused his powers.

@muktha there is reference in multiple places that when Ram was not coming and Ravan was instigating her, Sita did decide on suicide. Because she was feeling whether her husband will forgo his duty. There are desperate moments of Sita written. Even Hanuman sees her in one of those extreme despair moods when he comes to Lanka.
@fiery I remember you from EHT forum, one among the balance reviewers in that forum. That forum had very less balanced reviewers. It was always extreme. Welcome here dear and nice to share views once again.

@shruthi - I agree. EHT forum has seen extremes and the worst part was the way they bashed Dev for practically no reason. I will definitely look forward to reading ur posts here 😊 You are probably one among the very few in IF who are capable of rational thinking that is not restricted to crazy fandoms. Thats y I love reading your posts 👍🏼

@fiery till date I had not understood why Dev was bashed. That character had its own share of flaws like every character of EHT, but I had liked him even with those flaws. It was not at all a redundant character as many made it out to be, it was a much needed character for the story. I don't know why people never understood his love for her was the biggest defense she got in that battle. That selfless love which was willing to let go of Nithya and marry another woman for Nithya's mission( For all practical purpose at the time of marriage Dev didn't knew Durga was Nithya) hiding it even from his mother. A man who didn't claim his rights as a husband even after he knew who she is and waited for her to give him the rights.
Many a times when a woman does sacrifice it is proclaimed, but when a man does the same why it is neglected. Is a man's pain less than that of woman. Does his emotions carry no weight. Cant a second chance be given to him.
Many a times when I had discussed topics in the forum I had felt this irony. And Dev's case is classic one of this bias.

So true and I couldn understand y the male lead has to be a masochistic chauvinist 😵 Many of them happily embrace a hero who abuses the female lead to no end and later by a stroke of magic repents for his mistakes. Dev was a simpleton and he wasn a complicated character like Durga, Sakshi or Shaurya. All he knew and all that mattered to him was his mom and the girl he had loved with all his heart. Y discredit him for that? 😕 The problem is with the mindset of people here, nothing else 😵

That pride, that power, that mercilessness and that screen presence yes Ravan owned the day for me. To see and appreciate hero we need villian. The greater the deed of hero, the greater has to be evil. That is why Ram and Raavan has to be matched. In aura, in power so that they can stand side by side.

Ok jokes apart let me come to the topic of the day. The attitude of Ravan is very well came out in the first instance itself. If he likes something he owns it. Whether the object or the person likes it, it doesnt matter. If they do it with free will good for them. Else he will snatch it.
I have heard some politicianor was it some swami telling during Nirbhaya case that if the girl had pleaded with the rapists they would not have raped her. She should have called them brother's. Representative of a sick society who places the blame of rape on woman should have seen today's scene.
Doesnt Rambha plead. Doesnt she say she is betrothed to another man. Doesnt she request " n" number of times in the name of humanity to leave her. Does the man listen. He drags her and forces himself upon her for his pleasure. She was helpless and he makes use of her helplessness. That infinite power he possess he uses it upon an innocent woman to harm her, to rape her.

Power absolute power to own beautiful things he want has taken the conscience out of Ravan and men who do rape are power mongers. Showing the physical superiority over woman without realizing they dont gain anything by physically overpowering a woman.

And Ravan gets it. From a man who was unable to protect his fiancee from the misfortune that fell on her puts a curse on him that gives another man a chance to fight him and protect his chaste wife.

From the pain of Nalkuber and Rambha comes the defense for Ram and Sita. That curse binds Ravan from not imposing himself on Sita. Because if Ravan had attempted that Sita would have died, leaving Ram devastated even in victory.

Niyati comes back to Ravan who had mercilessly pained two loving souls and got away, second time he attempts the same it causes his downfall.

Man always has to remember that absolute power can be used only once. Make wise choice of how to use it. Because the second time you attempt the same use , result can be different.
