watching today's episode I felt that maybe Ramayana is significant of the battles inside us
When Vishwamitra was telling Janak about dangerous events happening

It was also referring to the internal demons that were devouring kekeyis mind

Which unless stopped by a parakrami, will bring bad times

What I found the most powerful message of the day, was the conversation between

Vashihstha and Dashratha, where guru's one line : memories are not respected by erecting tall

statues, but by emulating the actions of our great ancestors - was so true.

And when he tried to explain to Dashratha to not hold on to Rama, for Rama was destined for much

bigger things,

Of course also profound was his statement that there is difference between Dashratha coming to meet

Rama out of his insecurity, vis a vis guru vishwamitras desire to meet Rama out of his love for Rama

The divine roop of Rama and Sita was established today

Kekeyi has shut out her dil ki awaz, in the shor of her Krodh

Dashratha has violated his family code of conduct of vachan purti,

Due to his excessive love for Rama

We need to recognise the demons of our minds and slay them first

Before we shut our loved ones out, or send them far away from us.

Loved seeing manish wadhwa ji in the show

He is awesome

Lovely observation -

Internal demons as well as External ones.

And the Parakrami Rama is needed to conquer both...one set with unconditional love and the other with unmatched strength and valour.

@Arshics: Nicely pointed out the demons in our mind. Only saints/rishis recognised the Ram and Sita as god and goddess but the one who understood Ram was an ordinary human Sumitra. How and why she was able to know the truth? Is it due to her devotion towards siva? Did she had any extra quality which made her understand the truth? If CVs shows the reason that could be perfect.

Hi Arshi, i was waiting for your post to say How handsome is our Brahmarishi Vishmitra!. Really like Manishji and looking forward to seeing him more here. I'm sure he will be great.

We see the Rishis recognizing who Rama & Sita really are. So did Sumitra. As @Ramyaaxmi i too wondered why only she could see the divine form of Rama. Could be because she is a very balanced human being, plain and simple, very devoted to God.

On one side we had Vishwamitra talking about Ram being the savior of people from the external demons and on the other we had Vashisht talking about the internal demons. Nice touch there was Rama sensing the unease of Kaikeyi and trying to calm her heart, but alas Kaikeyi's ego would not let her accept it. Her inner demons getting more power with external help (Mantara).

Great words from Vashisht. Don't make promises if you do not have the courage to fulfill it. Great men are remembered by their great deeds and to keep up that and emulate them needs a lot of discipline and courage. We are all not born with the same character traits and to remember the deeds and emulate our ancestors means recognizing our shortcomings and changing ourself. Otherwise we will be like Dasaratha who made a promise but doesn't want to fulfill it.

Not sure why Vashisht tells Dasarath that Rama is born for bigger things and to not hold onto him. Yet he scolded him for making a promise and not fulfilling it. Was he trying to prepare him for what is coming?

the battle of head versus heart was so beautifully depicted here, and how our anger and ego cloud our judgement!

She loves Rama, she hears his call, she wants to let him in, but all that love has been silenced by a few harsh words of her husband ... Can there be anything more tragic ? He who till today provides solace and comfort to millions, was right outside her door, pleading to be let in, to help her, ... And she refused !!!!

That is the central message of the entire story of Rama - love and acceptance - be it his choice to go to vanvas, udhdhar of Ahilya, shabari ke ber... His biggest strength was his ability to love ..

Yes, indeed acting is fabulous, everyone, be it Dashratha, Janak, Sumitra, kekeyi, and esp Rama and Sita - the actors playing them are doing a great job! Even Bharat was impressive in the brief flashes that we saw of him.

Ram kekeyi scene and the Vashihstha Dashratha scene were both superb, one for its emotional content and the other for its wisdom!

Yes, very very interesting question indeed ! Why did only Sumitra recognise Rama ?

His father who loves him too much, his birth mother Kaushalya, his kekeyi ma who professes to love him more than her own son - they all did not see the divya roopa, but she did!

I feel your second point is the reason - her special quality - she is the only one who has a pure heart and clear vision - who loves unconditionally and has no other motive, nor does she carry any emotional burdens, these have given her the drishti to see the divine form
