This forum uses Perspective word much but it's better to understand that word clearly. Perspective means how you view a incident/scenario.it doesn't mean to change that incident the way you want. this show not following Ramayana properly, then why should one note this show as different perspective of Ramayana.

Also, there is a difference between interpretation and completely changing the story. An interpretation is when we view the emotions and thoughts of a character differently, which is acceptable to an extent, but it's not possible to interpret something to such an extent that the entire story is changed. That's not interpretation. That's a distortion.

I totally do not agree with the concept that with changing times, we need to change our epics. Will Christians change their bible to suit changing times? Will Muslims change the Quran to suit changing times? So why do we Hindus have to change our epics, which are an integral part of our scriptures, to "suit changing times"? Ramayan itself is a storehouse of virtue. People can learn a lot from it even today, just the way it is. It doesn't need to be changed.

That being said, the Ramayan and epics like it shouldn't even be touched in the film or television industry because if they are such "distortions" will be prevalent. Christians read the Bible to learn about its virtues, Muslims the Quran, and Sikhs the Guru Granth Sahib. No one bases religion and belief on shows, but the actual writings of these Holy Books. We should understand our beliefs and not support the making of these shows at all if we have a problem. Being a Sikh, before complaining about distortions in the show about the Gurbani, I would protest about the actual making of the show.

Honestly No. In Ramayana , many characters given very tough competition to Ram in Virtue. But here Ram is better than worst.

I watched devlok on epic. First they showed a story dat even if a woman imagines for a par purush even if he has taken form of her husband. Her pativrata shakti is lost. Den dey showed a story of Raavan taking form of Ram ji and mata jis hugging him thinking him he is Ram. And ravan getting enlighment that ram is good and he felt lajjit when mata ji embraced. And dev dutt is asked abt dis saying dat its form Gujarati folk story. And saying transformation is inner and not cosmetic. We can show anything. Anything even it is against basic story n spirit. N characters.

I didn't read scriptures of valmiki ramayan but I know the basic essence of ramayan read from various books.. Regarding discussion on too much modernity , yes I agree after watching the last episode precap wherein Ram running to see a glimpse of sita just like today love struck teenage boy. whatever I read or heard about ramayan definitely Ram character is not like that. Emotionally resilient person he is and the portrayal shown here is somewhat displeasing.

I wanted to keep forward my view
Both of the sides are very true in their views
This reminds me of Js mills theory
Which says nothing is completely false and has an element of truth and through the discussion and debate the truth gets out .
Even Ramayana has been shaped over a while .
It is said that the dhanush thing was not in the original version , it started around 500 years ago .
Again that's my percpective and I duly respect others
It is true that they should not show anything they wish to like the dashrath vachan .
But then on the other hand these epics have more in store than just the story , apart from it they hold in them those values which need be interpreted by us all.
If we talk about gita there are so many versions of it but its true message is always the same
I love this forum , I get so much information.
The truth is that we all are here discussing debating and discussing isn't that beautiful.
It also has reason

I have been a silent reader in this forum. I am amazed at the depth of knowledge of some writers in this forum. But somehow I found myself unable to watch this version of Ramayan and hence stopped watching after a few episodes. I found it disturbing my mind rather than giving me some peace or sense of divine bliss which we get while reading the original version either of Valmiki or Goswamy Tulsidas. That the idea of our epics which, by the way ,are said to have been revealed to the original authors while in a state of trance can never be duplicated by someone trying to understand and interpret it intellectually to suit their way of thinking is my humble view.

I don't agree with that. There's nothing wrong with making shows or movies on the epics if they're directed by the right people with the right intentions. It's not hard to make a show that sticks to the epic. It's been done before, and it broke all records in India which no other show has been able to match. It proves that when a mythological show is made with selfless intentions, without giving in to popular appeal and wanting to attract modern audiences, it really touches people's hearts in a way a modernized show never can.

Even Christians have many shows and movies based on the stories in the bible, and most of them are pretty damn accurate. Even with creative license, they show the stories well. I've gone to a Catcholic school since I was really young, so I know the bible front and back. When I watched these movies based on the bible, I was impressed with how accurately they were taken. No one showed fiction in the name of "different interpretations", and some of these movies became really popular. Our Indian directors can really learn a few tips from these American directors on how to be religiously sensitive, and show proper entertainment at the same time. It's not as hard as people think. They can use the same VFX and graphics on an accurate storyline as they've been using on this inaccurate storyline.
