Mitron, by now I think we can all agree that SBRK is a never ending shit show. What they are showing is utter crap, there is no other way to describe it.
But what I wonder is why? Why are they white washing KuNan? Like we know Mouli is being butchered for sake of the divine lovers, but why do the makers feel the need to justify an EMA? Is it favoritism (of actors and/or characters) or is it incompetence or is it arrogance?
Is it simply because of incompetent writers? I mean is it really that hard to wrote decent characters and story? We arent demanding some visionary take on relationships, just appropriate actions and reactions from the characters. Are the makers stuck in a time where being pure meant going to temple, love meant giving flowers and gifts, where characters dont makes compromises in life but makes sacrifices in love, where forgiveness automatically means it never happened... Like is that the level of writing we can expect? Which is fine, that is standard Indian show writing tbh, but its not enough to handle topics like EMA, especially they promote the show as realistic.
Or are the makers just that arrogant about their show and idea? Like I generally get this idea when they (IF articles and actors' interviews) try and defend the show by insulting the viewers and blaming them for not understanding how progressive the show's concept is. Like do the makers really believe that what they are doing is good storytelling in any way? Are they so proud to have dared to write a show about EMA that they forgot that conceiving the idea is not enough, they have to execute it delicately as well ? Like they wanted applause just for coming up with something "progressive" (which is again not true, like many have pointed out there are many shows and movies that have dealt with the theme and done justice to it).
And then there is also the aspect that actors might not want to do negative roles; I am not saying it is or it isnt, but even if it is, are the PH and makers so weak in India that they are overruled by an actor? I mean at this point Nandini and Kunal are getting so much hate that if they are run by a bus and the show introduces new leads, the show will still not lose many fans. Also if actors do have influence over makers, wouldnt they want any decent scene or story for themselves? Moreover, why are they not favoring the character that is being loved by the majority?
