This belief that Indian women cheat rarely is a false belief, or maybe a carefully created image to show that India is a sanskari country and that women are the sanskaar-bearers of our country. But personally, I have seen an equal number of men and women cheating.

Women are as human as men. We make the same mistakes as them.

My neighbor got divorced as her hubby cheated on her with her best friend.

Two famous stories

Its not only limited to cities, its also is very prominent in villages. My mom was telling me about this couple who was caught red-handed by the husband. The husband forced the cheating wife to file a complaint. The guy was put in jail and had to leave the village with his wife and children. The sad part is the wife still does not know the reason for the move or just pretends not to know. She thinks its because of the business. The husband took the cheating wife back because of the children. Later, after the whole affair died down, we found out that she is still in contact with the guy as they claim to be in love. The husband is helpless because of the children.

Actually, it's very common - much more common than what our culture portrays.
The one that afftected me emotionally was my best friend's mother's. Apparently, she was having an affair with a classmate from college, for don't know how many years, and her entire family including her children knew about it. My friend was emotionally scarred from hiding it from her father and to date only my then boyfriend (now husband) and I are the only people she confessed the truth to. It has been close to 12 years now - I don't know if the husband knows yet. But the kids had to interact with the man and it jars me that people can do that to their kids. I mean, I knew that she was a great mother, but she failed to see the effect her affair had on her children and I have no idea about the marriage. Her father seemed like a wonderful husband. The entire family tried to reason with the woman, but she didn't budge.

We're grown up and have our own kids today. But my best friend has to pretend everyday that her parents' relationship is fine and with all the lying to her father, she feels very guilty. Weirdly enough, even in this scenario, all of us were doctors!

Its sad.i thought women are more sacrificing type.
