Nandini sat there in the balcony ,which is covered with a neat wooden curtain ,the outside world cant see her sitting there, she dont want them to see her . she was watching 2 girls playing , they were laughing and teasng eachother, they reminded her of someone. someone who gave her life ,and she snatched her life. .'Mauli' .
Her's and Mauli's relation was one of a kind.Mauli was always the intelligent,strong headed girl nd she the amiable,innocent types. Almost every boys of their age had a crush on her, she was the most beautiful girl in the chawl but they afraid to come near her because of Mauli. Mauli protected her from all.
Her mother believed tat every girl must learn all the duties that a wife does, she taught her to do cooking, stitching ,laundry, ironing and even how to keep rooms clean and tidy.She knew to make rangoli, to arrange well for a puja.
All the ladies in the chawl who had daughter used to ask their daughter to be like Nandini and those who hadd son wished to get a girl like her for their son.
She was confident that she would be a perfect wife and weived dreams of perfect family . she never had any ambition unlike Mauli who wants to be a doctor whenevr some one asked her about her ambition she always said a 'WIFE a Mother,home maker ' and she strived for t she really did. she learned everything from her mother with at most sincerty .Then came Rajdeep in her life he had every qualities that a girl would wish for . he was a handsome,well educated,Healthy, Tall,Funny and witty too. She knew many girls drooled on him but he choose her, She was happy, she felt superior and wanted to settle down soon because that was her dream always,she wasnt ineterested in studies, and why to study f she doent wants to work . she knew everything that a wife should know..so when Mauli raised doubts on Rajdeep's character she thought ts because Mauli is jealous of her that she got a nice person and achieved her dream where as she need to work for another 5 to 7 years to reach her dream.In addition Rajdeep instigated her against Mauli, and she choose the former.
But later understood Mauli was right in the first few days of marriage itself. He always finds fault in her.He never took her out saying all his friends are highly educated and modern and he cant introduce her to them as she is not educated well and not classy least she knew that he doesnt want any1 to know he was married which would lessen his female fans .She tried to dress well always, she made herself presentable always.
HE always found fault in her cooking so she did evything vth atmost care because according to her mothers sayings a route to man's heart is through his stomach.
When she questioned him about his relations vth other girls he said t was because she didnt satisfy him in bed so she took every physical abuse without uttering a word even wen she knew she wouldnt be able to stand properly next day. She never complained because for her husband was God nd she worshipped him.
He tortured her in all ways emotionally,physically,verbally , but she didnt retort. She didnt ve any friends she tried to find solace in her mother but she adviced her to be patient and bring Rajdeep in her way by love , to follow evything he says. and to never say anything to any1 as ts a matter betwen husband and wife and that shouldnt be gone outside the 4 walls of her home,so she took evythng silently and followed her husbands command till she saw Mauli .Mauli made her understand such men can never come in right path.Woman is not a worm under men to stamp on .She gave her all strength to fight, but she was still afraid as she didnt knew hw Rajdeep vl react wen she fights, she didnt knew where she would go f he kicks her out, she was afraid of living alone and somewhere she hoped Rajdeep will change himself for the baby.But wen she lost her baby too she lose her hope too. she didnt ve any reason to live evn. tats wen Mauli took her home. she felt like she came in another world. Mauli's home was something tat she ve never seen .
Mauli was loved and respected by evy1 in the home.Kunal loved Mauli the most.Mauli was no where near to the perfect wife concepts.
She wasnt the one who woke up first in the home,she didnt do the Puja daily,she didnt cook food for all, she didnt waited for her husband fr breakfast wen she had to reach hospitals soon. she went out at nights on urgent calls,she skipped family dinners.She dressed casually daily, she didnt wear even sindoor or mangalsutra some days , but yet she was loved and all said she is the light of the house.
She felt sad and happy.Mauli aspired to be doctor and she aspired to be a perfect wife. and years later Mauli became a Doctor as well as a perfect wife where as she is left vth nothing.
She wanted new life and to start vth t she dec ided to get divorce from Rajdeep as first step. then to stand on her legs she took up on cooking classes that is when she found Kunal's attraction towards her, she knew Kunal loves Mauli but she too likes to ve that attraction afterall every girl is proud to ve a beautiful body and face.But wen Kunal proposed her she was astonished a man with a perfect wife is telling her that he fall fr her,she felt ts wrong to ve feelings fr a man who has a wife but somethng in her was happy to see someone likes her. she tried to go away first bt wen he said he cant live without her she felt wanted for the first time.and unknowingly she also felt tat ts because Kunal is neglected by Mauli and she took care f him because she wanted to make that person better who loves her.She had a sense of security wen he was around.He always saved her and she was thankful to him, she cant make the person sad who has saved her at the cost of his life .its not that she is unknown to the fact MAuli loves him but she just wanted to be ignorant and live this moment.she accepted Kunal's proposal. after that she was living a life that she dreamed once.Kunal took care of her in all the possible ways.After Rajdeeps attack he made her feel better there wasnt a place where he hadnt kissed he took care of her as if she was a delicate flower, she never knew this feeling she never experienced it.He made love to her.. she couldnt believe it someone wanted her physically too.there is nothing more she c ould ask fr.. she was afraid to meet Mauli next day so she decided to meet Kunal first,Kunal seemed lost first den reassured that he is always vth me n good or bad, now she doesnt fear fr anythng he is her strength nw.She is so happy tat he even agreed to take her for ganpati visarjan in public.
But her happiness didnt last long they were caught by Mauli.guilt overtook her happiness seeing maulis state.
