Colors' popular show Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka faced many a controversy for its bold storyline. In addition, the show grabbed eyeballs when one of its main protagonists, Drashti Dhami, decided to leave it.

Soon after, the makers and channel decided to end the show on the GEC and run it on their digital medium Voot.

The reason for Drashti suddenly leaving the show was said to be her apprehension on aging and playing a mother on screen.

Although this was the major reason for her to quit, it was not the only one.

TellyChakkar has exclusively learned that Drashti did not wish to play an insecure wife's character.

A source close to the project said, After Kunal and Nandini's marriage, Nandini was supposed to turn into an insecure wife, and Drashti did not want to play that character. To everybody's displeasure, she decided to quit.'

If this was the problem.. they could've easily replaced her.. not like there's a dearth of good artists on indian TV

Many actresses play mother's role these days but still there's always a chance of being typecast.

Kinshuk quit Bidaai for this exact same reason. He didn't want to play a father in his early 20's as he feared that they might introduce another leap & he would have to play a grandpa's role. 😆 😆 😆

Besides, actors get good roles even after years but actresses after a certain time don't get good enough roles unfortunately. Here Kinshuk is still playing a guy in his 30's while Parul Chauhan has become Naira's MIL. 🤢

Being woman other is a matter of pride nowadays or maybe before also.Other woman is always spicy.Women dont feel ashamed of it.Infact it gives them some superior feeling that they charmed a married man to sleep with them.First wife suffering gives them a sense of diva like feeling. This is how other women are.
Thats exactly what silsila was showing.
The other was beuatiful and clothes and jewellery.
Being an insecure woman is a matter of shame.Being a mother to 4 yr old is a matter of shame for some women in real life also.
They simply cant accept their real age.

Why anything wrong with playing a home wrecker or betraying friend? Is there any rule that if you play a cheating friend you have to agree to play mother as well? 😳And let us conveniently believe TC now even after they have constantly been posting fake articles regarding Silsila since day one 😆 Actually she has already played a mother in her previous show and as a character Nandini was already insecure. But yeah Mouli fans and their obsession with DD even after she exit is on another level.😆 Nandini sleeveless pehne toh gunah Mouli pehne toh hawwt..Nandini make up lagaye toh gunah Mauli lagaye toh hawwt..Nandini Rajdeep ke saath rahi toh she was doormat and deserved rape .Mauli still pining for Kunal even after cheating on her.It is "natural" and "understandable". Ah the double standards of this forum 😳😆

No offence to anyone but she's 33, what's wrong in playing a mother?

PS. I know its her choice. I am just asking!

Well i will never understand this.
When i read sridevi had a lip job at 54,i was like🤢 .What msg these stars pass to society.
She was so insecured of her body and face.
She was an alcoholic.
Had ema with mithun ,tied rakhi to boney and then married.Did some 27 surgeries🤢.
Time to time.
She was given state honours at her funeral.🤢
Such low life example.
I had one aunty in my building who was about to die in a months time. She used to feel bad that she is looking bad in that last month...she was 38 that time. She said to me that if she would have been alright she would have competed with all other women in looks.
How obsessed people are.

🤢

Wow look who is preaching 😆 Where was your gyaan when your favourite Vivian Dsena quit MB because he didn't want to play father but was okay playing a rapist and wife beater post leap 😳 Not just women men like your favourite also have a hard time accepting their age na? Also if she didn't want to accept her age why would she have played a college professor or mother in Pardes? Why would she have accepted Nandini and Silsila either because it's a very mature concept in itself. Your comments on DD are always so incredibly sexist that I wonder where the frustration comes from sometimes.

Also weren't you a big shipper of the other woman and married hero in MB? 😆 That time wife and her loyalty meant nothing to you. Now suddenly because DD is playing the other woman loyalty and sacrifice becomes beautiful and other woman becomes terrible is it?

@Alohomora

it's alright to play whatever onscreen. Its a job after all. We don't know what really happen but how everything is placed, it looks weird that DD would choose to play a mistress on screen but not a insecure wife. Then again, Its fully her choice. Even my mum made that observation. She would even ask that same Question even if it wasn't DD playing nandini.

Coming to Mauli loving Kunal despite his cheating. I get it. She looks weak right? But you need to remember, Mauli and Kunal were together for so many years until the rain dance happened. She is still in love with a man who loved her once. Who was her husband for years. If that makes me, as a Mauli fan showing double standards then who cares.

I am not going to support cheating or K&N. They are cheaters.
