Dhruv is in his room, he is standing near the window, is in tears as Ved enters the room. She does not see Dhruv face to face, she he is turning the other side. She asks Dhruv to come and take his medicines. She tells him that he will go more weak if he exerts himself by standing for long. As she says all this, Dhruv is now weeping very badly. He is cryin like a kid. Ved understands that something is wrong. She comes near him. She holds his shoulder. Dhruv cries more, says that he has lost. Dhruv weeps bitterly, says that he is a son, but just could not fulfill the responsibilities of a son. He says that he is a husband, but just could not keep her wife happy. He is a father, but cannot afford to give happiness to his little kid. Dhruv emotes beautifully here... Ved is in tears, she holds him, turns him to her side. She says that he cannot accept defeat. She says that they have not lost anything. She syas that they have their love to support . Their hands are tied down, bcos of the bad time they are facing. But they need to face it boldly. Dhruv cries , says that today, his wife has to support them by working. He cries again. Ved says that there is no harm in her working. She says that both the husband and wife are like 2 wheels of a vehicle. Both need to move and be together, to have a nice ride. Dhurv is in tears, cannot be convinced at all. Ved says that she has not forgotten those days when Dhruv used to give her all the luxury, all the comfort, he took care of her so well. He gave her all the wealth, jewels, she used to dress up so elegantly just for him. If time had not betrayed them, then Dhruv would have seen to it that Ved always walked over a carpet made of flowers. Ved say that we have lost everything today. But, i consider myself wealthy even today. If i see myself, if i see you, our love, our kid, our family which stands united even in this sorrow, i feel that i am the wealthiest woman around. Ved cries. Dhruv is in tears, but looks a bit relaxed. Ved says that she has had a talk with God, God has promised that he will get Dhruv a good and deserving job very soon. So she tells Ved that he will get a job in a few days time. Dhruv gets a smile on his face. He then cries. He has mixed emotions now. Ved tells him that he now needs to smile. Ved says that the testing times always make us cry. But if we cry, it means that the sorrow wins over their happiness and they have accepted defeat. She says that if we keep smiling even when we face the tough times, it means that we will never accept defeat and know to progress even under pressure. She asks Dhruv not to lose his smile. Dhruv gives a faint smile, says that she covers up her sorrow in her smile very easily. Ved then tells Dhruv that he needs to take care of his health, get weel soon, so that he can go and search for a job. Dhruv nods his head, he smiles. Kajal is in her room with her baby. Ant comes home, a dejected man. Kajal gets up, goes to him. She asks him whether he got a job. Ant says no. Kajal then hesitantly says that she needs to buy tonic for Gudiya. Ant scerams, throws his file down. He asks what can i do? He screams vents out to Kajal, says that he goes daily to search for a job. But he never gets one. He has now started begging and pleading for a job, btu with no succeess. Ant cries. He sasy that he is incapable of keeping his family, wife and kid happy. Titli is standing near the door listening to this. Ant screams that he is crippled, he says that her husband is incapable of donig anything. Kajal asks him not to say this. Ant says that he has never felt so miserable and devastated in life before. He says that he is shattered from within, he is tired. He says that he tries to meet his goal, but never succeeds. He cries, says that he is completely useless. He says that he cannot be of any help. Titli comes in, tells Ant not to bog down like this. She says that he needs to hold on to courage. She says that he needs to learn from Ved who has gulped the sorrow within, tries to smile and give strength and hope to all around. She says that Ved is now supporting the family by working in a boutique. She says that if courage is lost, then life is lost. She tells Ant to control his anger. She points out that Ant had once told Ved that it is bcos of her sister that they are in this trouble. Ant's face goes pale. Titli says that ed could have answered back. But she did not. She wanted to prove her worth to the family, she is doing it today. She is the one who is holding all together, making us happy and making us feel secure. She says that we always get what we think of. So if Ant always thinks of failures and dejections , he will get only that. So he now needs to think about success, only then success will come at thier door step. She then kisses him on his forehead. she tells him that he should not make them cry from now on. Ant says yes. Ant looks more relaxed now. He has a smile on his face.
Cars come and stop before the chawl. few men get down, say that they need to get out of this chawl. Ved also comes therre. All argue that they have been living here for long. They cannot be asked to go like this. A person, Bhandari, who works for Ayush says that they have to vacate the chawl in 24 hours as this chawl has been sold to another party. All are shocked. Ved asks how can we go out of here? Where will we all go? This is really unfair, says Ved. She says that we will voice our opinion, see to it that our voices are heard. We will not leave this place, says Ved. She says that we will all stand united, stand like a wall. We will see to it that nobody gets to enter our house and throw us out. She then tells that she will now put her hand forward, all will join her and voice their opinion, protest against this decision. She puts her hand forward, expecting others to join her and hold her forming a chain. All look at Ved. Firdaus says that she is ready. Savitha says that it is not good to fight with these rich people. Ved says that we need to voice our opinion, otherwise, we will be crushed. It will be our weakness, says Ved. She says that we are like the birds who are all caught in a web. We cannot tear the web and fly, but we can all attempt to fly together along with the web, so that we atleast are alive.
The lawyer who has come there says that the chawl has been sold, so they have no right to stay here. He shows the papers. Ved walks near him. She says in firm words that she will not accept these papers. She says that he needs to go back to Ayush, say that they are not ready to leave the chawl. She says that few of them have been living here for more than 20 years, how can you send them out in 24 hours? We are all humans, we have a right to live. She says that they need to go and tell Ayush that they all protest and will not leave this place.She says that they will all die, but not go from here. She says that Ayush might have built 101 mandirs, but he does not know that helping people in need is the biggest gesture one can make. How can he throw all of us out? Ther are 101 families living here, so this is a temple for all of us. We will not go from here. Saying this, Ved again puts forward her hand, asking all to join her. Firdaus comes and holds her hand on one side. Madhuri holds her hand on another side. Slowly the chain gets longer, with both men and women joining in and forming a huge chain there. Ved stands firm in the centre of the chain.
A car comes. Ayush gets down from the car. He sees the protest there. Hewalks towards Ved. He stands befoer Ved. Ved and Ayush see each other face to face. Ved keeps staring at him, without any fear whatsoever.
Tomorrow: Lawyer tells again that the chawl is sold, there is gonig to be a shopping mall which will come up here. So they have only 24 hours to get going. If anyone does not obey to this, then only Ved will be responsible for their fate . Ved continues to stare at Ayush as the lawyer says all this. Ayush now walks towards his car, goes near his car, is about to get in. He again turns back, sees Ved. Ved continues to face him, staring at him very boldly....
