I have this big doubt someone clarify

how do arrange marriage happen ? isnt pic send and brief about girl /boy to either side and then ppl meet and if things fall in place it proceeds

What substance is seen in above scenario ?more than a pretty face and secure financial background majorly ? So why do ppl bash others when someone like/love someone at first instance and then become their support system and eventually it is love
