You want to talk about Kunal and Mauli, then let's do so. I personally don't want to talk about Kunal because every time I think about the character that the CVs have put before us I feel like yelling at the top of my voice, so let's talk about Mauli.
The CVs have messed up Mauli's character as well. Mauli was shown too perfect at the beginning. She was doing everything. She handled the kitchen. She worked around the house. She had time to romance Kunal. She worked at a clinic and worked overtime often. How did she do everything? My masi is a doctor who runs her own clinic and she barely has time to eat properly. She has a cook and several cleaners. In fact my mosa is also a doctor and the two run the clinic jointly in their specialties. When we visit them, they always need to take them out from their hours just to sit with us for a few minutes to talk, else they usually don't have time. My mosa wanted to come to Toronto once and he had to get 3 doctors to cover his patients just for the 2 weeks he took off. So then how does Mauli do it? And now it seems they are slowly taking Mauli's character towards forgiving Kunal and accepting that theirs is a divine marriage. What happened to the outspoken Mauli? Why doesn't she say that she can't go on like this?
Yeah Mauli is not a superwoman, she doesn't have the capabilities to do it all. And unfortunately, because of this same reason people blamed her for the marriage falling apart because she didn't have time for her husband. Which the argument in and of itself makes sense but adding the EMA aspect to it, essentially blames Mauli for being too perfect of a wife. If you take the above into consideration, Mauli would never have the time to build Kunal a clinic.
Of course, the majority of people are supporting Mauli because she is never shown to have any fault, which makes Nandani look even worse. If Mauli was characterized with shortcomings like in any human, it would have been easier to digest all of this.
Also, I do see some nuances of things Mauli could work on, like being super controlling (Nandani's recovery, Kunal's clinic) and let's not forget that without Kunal's consent she got off birth control. That has a huge implication that no one talks about. If she did have sex with Kunal after that, it would have been non-consensual because Kunal wouldn't know that it may possibly lead to a pregnancy. However, it's pushed under the rug because of what she's going through. What Mauli did isn't taken seriously because OH MY GOD AT LEAST SHE DIDN'T SLEEP WITH HER BEST FRIENDS HUSBAND. Yes, she didn't do something as wrong as another character did, but why can't we at least talk about what she did do wrong. The place where the writers messed up is making Mauli pretty much perfect where no one can say one word against her and on top of that she's the only one that is given sensible dialogues. When she presents her case, it makes sense. Other characters, main characters, barely ever speak when they should be telling everyone how they feel. So obviously I would have to assume or guess since there's nothing else I can do.
